I live in the US and here the cylinder deactivation was the biggest problem across GMs engines. A lot of people were getting them tuned to turn the cylinder deactivation off. It also makes the engine drink oil. But overall that doesn’t stop everyone buying an amazing car.
Also love how much detail you give on all your videos on your channel! Keep up the good work!

The Euro spec doesn't have that issue Jasper. It doesn't automatically deactivate the 4 cylinders unless you choose eco mode. In Tour, Sport and Track mode it will always stay in V8 no matter what you do.
Another issue was damage to the torque tube when going from V4 to V8 under WOT. US cars need to have it tuned out.
Don't know why the Euro cars are different?

@@ScottishCarClan In Canada my 2 C7 Z06s; 15 and 17 both had the M7 and the cylinder deactivation only became active in ECO mode. So no problem for me as I generally drove them in Sport or Touring modes. The cars with the A8 transmisssion faced the annoying cylinder deactivation in other modes. Most guys I know hate this feature and had it tuned out once the car was off warranty.
The annoying problem with the M7 is the "skip shift" feature that prompts you to go from 1st to 4th when under gentle acceleration below 2200 RPM. Once over 2200 the transmission opens for 2nd gear but if you force it into 2nd you can do some damage to the transmission. Definitely a PITA and something almost all drivers complain about. I simply got used to just shifting over 2200 and it really wasn't a big problem for me. Again this can be overridden with a little plug in device or programmer. The clutches on the cars are very robust but yes a very good idea to check carefully as the cars have a tall 1st gear and if not used right on take off can be worn quickly.
Interesting the Euro cars only came with the 6-speed auto. US/CAN cars only had the 6 speed auto in the 14 models. 15 and up models of all C7 corvettes had the 8 speed A8 available. And yes many had problems with that slushbox. Clunky transmission for the car imo. M7 all the way for me.
All in all the C7 Corvette is a great car and really fun to drive.
      Good review.

Nice job. In the process of buying very similar white/red C7 convertible. Much better deal currently than the C8 upon which dealers are piling on big surcharges. Shoutout to GM for their web deception aka 'build your own'. Zero excuse why we should not only be able to build our own but also to push it thru as a direct online order. Pretty much BS on their part.

I am buying a 2015 this Friday out of state. Went to see it a week ago and it was running bad, was in limp mode. Also the brakes were pulsing. Only has 12500 miles with the original tires, owned by a 70+ year old man who passed away. They were just starting it and mostly letting it idle, not driving much. The dealer says it had two fouled plugs. I can't understand how the rotors are bad, they are replacing all four with new pad and new spark plugs, with an oil change.

Hi. I have a 2019 C7 LT1 Stingray with 19 inch rear and 20 inch front tires. It has 9000kms on the dial. My question is: When I make a tight turn (left or right) at a slow speed (under 20kmh) for example in a parking lot or turning around on the street, the front end makes a chatter sound from the front wheels and it feels as if the front end of the car is dragging through the turn. This only happens at a slow speed. Is this normal?
