Thanks for all the comments! Just a note - I know that the quality could be way better. I made this on my phone on a Sunday afternoon with no microphone or any special equipment (or any clue about how to make a video!), so it's a bit rough around the edges and I'd be sure to do it differently if I'd known how many people would enjoy it! But thanks for all the kind words and I'm glad that people like the video. :)

I have to admit that I would love to visit Ireland one day because I'm enchanted by beauty of the country, but it would be also absolutely incredible to see places related to Rory Gallagher's life, because he is my favorite guitar player and I respect and admire him greatly. This video tour is for now probably the closest that I will get to strolling through the streets of Cork, so thank you! 😊

Lovely documentary! Sadly, I doubt I'll ever make it to Ireland but, it's GREAT to see your greatest blues/folk/rock/jazz (etc. etc.) musician is well-remembered. G'bless Ireland ♡

Nice video, thanks 😊 Rory was the first gig I ever went to in '73 and I still have the 90p ticket. Such a shame Crowley's music shop has gone. One time we were in Cork I had to buy some strings from there. We've been to his grave several times... very sad. I met Donal Gallagher and Tom O'Driscoll once, really nice guys :-)

Great video man Rory will always be missed by those who knew him and by those who loved his music, he truly was an inspiration to both the ears and the heart and we could do with more people like him.

Thank you very much for your amazing Video about Rory and his Home Town.
I never saw Rory live on Stage, so I saw only a Live Video at Home and have some Discs. Rory was really on of the best Guitarist ever and his Voice was really amazing with many great Songs. I enjoyed your Trip through Cork, your sympathetic interesting comments and the beautiful impressions. I subscribed your channel because am curious about.
As soon my wife is in Germany I want to Travel to Cork and want to be near the great Rory.
    Thanks for your Video.

Some of the excellent Irish Tour '74 album was recorded in Cork. Stratocasters and other US guitars were still something of a rarity on this side of the pond in the early 60's; that guitar Rory bought in 1963 must have cost him a small fortune. It's interesting that Rory's life is also celebrated in Ballyshannon as well as Cork. Rory was one of the few artists to play in Northern Ireland at a time when many acts wouldn't go near the place. Some of the Irish Tour album was recorded in Belfast. What he had in abundance as well as his talent was integrity.

This was a wonderful video. It was fascinating. I miss Rory so much as I am sure all his fans do. I always remember the little video where he walked up the hill in Cork and was interviewed when he was just starting out. I visited Cork some time ago and visited the market. I hope to go again soon and visit Rory's grave sight. I hope you will post more videos. It was fascinating. Thank you so much.

Wow! What a great Video log!!! Very well done, Rory! I've been a fan since I was first introduced to Rory's music in the mid-70s. Tattoo was the first album I heard and I was immediately hooked. I saw Rory live no less than 5 times here in LA so I consider myself very lucky in that regard. I hope to get over to Ireland one day to visit all the cool Rory spots and pay my respects at his grave. His music meant and means so much to me! Thanks a million!

Thank you Rory it's a quite cool and energic tribute to the Irish guitar Hero like people love to call him, for me Rory Gallagher comes from the far space! He could play so many instruments with only one! He could sing with so many different voices : just incredible. I like to know thanks to you the church's clocks play 'Tatoo lady" on his death anniversary it's quite nice

FYI that shaky cam is nausea-inducing.
What does Gallaghers (Gastro) pub have to do with Rory aside from the name? Like I don’t think he ever went there did he?
I heard his mother’s family owned one of the pubs down the street, is that true?
Or did you ever see his mother’s house near Douglas Road?
Nevertheless a valiant effort with the vid, good stuff.

You are correct about the pub on McCurtain Street. I could be wrong but I think the pub is still there. The Cork Arms, but don't know if it was called that back then.
