these 2 releases were they're japanese debut i believe, so that's why supernatural feels so city pop, and also still keep they're chill sound. i love both and i also i see how we would like something different from them cause we know that they can pull it off; but for now i feel like its good for a group like NJ to bring back some nostalgia in a environment that's so filled with heavy and over produced songs, (i love aespa and etc, but im saying that it just feel correct in my opinion for NJ to stick a little longer to this type of sound). much love to you and everyone 💜

SUPERNATURAL IS SO GOOOOOOD
I perfectly get what you're saying about "dynamics" with Newjeans' song, I had seen a lot of reviews who said Newjeans is becoming "boring" and "repetitive", and you're probably the only one I have seen who properly explained what you were looking for, because the other ones I have seen, most Newjeans fans would actually take it as "they just want everyone to sound like Blackpink or the usual KPop sound"...because thats what it comes off.
Youre the only one who explained it in a way where it didn't come off as just shitting on Newjeans' style overall.
HOWEVER, with liking Supernatural over the 3 other releases this comeback, is it correct to assume that maybe you guys just like it to be still as close as possible to a more bombastic, more upbeat sounds like the usual KPop sound? Because you also mentioned Attention and Hype Boy which are songs STILL more rooted in KPop...while I feel like Newjeans are actually branching to a lesser KPop sound as they go on and become more experimentative by going as far as possible to the usual upbeat/high energy KPop sound.
You liked Supernatural and yet it's not a very dynamic song, it actually repeats a lot.
I think the more Newjeans branches out to other genres and not sounding like KPop, the more KPop-centric fans will think they are "boring"...but for me, having listened to different types of genres, each genres have restrictions and is not open to total deconstruction, or else they might just stick to KPop again, which seems to bring the "dynamics" as it follows it's own set of formula that is admittedly, more "dynamic" or "unpredictable"....but speaking as someone who is outside looking in, I see it reversed of how you see it...I think KPop is overly formulaic (albeit bombastic unpredictable, and high energy...and Newjeans is a deconstruction of KPop so they sound unique to me, it's also the reason why I think Newjeans brought lots of non KPop fans in their fold)
Of course, we each have our own perspective, I'm just trying to bring in my perspective into it (a non KPop fan who started diving into KPop because of Newjeans) ....I also listen to guys like Elliott Smith, Phoebe Bridgers, Phoenix, Slowdive, Beach House, Blur, or genres like Bossa Nova, House Music etc...and so maybe I'm fine/I prefer with music that might be "boring" in the eyes of KPop fans.
Maybe KPop fans like a "Ditto" that is very repetitive structure-wise (I think it's one of their most non-dynamic song) once in a while, but they still prefer THAT KPop sound. Nothing wrong with that, but I thank Newjeans for trying to be unique, they might not be dynamic in some KPop fans' perspective, but god, this industry needs that one group that is just easy to listen to and not just blending in with the rest of them...I think Newjeans can properly be described as "standing out by speaking softly in a room full of shouting"
Newjeans reached their peak at 2023 their songs been going downhill in my opinion. Ever since their ceo and hype had their drama.

I have no problem with you not liking them, but KPop fans (mostly western fans) might have a recency bias and started to "not like" Newjeans' music because of someone else's drama. most Koreans fans as well still love Newjeans.
Western mentality have a tendency to not be able to separate personal disdain from the media they consume as well, even if its directly or indirectly, western mindset loves pinning "guilt by association" and playing the moral police of the world...plus most western kpop fans are BTS fans and they take going against Bang PD to going against BTS which should not be the case...but like or not like what you want.
@@boredbeck of course they killing it you can say that to every kpop group baby monster Aespa etc I judge what I hear and see. I don’t react and glaze just for views . Just like lalisa rockstar song didn’t hit for me. Newjeans last 4 to 6 songs are the same and they dance the same lol
