To be honest I like the Zonda better than its replacement and at least with the Zonda you can have some fun with the manual shift- a lost art in many newer cars
@Prakrit Biswas I'm not exactly sure. I think Horacio Pagani mentioned it somewhere in one of the videos for the Huayra. I would guess that it's because he wanted to explore a different avenue for achievable and practical high powered street performance. With turbos, you don't have to stress the engine as much to reach that 700-800 hp range, compared to natural aspiration.
400rpm in 6th gear, and the engine breaks no sweat... anything with fewer cylinders would sound like it is about to stall gotta love the silky balance of a V12...
I'm loving Harrys' honesty and approachability with these diary videos. I think we're getting jaded with Top Gears' overslick hollywood gloss, and that's what makes Harrys' honesty so satisfying.
Harry Metcalfe is the best car reviewer... in the world. :P I just love all his reviews. They're always thorough unlike some car reviewers I can mention. Thank you Harry. Thank you Evo. Please keep it up.
The Zonda's my dream car! Amazing attention to detail especially on the inside. What a driving experience that would be! Manual gearbox, 600hp, a steering wheel and that's it! How a hypercar should be!
Harry, love the reviews, just the right amount of tech interspersed with conversation. That must be the Cotswolds that you are driving through, I'm back in Bisley soon, so will keep an eye out for a speeding Zonda/Lambo/330 !! Keep up the good work.
This car like the video is akin to one of the finest wines, rare and special but oh so enjoyable. What a superb car and what a monumental engine, surely one of the finest ever created. I travel the road from Burford to Charlebury often, guess I'll pass you one day, to follow the Zonda on that stretch of road would be a treat indeed! Cheers Harry tony
i like this kind of review, reviewing the car on it's every day driving experience, not 100% on its speed and 0 to 60 mph time..... like most reviews does.....
We as fellow drivers should give the same concessions to drivers of cars like these as we do to law enforcement personnel. Whenever see them coming we should move aside give them a free path and marvel as they go by full throttle. Because believe it or not a lot of super car owners are real down to earth gentlemen. And Harry Metcalfe is class act if I've ever seen one. Harry you deserve that car enjoy.
@zhbroder No the SLR uses a 5.4 liter V8 Supercharged engine. This engine is much more older in design going back to the 90s. This V12 is a Mercedes M120 variant. Mercedes has been supplying Pagani with engines since their inception.
About the cold gearbox 2nd gear engagement. Shouldn't you be skipping 2nd and go to 3rd instead? And since the engine is so flexible, should be a problem at all right??
I don't know if that's just a mechanics fairy tale but flooring the throttle on high gear, low revs supposed to be quite damaging to the engine, but I get the point with the torque.
@PaganiZondaDrifter ...they've increased power several times. The F Clubsport had around 650 hp, at it's best the Cinque had 680 hp. The Zonda R makes 750 hp with a 6 liter V12 MB M120 Engine.
My ultimate dream car. Yes, cars like the Veyron- which, by the way, seems classless by comparison-, McLaren F1, the new generation of hypercars, new Lamborghinis, Koenigseggs, ect are faster, but the Zonda is an absolutely timeless design. I think only the McLaren F1 can compare in terms of engineering brilliance, both in terms of raw purity and elegance. The things I would do just to be able to look at one... let alone drive one... let alone own one. Pure automotive art.
In my opinion, the Pagani Zonda F, Porsche Carrera GT, and Ford GT are the monumental trio. All three have an exquisite sense of harmony, timeless looks, and sensational engineering.
One of the most unprepossessing of people (I mean that in a good way), living one of the best lifestyles I can possibly imagine. Legend.
I agree. I always think 'Harry completely deserves all of these great cars'. If it were anyone else, they most certainly would not ;-)
how does or did he make his money?
that noise when he floored to show how quick is to get from 30to60 is the best part I think
The tractor pass makes this video. Thumbs up from me, Harry.
To be honest I like the Zonda better than its replacement and at least with the Zonda you can have some fun with the manual shift- a lost art in many newer cars
+jim dandy The Huayra wasn't a replacement. Haracio designed the Zonda and Huayra at roughly the same time
Huayra is not replacement for zonda...
i love the zonda more than the huayra as well
Yeah Huayra definitely isn’t a replacement, as Pagani are still building and selling Zondas as super wealthy people request them.

"It's just a little bit heavier than a Mini Cooper S" *faints*
400rpm in 6th gear, and the engine breaks no sweat...
anything with fewer cylinders would sound like it is about to stall
gotta love the silky balance of a V12...
The conversational style and little incidentals you just don't hear in normal 'review' vids makes these so compelling!
Thank you Harry, that 30 to 60 demonstration was epic and just plain cool.
Another fantastic video. The Zonda is just incredible and these two videos show it in more detail than I've ever seen. Thank you and keep them coming.
I'm loving Harrys' honesty and approachability with these diary videos. I think we're getting jaded with Top Gears' overslick hollywood gloss, and that's what makes Harrys' honesty so satisfying.

Thank you Harry. Thank you Evo. Please keep it up.
Sir! You are so lucky to have and enjoy all those beautiful cars (Espada, Zonda, Testarossa, etc.) with manual gear boxes...Love it!
Evo,the best car magazine, the most interesting journalists, the best videos!love from greece!
Harry, you're now easily my favorite car reviewer. Please please please keep these videos coming!!
The Zonda's my dream car! Amazing attention to detail especially on the inside. What a driving experience that would be! Manual gearbox, 600hp, a steering wheel and that's it! How a hypercar should be!
What he did with the gearbox while talking about torque was truly an awesome thing to watch.
Harry, love the reviews, just the right amount of tech interspersed with conversation. That must be the Cotswolds that you are driving through, I'm back in Bisley soon, so will keep an eye out for a speeding Zonda/Lambo/330 !! Keep up the good work.
Nice demonstration of torque and acceleration. It's quite an example of how good the thing is! Easily my favorite reviewer in cars today.
stunning. the Zonda answers all kinds of questions about what an engine can do
I watch your video and think of all the poor life choices I’ve made to inhibit my garage from looking like yours. Thanks for sharing. I really enjoy!
Love the passion he puts in these diares and boy what a car. I cried at least three times during the whole video
3:20, alle Gänge ohne Gas hochgeschaltet, dann Gas gegeben und das Teil zieht ab. Das ist so geil. Was ein Drehmoment!
First discovered the Zonda in Top Gear's top trumps card deck. Still looks like an absolute spaceship
@LP640Fan I'm with you on this. Harry's recent videos are just getting better and better. He shows so much practical stuff about these exotic cars!
just cant get enough of these vids keep em coming harry. thanks.

tony
Perfect combination of old and new.
best car journo in the history of automotive journalism.
I love that this have simple manual gearbox. Thats is truely wonderful.
NEVER seen ANYTHING like that - from sheer idling twisting force into SIXTH!!! Naturally pushing. That really shows what capacity can doe.
every time I see Harry's Zonda I want one more and more
i really like the way hes so calm when making the review :)
i like this kind of review, reviewing the car on it's every day driving experience, not 100% on its speed and 0 to 60 mph time..... like most reviews does.....

Insane machine. No turbos for the win
If anyone has a true, deep felt passion for cars. Then its this guy.
i've been waiting for this for DAYS!!!!!
@zhbroder

was that a chunk of tire tread hanging onto the camera lense at the end? hahaha, awesome car and a great review, love it
Best pagani ever made
😍 ZONDA
I am building my dream V12 supercar with the OG zonda engine 😎
Where´s part 3 Harry?????? Come on give us part 3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,etc, please :)
Your the best Harry, keep this videos coming.Cheers from Portugal
he cut the part out at the end of the 6th gear pull saying he got to 100 mph :L
when it was first uploaded that bit was included
love these evo diaries
About the cold gearbox 2nd gear engagement. Shouldn't you be skipping 2nd and go to 3rd instead? And since the engine is so flexible, should be a problem at all right??
Such great video, need these on a compilation DVD.
This is just brilliant! Bring more of these and some reviews by Chris Harris, and I won't need youtube for anything else.
Just a great freaking review and a great reviewer. 5 Stars
You are selling us dream Harry, thank you.
Awesome! Hoping there's a part 3... and 4... and 5...
Nicely done video for not being a video pro. Beautifully distinctly designed car--one of a kind.
Harry is a legend
the number plates on cars (UK) are most there for traffic cameras which if the car is speeding then it takes a picture of the back not the front.
Harry's awesome! More people like him and Chris Harris, please!
ending is the best part! Thanx harry
I don't know if that's just a mechanics fairy tale but flooring the throttle on high gear, low revs supposed to be quite damaging to the engine, but I get the point with the torque.
He actually has three homes, one in Chipping Norton, one in Isle of Man and one in Bayswater which is in London. :)
This is flipping brilliant! I would love to drive one of these! Gonna work hard!
Mental! At least you had some great fun in it..... Running costs are monumental.🚗🚗😉
this series is more catchy than too many of them tv series to me...
there you go, mr. metcalfe.
how come motorbikes are only allowed 1 plate?
sound on the overrun at 3.17 or so is insane!!!
God, the SOUND, THE SOUND!
I went to the Goodwood FOS probably 1999 and there was a silver \pagini Zonda Hurtling around the circiut, could it have been this one?
Gregory Page yes
Awesome.
Good videos, evo.
Waiting for part 3!
good video, where is his farm?
4:44 that's a nice view!
yeah, I was just trying to point out that motorbikes only have 1 plate, therefore it wouldn't be illegal for a car to only have 1 as well.
I was flabbergasted by the performance of this car... I WANT.
We need more!
@kornkid8600 hmm for some reason i thought the slr had larger displacement. thx cheers
Is there going to be a 3rd part?
@PaganiZondaDrifter
...they've increased power several times. The F Clubsport had around 650 hp, at it's best the Cinque had 680 hp. The Zonda R makes 750 hp with a 6 liter V12 MB M120 Engine.
Great video again! Keep it up!
great video, great car, great job harry :) you mister have a got one of the best cars ever made
Top review as always
Next best thing to a real life tour, fantastic !
Have you ever reviewed a "B Engineering Edonis?"
i love these reviews
but in part 1 harry says this particular one is quite a bit faster as it's been modified.
Keep 'um coming Harry!
I hope there are twenty parts to this video series
aren't the wing mirrors a bit to highly placed even for a low car like this?
Verry nice once more. Thanks
brilliant Harry......just
Do they both live in the chipping norton?
I hope this is part 2/100 :)
With the gearbox to warm up before properly shifting it's like a 996 GT3.

Robert Millsop if you buy a camaro you can beat one around a track tho 🤣😂
You've forgotten the Carrera GT. Same sort of thing as the Zonda.
In my opinion, the Pagani Zonda F, Porsche Carrera GT, and Ford GT are the monumental trio. All three have an exquisite sense of harmony, timeless looks, and sensational engineering.
Harry, PLEASE, can you make a video everytime you drive your Zonda? :-)
......and no flappy paddles.
Love the Zonda.
amazing torque demonstration :)
Part 3, 4, 5, 6 ,7... We will be waiting! f
My Octavia vRS has exactly the same 'cold 2nd gear' problem.
Part three please!
Well, I can say that this man has the best life.
How do you know? I thought Jeremy lived in Wales.
pure art.
Excellent video, I like the Panerai you're wearing too. :-)
