The hurricane just absolutely fucking sucked all around. We got off lucky structurally but we had a loss in life during in our household. I am just glad we kept our house.
Still no one is talking about upper East Tennessee! We're on the other side of Asheville NC down river, the Nolachucky river runs through Upper East Tennessee We also got hit hard by the hurricane, Interstate 26 was taken out on the TN side, It has reopened to1-lane in each direction, It took over a month to get in to GermanTown, it was completely cut off, we had to get into there by walking in supplies, we were dragging sleds, wagons and even had donkeys & horses to help get supplies in. Finally got enough gravel to make a 'road' for 4wheelers, then 4wheel drive trucks, Emeryville fire dept where all the supplies were, We couldn't get to because the big bridge was out on our side of Erwin. We were bringing in medical supplies, Had wheelchairs, walker's and anything else we heard that was needed. Diapers and everything babies could need. Things are still needed for the people who have lost everything they need winter clothing, tents, airmattress, heaters/propane and fuel/gas,kerosene & propane. Propane tanks w/those heater attachments are great, generators, small refrigerators. Canned food, ready to eat meals, food that doesn't need refrigeratoration, Honestly the MREs that the Army dropped in have been lifesaving, Big Thanks to the ARMY CORP OF ENGINEERS for everything they have done! Its been on national news. I'm begging PLEASE DON'T FORGET THAT UPPER EAST TENNESSEE HAS BEEN INCREDIBLY DEVISTATED ALSO. Shame on FEMA for how they have treated us, We the people of Appalachia, who have lost everything, they have done next to nothing, its been the neighbor's & families who had a little bit extra that gave more! Yeah people aren't getting that some people don't qualify for these free houses and trailers. I've got two friends living in the woods one in Tennessee and one in NC. Neither one qualifies for anything. Tents sleeping bags and warm weather gear is a necessity this time of year. Unfortunately people are donating the wrong kind of heaters for tents around here. @GF2Aabsolute It was definitely one of the worst in some years. A few months before Milton, Helene flooded the office that I work at but yeah, Milton was bad and completely demolished a lot of my clients on Siesta Key. I do remember 2004 was fairly bad with Charlie, etc. I know someone from Port Charlotte who lost their house and had to live in a FEMA trailer for 8 months. Pretty crazy.
My buddy does line work in SC. when the storms coming they go down early and wait it out in hardened vehicles to get at it right when the storms over. I think when we got hit not long ago most our people were deployed to the coast, because we normally don’t have the damages.

I watched a couple of my play guns "squirt guns , cap guns " burn in the wood stove because they were pointed at someone . By the time I was six I probably knew more about gun safety than most police . Makes it difficult to visit a range to this day . Safety is a life long lesson you never stop learning , not something you learn in a hour by someone with thirty others to teach everything that I have had years and years to learn on one strict range .
ngl I saw a recent Wendigoon video with his new facial hair, and until this moment seeing him here I wasn't sure if he was replaced or not, glad you're still you Isaiah! ♥
As someone from Kansas City, Missouri. Yes, we have literal underground mountains of cheese in hundreds of cave systems that were dug out to gather salt. Being much of the area and good part of Kansas has the largest deposits of salt underground in the world. So yeah. Perfect place to store cheese. Cause that sh*t ain't going to spoil with the amount of salt hanging in the air and being buried in, basically.
Lots of cold storage in Missouri, saves them a fortune for cold storage warehouses to be in the caves. As a driver though I'm not a fan, most of them are poorly lit making the required maneuvers a pain.

Wow so bold and brave of wendigoon wearing a Hawaiian shirt. You know what they say.

Ahhh the golden retriever is hangin out with the wolves again!
