"With music so deep in his heart, unable to play drums now, Mac’s mother Moira suggested he get a harmonica, which he did, and he started teaching himself how to play. I have a dear friend, Medal of Honor recipient Sammy Davis, who plays harmonica and tells a story of learning to play 'Shenandoah' while in the jungles of Vietnam. I gave Mac a video of Sammy playing it, suggesting the Mac learn it. He did, and it was beautiful. Listening to Mac play it, I suggested that he ask Oliver to do a string arrangement to back him up. As long as they would have the strings at the session for 'Arctic Circles', why not do 'Shenandoah' also?
And they did…a beautiful version of this beloved American classic.

I am here after watching Gary on the Mike Huckabee show. I wasn't aware that
McCanna started play the harmonica until now. This is the most heart felt song with a harmonica i ever felt because of Mac. I play harmonicas myself and after hearing this i will never play Shenandoah again. Flowers to Mac And every one in the family. God Bless all of you , And of coarse the USA. We need his wisdom more than ever.

I also came here from watching the Huckabee show. I watched this and had myself a very deep emotional cry. It is very moving and beautiful and I admire Gary Sinese even more than I did after having the privilege of learning this part of his story and journey and to see how he has handled such great pain with beauty and grace. Extremely moving and this will stay with me for life. Mac is a beautiful soul that will not be forgotten.

I’m here because I read Gary’s piece on Mac, and his beautiful gift for music. That never faltered and his talent allowed him to continue work on this album.

He as lifted up on angels’ wings, and he continues in music of praise for eternity.

Mac Sinise left this earth too soon, but he will always live on in his music and I pray for his family.
I am watching his father, Gary on TV right now. I admire Gary so much for what he does for disabled veterans. I went to one of his benefit concerts in Temecula. CA some years ago, but I never knew about his son Mac. I now admire Gary even more for raising such a wonderful, talented son, who was taken from this earth way to soon. God is with Mac in Heaven now. His suffering is over, but the world has lost a wonderful young man. God bless Mac, Gary, and the entire Sinise family.

I can never hear too many renditions of Shenandoah. In high school we won our state adjudication for concert choir with that song. It will forever stay in my heart and my hearts go out to the Sinise Families for their sons passing and thank you to Fox News for sharing information about Mac featuring his Great Dad Gary of course. I couldn't wait to jump on TH-cam to hear this. Thank you !! I often find myself humming that song often to lighten my mood as I go through my own Health struggles after being a Covid First Responder. Thank you Gary Sinise for sharing his story & information about Mac's Foundation.❤

So beautiful to witness how gracefully such a cross is perseverancelly carried. Oh my.... This is hauntingly beautiful. I sit here awash in tears knowing Mac has moved to his eternal home and his family and friends will experience this loss in a very real way. I have asked my husband, Bob, who went to Heaven 14 years ago, to find Mac and show him the ropes. Bob also played harmonica, guitar, bass, string bass, and Trumpet, and sang beautifully. I hope he and Mac can make some beautiful music to share with everyone there.

When I hear this, and knowing your story, and losing our own little boy to Heaven (Home!), I just weep.. and it’s been 16 years for us. To have this as Mac’s legacy is Amazing! Can you imagine how Jesus greeted him? How all of Heaven probably played his music for him? What that would even sound like? I bet he can’t stop smiling! We will all be there very soon .
