Awesome car! My wife and I just bought a 2019 C7 2LT Coupe (white, auto, red guts, only 3,000 miles!) over Memorial Day Weekend. We put 1/2 down and financed the rest for 60 mos. We had the same plan...stashed away extra cash and pulled the trigger when we were ready. Bought a GMC Syclone five years ago and haven't made any big purchases since. It was time! Now saving for a Buick Grand National.
Congratulations! I am a sucker for the Grand National as well! Deep down I am definitely more of an old car guy but needed something a little newer! Was going to pull the trigger on my dream old car before this one but couldn't find the right deal and the prices shot through the roof! But it will be in the garage soon!
You made a smart choice. That’s about as much car as you can get 40-50k. Don’t know what package you got but you’re essentially getting supercar performance and handling. Especially if you can find a good used one. I’ll never understand why these guys spend 40k+ on a mustang or Camaro with these out there. I can tell you I’m in my 40s and I financed 16 z51 2lt for 62k with 0 down and unless you’re making over 100k banks will fight you lol. I make 85k a year and had an 830 credit score with 25 years of excellent credit when I got mine and they still questioned it. I got it with a great rate but it came up lol. Good for you bud nice ride.
I appreciate it! I totally agree with you! When looking for what I wanted next there was really nothing that excited me without getting into the 80k-100k range and that just didn't make sense financially for me right now for a car I would be driving every day!
Mustang and Camaro’s are superior daily drivers and more practical with essentially the same performance on the street. The Vette is more of a weekend car, that’s why I bought a GT over a Vette.
@@KingMatt1e you ever driven a c7? This is something someone would say that has never owned one. Even a base c7 stingray will out perform an SS or Gt. It’s not even close. I’ve owned a 17 GTCS with the full ford power pack 3 and my corvette was still faster. Right now I own a z51 with a cam and exhaust and a Roush stage 3 making 675hp and the corvette blows the doors off the Roush in every way. Corvettes have 0 body roll. Drive that gt and take a hard turn in it. There will be body roll all over the place lol. I’ve driven zl1s, heavily modded SSs, some Roush mustangs and even 10 speed GTs and the corvette is faster and get better gas mileage. The options are better in every way. You don’t get door dings or hail damage on a vette because there is absolutely no metal on the car. Nothing handles like a vette either, there are maybe a hand full of 60-80k dollar mustangs that can run with a c7 but you start modding a vette it will eat those cars up. I spank hellcats in mine and it’s not even procharged yet. Corvettes can actually put the power to the ground and are lighter. I’ll put it to you this way, I’ve driven a 2012 Ferrari 458 and to me a modded z51 is pretty similar in performance. The Ferrari is faster up top obviously but a corvette definitely has more low end torque than a Ferrari. They drive pretty similar on a track though. The Ferrari is just a little more predictable
@@Sick_ridz yes, I’ve driven C6, C7, and cars MUCH faster than them and my 10 speed GT, you’re overrating them by a lot. You said you don’t know why guys spend 40-50K on Camaro’s and Mustangs and I said they’re superior daily’s with similar street performance. Obviously you had no rebuttal for the daily part but the street performance you’re overrating and talking about heavily modified cars when the convo is why people pick these cars over Vettes in the first place aka stock. Most people buying sports cars, especially the 65 year old men who buy Vettes new in the first place and think their Z51 with red seats is a collector cars and sits in a garage 98% of the time will NEVER take their cars to a track to experience it’s true handling capabilities or even drag strip. For example, my car, a 2020 10 speed PP1 I will never take to a track but the handling on this machine is unbelievable if I do want to take it in some nice backroads. You’re underrating the handling on newer Camaro’s and mustangs, they’re not like Chargers/Challengers compared to the Vette. Funny you mentioned ZL1 as an inferior car, I’ve driven one and it’s a monster. The little brother ZL1 has the same engine as the C7 ZO6, is much heavier and still faster around a race track than the Z06. Explain that one lol
And regardless, the Vette is no longer that ultimate sports car bargain anymore, this ain’t 2009 anymore lol. We live in a different era where a Kia crossover can do 0-60 in low 3 seconds, or a Tesla Plaid (I’ve driven 2, the SUB and sedan) would absolutely destroy your “modified” Vette on the street. I know acceleration and pure HP isn’t everything but a Mustang GT or Camaro have so many different models and trims that are ridiculously good at speed AND handling for a cheaper price. Hence why more people buy them over the Vette, also not as low and way more practical than a 2 seater. Hope that answers your question on why more people buy them over Vettes
Nice work! I'm 28 now. I bought 2 houses and invested right out of high school before I bought my Z06 this year so I could build net worth and passive income first without having to worry about mortgages anymore. It does feel good to get your dreams accomplished.

It would be a solid choice! But I have driven it almost daily for over 3 months and have loved it so far.
