The old man at 0:44 ish you can clearly see the way he is blocking is the same way taught in Karate. Which this would be the biggest give away. I'm not entirely sure what old fashioned cage really is meant by but to get to the point of this. I don't think these were really intended to be specific fighting styles mainly because I see a lot of things that probably wouldn't be taught much. I just generally think they took martial arts and applied it to the characters but I generally think they didn't have a direct basis of what style they'd fight in

I don't see why not, their both great fighters, both are kids, and have very similar body structures (Robin should be taller). Robin is more aggressive and stubborn while Huey is more poised and collected.

I will _never_ understand the inclusion of the kung fu fighting dynamic to the Boondocks cartoon, but I will say it produced some of the most beautifully choreographed fight scenes ever committed to animation. They sprang out of nowhere, and they returned to normalcy so fast it made you wonder if this isn't mostly happening in their imagination.
Kung Fu movies struck a chord with black people post-Civil Rights movement because many of them featured messages of "China is not the sick man of Asia", Black people felt a kinship with them as they knew what discrimination was like. Bushido Brown forgot the one thing every true martial artist knows, never fight against a group of people on your own. It doesn't matter how good you are, even if you're fighting a bunch of people who have never been in a fight before, you're at a unrealistic disadvantage. Stephen "Wonderboy" Thompson said it himself, it's just not a situation anybody should ever want to be in. No matter how good your skill level is. Then if the group in question actually does know how to fight? Yeah it's over.
I remember reading that in beserk. The main character guts once said theres no such thing as a fair fight in war. A grand master could easily get jumped and killed so if you gotta fight dirty to survive, do it.
I know this is 2yrs dated but They’re multiple videos of a boxer fighting a crowd and knocked out 6 people and he was not getting jumped, and a recent one of a guy named “Rohan” (his name was actually Rohan) beating up multiple people at once, so it all comes down to how smart and mentally disciplined the person is in a fight

This might sound like a minor detail, but look at how Huey's face changes on the beginning of the fight at 0:43 through 0:52. Watch it in slow motion if you can. The scene from 0:53 - 0:57 is the exact same fight sequence that they used in the fight between Sasuke and Orochimaru in episode 30 of Naruto. Orochimaru runs up to Sasuke, punches him right in the face, follows up with two more punches, a knee to the stomach and then knocks him to the ground with a straight jab.
Facial expressions in this show are top notch, as soon as he sees them jump from 50 feet away 60 feet up, Huey went from “alright, we can do this” to “oh fcking shit”

Bushido Brown forgot the one thing every true martial artist knows, never fight against a group of people on your own. It doesn't matter how good you are, even if you're fighting a bunch of people who have never been in a fight before, you're at a unrealistic disadvantage.
Stephen "Wonderboy" Thompson said it himself, it's just not a situation anybody should ever want to be in. No matter how good your skill level is. Then if the group in question actually does know how to fight? Yeah it's over.

I remember reading that in beserk. The main character guts once said theres no such thing as a fair fight in war. A grand master could easily get jumped and killed so if you gotta fight dirty to survive, do it.
I know this is 2yrs dated but They’re multiple videos of a boxer fighting a crowd and knocked out 6 people and he was not getting jumped, and a recent one of a guy named “Rohan” (his name was actually Rohan) beating up multiple people at once, so it all comes down to how smart and mentally disciplined the person is in a fight

This might sound like a minor detail, but look at how Huey's face changes on the beginning of the fight at 0:43 through 0:52. Watch it in slow motion if you can. His face goes from naive to serious to angry to pissed off in the span of less than 10 seconds.

The scene from 0:53 - 0:57 is the exact same fight sequence that they used in the fight between Sasuke and Orochimaru in episode 30 of Naruto. Orochimaru runs up to Sasuke, punches him right in the face, follows up with two more punches, a knee to the stomach and then knocks him to the ground with a straight jab.
