Love Jessica I’m 80 and went to her concert wow she is as good as all these American singers ,when are Aussie singers going to to get a fair go ,🇦🇺🇦🇺🌹🌹🌹🌹
Great performance from Jess as always. Shout out to Daryl Beaton on keys and BVs. He plays keys for Delta when she's on tour as well. A great artist in his own right. Peace... ✌
Jess was on Idol not the Voice...but now she is a judge on the Voice and gives excellent support and advice to her chosen team. Dominic I have to say that although I was a fan of hers I did not follow her career closely....until now....Thanks to your support of her and the knowledge you share with us when you critique the artists. I have a renewed appreciation of her talent. Australia will make you an honorary Aussie lol.
She is absolutely beloved in the aboriginal community. She Embraces it while performing so beautifully, she was also in "The Saphires" about a group of girls who earned their fame performing in Viet Nam. Australia has a BAD history with the Aboriginals, I know my wife is aboriginal, and so is my kid. Jessica is a PRIDE of her community.
Now you need to watch Jessica's Australian Idol audition. 2007, everything against her (and the other singers) it was outside and windy and she took on Whitney Houston song and smashed it arcapella. From that minute on nobody has doubted her natural born gift. She is amazing. Also, did you know she has a successful movie and tv series to boot.
Nic I you're looking at discovering some great Aussie low range talent, Doug Parkinson (RIP) singing "Dear Prudence" and "I'll be around" and "Amazing Grace" will be sure to bring a smile to your face and give you a whole new rabbit hole to crawl into of Australian classic tunes. Doug was such beautiful and kind man as well and is such a loss to the music community!
You should watch a movie based on a true story about 3 aboriginal girls singing for the US army through the Vietnam war called the sapphires it’s on Netflix atm. Jessica is in it also. Many Australian singers don’t make it in America. Yet they make it here
Hi Nick, I found that encouraging when You spoke about Singers with Midrange Voices. I have one of those types of Voices. I've never been Recorded, I sing for Family and Friends out of pure enjoyment. I used to be insecure about My Voice and hear's why. I always Loved ❤ to Sing, even as a Little Girl. But because My Dad thought He was a Great Singer when He wasn't I was scared of singing in public. He was Tone-deaf and had no sense of Timeing. I'm the Baby of 8 Kids, 6 Girls, 2 Boys and 1 set of Twins. No We're Not Catholic. Mum had difficulties with Medication and Dad Refused to do anything. I was Mum's Little Surprise Package, She was 44 when I was born. Only one of My Big Sisters has a Good Singing Voice. Amongst My Siblings you either Sing or Play An Istrument. The next generation is a different story. I have a Niece who's a trained Soprano who plays the Piano, Cello and Violin. I'll start a second comment.
yeah jess lower reg hits me n ven she soars, so so gd. emotinal song she wrote bout herself. haha u just said wat i said bout v lower. realy like vis song frm jess. ta 4 reaction 2 it.
When I was 13 Mum and I left My Abusive Father. We moved from Brisbane to The Atherton Tablelands, Far North Queensland which is up a Mountain Range behind Cairns to My Mum's Home Town. Things got better for Me and I found a wonderful Father Figure. Mum's Sister's Husband was one of the Sweetest, Kindest Gentleman you'd ever meet. You could tell Him anything without judgement and He took Me Under His Wing. My Sister who Sings moved up too. She'd already Sung with one band before. She got together with another one featuring 2 of My 3 Closest Friends. We used to Sing together, just not in public. I used to Sing 3 Part Harmonys with those 2 Close Friends. 1 has that Higher Range, I'm Midrange and the other rounded it out with Her Lower Range. We once tried Singing without Her Lower Range. Another Friend who was there at the time told Us We were Good, but We could hear that something was missing. I'll start a third comment.
The 3 of Us only Sang together in public once. We were at a Party, Everyone had decided to take a break from Dancing. Most of the guests had gone to get something to eat and drink. One of Us spotted a Piano and We Performed Bette Midler's "The Rose 🌹". I was too busy enjoying Myself with My Friends to notice We'd drawn an appreciative audience. But of course We grew up and They moved away. Then when I was in My early 20's, a Family Friend had a Jam Session and invited Us along. They discovered I could Sing, a local music teacher complimented My Voice and Offered Me Lessons. From then on whenever I have a chance I'll usually Perform. In previous comments from different videos I've talked about Performing with My Other Close Friend's Late Dad. They're related to Troy Cassar Daley. I commented in Your video that introduced You to Him.
Nick ... you need to come to Australia and New Zealand so you can sing back up with these singers so you can actually improve your voice n technique .... plus have fun at the same time
Jess is great. But when it comes to "Australia's female singer", I have to say Kate Miller-Heidke will blow your socks off ;) (as per my request 😂😂😂) Her range will blow your MIND ;)
Mariah be hitting those whistle notes but she also be hitting those low notes as well, that's why she has an 5 octave plus range. Also Jessica is a huge Mariah fan
Hey fellow Australian fans. Can anyone please request some missy Higgins songs like scar or special two. I think she’s amazing but I got so many requests sent to nick already. Thank you in advance to anyone who can your amazing
I feel sorry for the people that publicly show how little they know about music by claiming Jess uses autotune 🤣. She absolutely engineers her recordings all Artists do but its clear that when she sings live its better than any recording she has ever done and the voice sings for itself. Nuff said the girl can sing.
Could you react to some Stan Walker please. A song called "Tua". It's English version is "Bigger" but it hits different in Te Reo Māori. Thank you! Love the reacts.
I don't know if it's just me or my crappy phone, but I am going to critique this. I have a feeling that down at NOVA, they have a poor sound technician. Whether it's the choice of microphone, a poor or damaged microphone, mixing, impedance matching, etc... it sounded narrow and even harsh. Just saying from a slightly trained ear, Jessica actually sounds better than this.

Try Natalie Imbruglia she has had some fantastic songs.
If you want great singing, a great voice, and a lower register, you need to listen to The Carpenters. Karen Carpenter was renowned for that.
Is this Jess Mauboys song? Can anyone tell me why I have a memory of Guy Sebastian singing this?
It's hers
