I remeber when we upgraded to Sky Digital back in the late 90s It seemed quite revolutionary back then. I remeber the option where you could buy an OPEN keyboard and go on the internet.
Yes I had one of those open keyboards myself I don't know what happened to it. It let you email from the comfort of your sofa lol had to use dialup to do it
I just read on RXTV that Sky will make these boxes obsolete in March! Even so, this is still a blast from the past! I was at one point in 2013 able to use my old 2003 Sky+ box for a bit, I even uploaded an ad break found in one of the recordings I had on it!
@@alfiehanrattysbackup492 don’t know. I’ve heard no news yet of Channel 4 or Channel 5 closing SD channels. Maybe your recordings MIGHT still be playable?
Does anyone remember being able to order a Dominos pizza on here? I used to order one when my mum was asleep, used to go on the Sky bill. She never found out! hahaha
I did briefly mention this in the video and yes ordering pizza from dominoes was one of its perks 😂 I used to do that a lot. Pizza from your sky remote
On a related note I remember playing the game where you shoot the ball up into a grouping of balls in order to make them fall down. Easily amused. Edit: Just seen another comment mention "Beehive Bedlam" for the one I remember.
Of course it still works, I use one every day. No HD, No Sky+, No SkyQ for me thank you, Can operate the remote in the dark as it was designed to be ergonomic AND functional unlike a modern Sky Q remote. Regarding BBC, who still watches that rubbish?

Will it still allow you to watch your old recordings after March 2024? SD versions of Channel 4 and Channel 5 and shopping channels could continue?

We will have to wait and see
I'll never feel nostalgic to give Sky another penny. Got off that gravy train decades ago 😂
Spent hours on beehive bedlam in the late 90s early 00s
Beehive Bedlam was legendary. It was way better than those snide Teletext games lol
I've got the music safe as mp3s.... Some good tracks
Losing BBC isn't a great loss haha But very nostalgic. I actually really liked the menu layout and remote for that box. I remember all those games.
