I like how even after Captain Sawyer slapped Wellard and Wellard insulted him, he still could give Wellard a command and Wellard replied with Sir and obeyed. Gotta give Capt. Sawyer some points for atleast admitting Wellard was a brave kid in the end. :)
Warship back in the day were packed to the brim with men and too cramped to sneak around well in, such an escape would have been noticed long before it had a chance to threaten the ship. However the series is intended to be a dramatic one and thus exceptions to realism are made for the sake of excitement. In the novel it's actually worse with Horatio literally saving the ship after it is taken, while here it's implied that the Renown was holding its own.
Well kinda half of the crew already died of the renown due to their earlier undertakings, the deserters, the assault on the fort which caused high amounts of casualties and the running aground.
Kelsey Williams: If she managed to get her knife in between the vertebrae, I could see it. And if so, he may not be dead, but he would be paralyzed for life.
@urquhart2001 Well one could question the wisdom of such an action. I wish they'd put the women in a room with four real walls. Modesty's and privacy's sake, for the women, and less hard on the guard.
Hobbs could have easely destroyed Hornblower and rest by comfurming what Buckland claimed however he did not and that pruves he was a man of houner,as for Kennedy takeing the blame I think it was not just to save Hornblower but by doing so he also saved the reputation and name of Sawyer a man who was Nelsons own(severol resons for him to do that). You might pitty Buckland up to a point but he was what I would call a Simpson without the violense
The American pronounciation is pretty infectious in popular culture. I say Leut before I correct myself but in the British services you'd be roundly mocked for not saying is as left

Well I'm glad Wellerd and sawyer and Hobes became friends in the end.
Excellent series!
Bush,Archie,Sawyer,Wellard and a large portion of the crew, all dead because one man couldn't control his bloody hormones! -_- XD
I love how people would die instantly and quietly from barely two inches of steel in thier backs way back in the 1790's
He came and went at the same time.

And they're guarding two or three other ships too.
The spanish woman (the colonels wife) is actually in Sharpes Eagle, she plays the countess.

It seems like nobody can keep prisoners locked up for long on this show, they always get out.
stiles is so badass in this one
In the book it never became clear what happened down there. Wellard and Hornblower were both there, and both didn't talk.
Haha, I love how the Spanish lady stabs the guard about a inch deep in the back and it kills him instantly.
Kelsey Williams: If she managed to get her knife in between the vertebrae, I could see it. And if so, he may not be dead, but he would be paralyzed for life.
That was a puny little stab. Don't see how that got the bloke off her, lol.

@Shangas Weren't you listening? Wellard said he wasn't a boy! He's a handsome man!
As unjust as he was, I pity Sawyer. He turned out alright in the end.
