  • One of the things I learned about myself from watching my videos is I don't listen to my intuition. There are multiple times I have cause myself saying things like, "I should stop before I ____," but I don't stop, and then ____ happens.
What I don't know is if I was right to stop when I did on the pots that did survive. Just because my intuition was right about a pot breaking of I kept going, doesn't mean I stopped at the right time. I could have pots with thick bottoms that break when fired. I only have one piece of the puzzle, what it means to trim through the bottom of a pot. I don't know what it means to have a pot too thick and break in the kiln.
I was on the fence on whether or not to keep doing videos of wedging. I am running out of space on my phone quicker than I can get videos uploaded. In fact, I didn't record my last trim session because I didn't have space. The reason why I decided to include the wedging videos is because part of this project is to capture all the work I put into the clay. Wedging and conditioning clay takes up a decent amount of my time.
The plan for today is to trim old Grimace pot and maybe throw a new incense burner.
