I believe our diy vans are stronger and can withstand the punishments of trail better. Also if something breaks or loosens, we can fix it np. I appreciate your comment of low and slow.
It cannot be overstated just how bumpy that one section of your route is. Went across there in September, felt like _hours_ to cross the 7 miles through Spalding Wilderness, checked my GPS data later, was only 90 minutes 🤣
Another great video my friend! There’s a reason yours is my favourite channel. I eagerly await every video and I’m never disappointed. I spend a lot of time in the outdoors and quite a bit of it not far from you. Seeing your videos of being out there by yourself 95% of the time inspired me to quit waiting for my friends to be available and just get out there by myself. Thank you for such great content and maybe I’ll run into you sometime. Cheers
This is an amazing trip! I did this route in September with a few friends. Every day is amazing. Thank you for mapping this route! Looking forward to learning about the next section into the Owyhee. Hope to do that leg next spring when it’s passable.
This looked like an awesome trip. The ranch was very cool. Too bad we are on the east coast or we would definitely try to do this one. I think my Colorado could make this journey.
I was wondering just how slow you take some of these roads....I really noticed how much slower I have to go compared to my fellow jeeper and pickup people. I started to feel like maybe I was just being overly cautious..Not too many other 4x4 vans out on the trails to ask question with...👍
I’m in a regular 4x4 truck and I go pretty slow same as Jason does. Mainly to prevent damage to my truck but also to keep my teeth from coming loose lol
Wow, what a literally awesome series! Thanks for the link to the route. I’d love to drive it on my little Honda CRF300 Rally adventure bike. Moto camping this route would be a blast!
Good series!I I also have a question on airing down. I'm traveling with a Chevy Express Van with a Quigley Conversion and always wonder about airing down with the weight of a finished Van. Watching your sidewalls it didn't seem as though you had aired down much if at all. Some of those areas surely would rattle fillings. Just curious.
Just my opinion but I travel a lot of the same areas as Jason and never air down. I tried it a few times in different terrain and didn’t notice a difference in performance or ride quality. So my opinion is if you don’t absolutely need to air down then don’t. I’ve been all over in the last 30 years in all kinds of weather and across every kind of terrain there is while driving several different vehicles and I don’t air down. Like I said though it’s just my opinion based on my experience others will undoubtably have a different opinion. At the end of the day or beginning of the trail it’s up to you whether or not to air down. Maybe go on a few short trips and go in and back out on the same trail. Try being aired down either on the way in or way out and don’t air down on the other way. Do that over some different terrains and see what you think. That should give you a good idea of what works for you. I believe there’s no right or wrong way of doing it, it’s always a personal choice. Cheers.
@@prepperjonpnw6482 Seems to me airing down would be tough on sidewalls. Fully aired may be a bumpy ride but better on tires. Of course the rocky terrain could be rough on van/truck etc. Sidewalls not as strong and the tread of tire.
We’re about a month away from heading out in our 4x4 Sprinter. We love your channel. What time would you say is the best time of year to do this route? Thanks so much
Thanks for sharing this and all the other videos. It looks like a great trip. Do you think any of the sections would be too rough for a 1500 pound trailer that has about 14 inches of clearance and independent suspension?

It is nice to know we still have wild places like this.
Living in Indiana, I always envy your view!👍🏻
I intend to have that experience. I just need to finish my truck build! 👍

Thanks, we have traveled through John Day on 395 but never traveled east , looks great.
This is a reminder that people are all bunched up in cities, or close to them, and there are vast areas with virtually no one. Thank-you for sharing.

I think I saw you today on i5 heading south in Vancouver Washington.
Great video. What PSI do you like to air down to on those roads ?

Fall is the best
Awesome trip. Make (copy) and Odysee Channel Jason!
When are you going to snow trip?
Thanks for sharing this and all the other videos. It looks like a great trip. Do you think any of the sections would be too rough for a 1500 pound trailer that has about 14 inches of clearance and independent suspension?
Yay!
Could this trip be done in a 2wd 1ton dually sprinter
Awesome video! Were you headed towards Bend on 20 in the snow storm this weekend? I swear I saw your beastly rig. Thanks for the awesome van content.
Where is Edward Shin?
Jason, any thoughts on "airing down" tires for rough sections? (I have not done so, though I know there are proponents.)

Way to short of a video, we need more. thumbs up
before you hit the alvord was that like a wagon trail road ?
Living in Florida it’s not much to see if anybody wants water more welcome to take some away and bring me dry-land or mountains
Beautiful country, but it would be much more interesting if you gave at least some clue as to your approximate route.
I'm getting the sense you guys aren't exactly "concerned" about triglycerides and LDL.
