    This only agitates the glass ball at the bottom. If paint is to be properly mixed, the ball must contact the top and the bottom of the can during movement (shaking). Cheers.

      That is true, but you can also mount it sideways in the vice as well. Works well both ways. Cheers.

      Thanks Jan. Was a bit of a head scratcher to get the bearings and mechanisms to run smoothly.

    Awesome. That's a real good paint stirrer dude. Your lathe does fine work. This is one that a guy labels or stores for future referenc when theres time enough to get building it.

    Love the design. Excellent work, but you still have to stand there while using it. Hook a permanent motor to it with a speed controller and timer.

      Thanks for commenting. Yes, you are correct. I’m planning version 2 to be automated as you describe. Stay tuned. Cheers.

    The only sticking point is the use of the word "over" in "Making an over-engineered spray can...". What specifically makes it over? It's just doing it right or well. If you're going to do something, do it well (or I'd hew toward excellence). Who are you answering to? [asked rhetorically]. The generosity of taking the time to share a bit well done and not stopping at possible criticism had me subscribe. Thank you for sharing!

      Thanks for commenting and Subscribing. Using the word "over" was more a play on words similar to a Rube Goldberg machine. Make a contraction to perform a simple task. Most people just shake cans with their hands or use a Sawzall. I do plan to make another one with less moving parts and to be standalone with a timer. Stay tuned! Cheers.

    Cool shaker! Well done Mike. But, I was shocked when I saw you sharpening a tungsten and your grinding wheel had 3 huge grooves in it.

    • @MikeFreda
      @MikeFreda  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Paul. Yes, I've been meaning to deal with that wheel for a while! For all the tools I have, thats the one tool I do not have, a wheel dresser. Now that you brought it up, I'll get right on it! lol

      @@MikeFreda Don't get a wheel dresser, get an industrial diamond on a stick. There is a big difference.

      No, I didn’t work for NASA! I’m just a guy who likes to tinker and make things for fun. I don’t watch a lot of TV! Lol. Wind tunnel planes sounds interesting. Cheers.

    Great Vlog, can that design work on gallon plastic paint buckets?

    • @MikeFreda
      @MikeFreda  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It should but you would have to up size everything and use proper bearings. Managing the weight will be the issue.
