I’ve been a homemaker for 22 years. I feel so blessed to have been able to raise my two children and keep a beautiful home. It’s not always been easy with one income, but we stayed within our means. Now that my children have graduated, I’m pursuing my passion and I’m now a student of Interior Design! I can’t wait to get out there and see what I can do. My heart will always be home with my husband and kids! 💕

I even want the kitchen all to myself, meaning, i decide what goes where and dont suggest i do things differently. Its my world, i am the house wife and I love it!! Lol. Sounds harsh. Womens lib stole so much from us.

After watching this, I found a table cloth that I usually only save for special occasions and put it on my table for a simple Tuesday dinner. You make everything look so beautiful; I feel “shlempy” when doing housework. Next purchase.... a cute apron. Thank you for the inspiration. Simply lovely.

My table is very scratched from the day to day of life and homeschool with six children... but I love putting a simple lace table cloth on in between meals and when we have guests! Instant elegance and camouflage for those scratches and paint stains!
I remember once our neighbor (who was raised in England) saw it and mentioned it reminded him of how his mother used to keep a table cloth on and how “you just don’t see that much now”. I’ve just always remembered that, and I think it does evoke a sweet yesteryear feeling.💕
loved seeing your table, too! Beautiful and relaxing video, Jennifer!

My mother - so long ago in the 1960s, had a little transistor radio on the counter near the ironing board and she would listen to music. She also kept a little bowl there with needle, threads, buttons, etc., so that she could do any repairs when she noticed a missing button or little rip. She would iron most of the day on Tuesdays for our family of 6. For years we had no dryer so things were more wrinkled. My laundry days are so quick and easy, and I don't need to iron much. We are all so blessed!

    (1) Thank you for showing that homemaking can be, and is a valuable art form. “Making a home” for my family is what I love to do, and it’s only been until recently that I have found confidence in “just” being a homemaker.
    (2) If you clip the stems of a hydrangea and place about 1”-2” of the stem in boiling water for about 30 seconds, then place the immediately into lukewarm water in your vase, they will last almost 3 weeks. ❤️

Oh how lovely this films you created. I love watching siletvlogs. It gives me calmness especially the music in the background. I love it especially when you put captioned instead of talking. Please do this more often. I found some cleaning videos similar to this...those Korean & Japanese vlogs...love them. I like this kind of style it feels like you're there cleaning with me at the same time and have a soothing music. Perfect combination! Keep up the good work Ms Jennifer. I like your style. I finally found a silent vlog cleaning that is perfect for me. Your silent vlog cleaning is on repeat whenever I start cleaning. Please make more of this style with caption. Thank you. 😊 oh subscribers of yours since day 1.❤ God bless your channel!

I use tablecloths and cloth napkins as well. I have glass tops made for all my wood tables. It doesn't cost much and protects the tops. Great on night stands, desks and kitchen tables. On my dinning room table I use a waterproof pad with a cloth on top.

I love this video of yours. New subscriber here. The calming music.. and text that come on the screen instead of the usual yapping away we so often hear.. this style of filming is refreshing. And I'm trying to ease into being a homemaker now from being a career focused woman before. Watching u do these mundane household chores and take pride in doing so is such an inspiration. Homemaking is actually such a noble job. You have to put ur ego aside to do it for your family and there isn't any fame or glam to it at all. But it's an important part in keeping the family happy.

For the years we had small children I purchased enough clear plastic sheeting by the yard from the roll in the fabric department of our discount store (don’t remember how many mils but it was sturdy enough to take the daily beating). I used it to cover the tablecloth for family meals. It prevented laundering multiple table cloths each day - and I “windexed” it after each meal! It sounds odd even now but it worked like a charm! It is also great to cover the table for cookie decorating marathons, craft projects,, even puzzles - the pieces don’t slip around. My sister-in-law used the plastic only without a tablecloth on their wood dining table. When it became too scarred and marred she cut it up to make book covers for her childrens’ textbooks. They attended a parochial school and textbooks were often bought used and then resold. Those plastic covers reduced the wear and tear much better than the paper book covers we used in the 70s. I still have a plastic table cover rolled up in a closet to pull out if needed. I love table linens and found a hunter green and white, large gingham check table cloth at Walmart in the 80s. I bought 4! I use them for every day, as a base to dress up with a vintage floral or graphic design square cloth layered diagonally, for spring, for fall, for Christmas, to cover the long, narrow folding plastic table I use as a buffet for holiday meals, family dinners, or parties. They are tough and wash like a dream. I use combinations of other tablecloths, runners, placemats and napkins - but the green and white check cloths have been the perennial workhorse for over 30 years! Can I be that old?

Baby boy with his curls, my goodness so precious Jennifer. What an easy yummy treat. I never thought to make that. The flowers were magnificent. Tablecloths are not just for special occasions. Well, maybe they are. Every day should be a special. Even if its routine and ordinary it's another day of life and that's special 🥰

What a lovely video! The tablecloth is a work horse in this house too. Each evening one is washed and the next day a fresh tablecloth is at the breakfast table topped with a bouquet or bowl of fresh fruit awaiting my family.

So nice to see a young family using table linens. We used them the whole time our five children were growing up. People thought we were nuts using tablecloths, napkins and (gasp) glasses and Corelle. Yes, glasses and dishes get broken, but that's what thrift stores are for--to inexpensively replace them! Children learn better manners when the table is set formally each meal, and we could take our children to any restaurant and not be embarrassed. In fact, several times our meals were paid for by other patrons who were so impressed with our five well-behaved children that they felt compelled to pay for our meal. Blessings! I love ironing too; it's a great excuse to watch a movie without guilt during the middle of the day. Keep up the good work! You are a wonderful inspiration to many.
