This seems so unrealistic, since you have at least 2 other adults in the room ensuring that students are quiet during the Guided Reading portion of the program.
Guided reading inspires readers Promotes reading skills amongst learners It is effective because the teacher handles small groups, this impacts in the skills and enhances learners engagement it also inspires
It’s not guessing. The students read, and then the teacher tested for comprehension, asking the students questions & having them go into the book to support their.responses. I agree that this video is more about testing comprehension than teaching students to read.
I enjoyed watching your lesson. Thank you.

I thought the same thing when I saw the adults
Right. I just have me but my students are getting better at being quiet
Great job! Great promoting and all the right questions. Loved: How did you know?!

Fantastic approach
good teaching
This is not reading, this is guessing. Hopefully, this teacher is using explicit phonics instruction now.

How old are these first graders?
They're behind (no other way of putting it)
theyr'e there to try and catch up to their peers 😃
@@marykay8587 yeah teachers normally only pull out the group of kids who need it
I have little experience teaching little children.
I'm not sure the play phones are needed seems like another distraction. Worksheets are good with during reading.
Whisper phones are great! Research them!
It helps the children to hear their own voices when they read without needing to be loud.
System failure
Instead rereading over and over again... the children should be engaged in a written exercise
There are benefits to repeated reading, especially for struggling readers
They are not paying attention you should have taken the book away from each of them and given them a work sheet to do with the story.
