- Synagogueinte Naatil (In The Land Of Synagogue) - 2011 is film based on historical facts. This film is in Malayalam with English sub-titles. The translation is wanting. I wish to thank Mr.Thaha Ibrahin for granting permission to upload this video. Thaha is a very special person who has lived and worked among the Jews of Jew Town Mattencherry, Kerala, India.

I'm proud we have accepted different cultures and religions in Kerala with full heart. Its sad Jewish community is reducing though. I wish we had more and more communities like these from countries with which Kerala was ever related.. Love you all!

+Essie Your Yes it is sad Jewish community from Kochi all migrated to Israel. I remember my mom used to talk about her Jewish room mate when she was studying medicine in 60's and she moved to Israel and used to write letters to mom.

Thank you for this lovely comment. I visited Kerala three times over the years, the Keralans are very welcoming and friendly people. I also went to Cochin to see the Jewish community. Felt really sad to know there are hardly any Jews living there now.....I pray there will be Jewish families returning to live here. God bless the Jews and Israel.

Simchat Torah is not The Festival of Lights, that festival is called ' Chanukah.' Simchat Torah celebrates the Jewish Holy book, The Torah.... There's some confusion here where the two festivals have been mixed up into one.

Isn't it funny but hearing Sadia speak, she sounded more like a Hindu as opposed to being Jewish, Christian or Muslim. After all it was in India that the Jews were able to carry on their traditions without any persecution

It looks like Jewish community came to Cochin after Bar Kokhba revolt (132-135 AD). In first century AD and early second century (Till 130 AD), Aramaic was the only spoken language of Jews. But when Bar Kokhba rose to power in 131 AD, he began to revive Hebrew as the spoken language of Jews. Israeli Archaelogist Yigael Yadin noticed the shift from Aramaic to Hebrew during Bar Kokhba revolt. The earlier Bar Kokhba documents are written in Aramaic while later Bar Kokhba documents are in Hebrew.

If there was a creator God who loved and cared about us. The evidence would be as follows:
1 Everybody would know of him and his commands and expectations. Multiple prophets all telling exactly the same story.
2 We would be emotionally mature. No petty arguments or wars.
3 We would have been designed better, no backache, baldness or cancer.
4 The earth would not have a cooling crust that is susceptible to volcanos, tsunamis, and earthquakes.
5 Bacteria and viruses would not exist or we would be immune.
6 The world would be designed in a way that we all flourished. Some people throw food away and have water on tap, some people experience famine and drought.
7 Adults would not believe or tell children ridiculous stories about talking snakes or flying horses, told as literal truths on pain of rejection if you did not believe.
I could go on. There is no evidence for God.
Life is a test. If there is no difficulty or pain, how do you know who is the best person who overcomes all difficulties with patience and good heart?
