- No one knew Rory Gallagher better than his brother and manager, Donald Gallagher. For the first time, on the 25th Anniversary of his death, we show the video of an interview done by Sheena Crowley, of Crowley Music, that covers all aspects of Rory’s life and work...

@@michaelgrainger1097 Sorry but cynical me heard Rory say that making a reproduction Strat would be going too far...and yet it still happened. I loved Rory ...he was my antidote to pompous rock...ill never forget when he smiled at me.. I was just 18.

I watch this every other day, not to mention Rory’s great music. I wish I could go to Ireland to pay my respects to your brother. I will be sixty soon and am so grateful that I rediscovered my guitar and Rory’s music. Never be that good. Won’t even try. God bless you Donal.

When Donal turns to the audience, his eyes would make you believe it was Rory you were looking at. Hope Donal gets the book out, how cool would that be? The only problem with this video was that it ended. I could listen to Donald stories for hours. Rory was the best and is the best.

Your brother is still a great inspiration for me. He remains a lesson on being humble. His passing still brings a tear to my eyes. Bought my first Rory tape when I was in the service in Guantanamo bay in 1982. Loved him ever since.
That was fascinating. Donal is such a lovely guy and reminds me so much of Rory! I really hope he does release a memoir. Would love to hear his own personal story.

Woah! This is a fabulous interview with some hilarious and insightful new stories. I couldn't quite understand Donal's reason for the first rejection of the film proposal. His voice trailed off a bit (or I can't decipher parts of his brogue.). Thank you very much for posting this valuable little chronicle. And kudos and gratitude to Donal the Gallagher family for stewarding Rory's legacy. It's a great gift to the rock and roll music world.
Thank you for maintaining Rory's legacy, Donal. Lovely interview. Full of warmth. Seeing Taste regularly during its residence at the Marquee in London 1968 to 1969 remains my live music highlight. It was before the first album was out but featured much of the material on it. And I had/have the Blister on the Moon single on Major Minor. I treasure it.. And saw them at 1970 the Isle of Wight Festival. My family hail from County Cork in Kinsale and I have to get over to visit the library. Rory was the greatest performer of blues guitar there ever was . Peace and love. Mick Donovan
A friend of mine Billy Ryan from Cork he's involved in classic Cars he told me that he played with Rory in the 70s , Billy was amazed that I knew Rory in the 70s when he played in killarney on a regular , May Rory be in our memories for Ever , He is Always Our Star

It's Christmas Eve here and I have just spent an hour and a quarter listening spellbound to my fellow Corkman Donal Gallagher with these marvellous anecdotes and stories about Rory, and how he intertwined with so many famous artists...Kudos to Rory, Donal, Crowley Music Store, and to the Cork City Library, you brought me back to Cork 40 years ago!
