Jess is the most sweetest person on the planet and she wasn't even trying there
hearing Jess talk about what this song means to her growing up and then her singing it live is one of those moments that gave you goosebumps on top of goosebumps. She's an amazing artist, and amazing singer and a great story-teller.
This is my favourite version of flame trees , especially when she just stops and starts looks intensely into the camera so purposely to drive the message home , a message of not just nostalgia but the heartbreak and anger and then continues .. amazing rendition
Every Australian knows the words to this song. It is a classic. Played at funerals etc. it’s a song of unrequited/failed love & all those memories that are conjured up. There is no one better then Jessica Mauboy to add emotion on top of the original recording..

Flame Trees are called "Illawarra Flame Tree". They drop all their leaves and flower red. the flowers are waxy and glisten in the sunlight. They're a beautiful tree and are dotted all over NSW. Illawarra is a part of south coast nsw, Ill assume by the name that thats it o.g.

Not bad. Clicked on video not expecting a cover of Cold Chisel song done well but she changed some of wording and style to suit her and was pleasantly surprised.
Think this was written by the drummer of band. Fantastic song that it can be done a different way and still sound very good.

Another great Australian singer right there. The only problem I have with her cover of this Cold Chisel song is she changed a line the line was supposed to be who needs that sentimental bullshit anyway. Not sentimental stuff. If you are going to cover a song then do so, don't change the words.
