When I was in choir I was taught "diction is don't with the tip of the young and the teeth". Some English accents from around the world are slang so when they sing with the "proper technique" it sounds slightly north American. I don't get why though. 🤔
People in places sound American when they sing because they all grow up with American music. In the UK as a kid, my favourite artists were American with a little bit of British. It's like, think of singing as a language. When we all sang as kids, we all replicated and sang the songs we listened to. No matter where you go in English speaking western countries, most people sing in an American accent for this reason.
How did I miss this reaction? This is one of my fave artists, and I'm so glad you liked her!! You should react to Remi Wolf's album "Juno" if you want more music in a similar vein to this!
