The patina isn’t really visible yet, they become somewhat darker in color. I have to admit I baby these boots a bit to much! Will make a better video after 6 months. Thank you for the reply!
Awesome boots! I have a pair of Nicks on order. I’ve only had red wings before. Hoping my Nicks after break in will be way more comfortable with long days on my feet.
I had the same problem of tired feet and Red Wings do give some good support but Nicks are much better quality and that gives the extra support to wear them longer hours.
Very beautiful boots. It’s a treasure.I am also wearing Red Wings for many years.Actually a very good boots for its price. But I would like to try Nick’s. I want to ask you how you get these beautiful leather,as most of their boots in the website doesn’t offer it.And also how thick it is compared to Red Wings.Thank you!
Hi, first off Red Wing are indeed great boots for that price range. I think the biggest difference is the build quality and especially the sole construction is better on Nicks and other PNW brands. The leather of Red Wing is mostly produced in-house and is great! I think work leather of Nicks is a bit thicker but this Wickett and Craig Double stuffed is also very strong 💪🏼. Conclusion I would go for nicks if you are looking for beter boots especially the sole construction. Other Pacific Northwest brands like Franks and Whites (the original) are just as good!
@@willempasman827 Thanks a lot, very detailed and informative comment! I agree with you 100% about RW.I owe three pairs of IR and the quality is amazing for the price.I am very excited of Nick’s construction and quality after watching and reading a lot from YT. Almost all boots looks similar for me, but I decided my first order to be Robert 8”. Looking for more information regarding heel and arch and also the type of leather.W&C has more beautiful colours but it is expensive and also less water resistant from what I read.i live in Europe and the final place will reach 12 hundred USD. Choosing between 64 brown and max support walnut.Still researching.
Hi, I am back watching your video again. I want to ask you if that is classic or moderate arch with block heel and how is the sizing compare to the Red Wing .
This is a moderate / HNW arch/last. It’s got a little bit of arch support but not a big bump in the middle like for instance a 55 last. For sizing I would measure your brannock size and compare it to your Iron Ranger size. In the end Nicks recommended size is a bit bigger because they leave room for thick socks and a custom insole. So for instance I used to wear 8 US Iron Ranger and my brannock is 9+ US. I now wear 8.5 Nicks/Franks/ Whites. In the beginning they felt a bit to big but after wearing them a couple of months they are fit great!
@@willempasman827 Thank you, My brannock size is 11 “ , I wear 11US snickers and 10.5 RW as I am wearing thick wool socks. For Nick’s I believe I will need 10.5 US. How is the width with you? My RW was a bit narrow, because I couldn’t find wider size at the time I was looking to buy.But the leather got stretched and became comfortable. For Nick’s probably I will need size E or EE.
It’s Double stuffed Made to order (MTO) in HNW Last. Looks most like a urban drifter. Although the Nick models all have the same lasts 55/67/HNW and some packers.
Very good review brother! A big hug to you and keep making more !
Great review! Thank you!
Nicely done, Mr. Shultz! I look forward to your later reviews, too.
Awesome boots!! Keep us updated on the patina and how they look after some time
That double stuffed is some real nice leather.
Beautiful boots. The Honey lug soles work great with the Double Stuff.
Thank you, I agree with you 100% 😉

Oh man, those look incredible! I'm waiting for my Overlanders to come in, and I can't wait.

Dank je voor de review! Ik zit te wachten tot mijn bestelling klaar is bij Nicks.
Duurt allemaal heel lang bij Nicks, ik wacht ook nog op een aantal bestellingen.

I've already bought the English bridal and now questioning my decision? 😅 very nice man, enjoy them!
I was eyeing the bridle leathers and then double stuffed came along, but both are great. The double stuffed is a bit better dealing with rain.
Great boots!
Thank you!
It took a long time for get mine as well. The leather was delayed.
The veg tan proces takes a lot longer then chrome tan so when it’s delayed
It takes longer to restock. 😅

is that a Nick's Falcon Boot?

Consider the Parkhurst Allen in waxy commander leather as a next review. It's an excellent last.
I’ll be getting more Nicks and a pair of Whites and Franks, which I have high hopes for!
