    PSA: I made an error regarding one of the card's effects. The Roboco 1/0's pseudo-encore effect actually doesn't send the card to the waiting room, and it triggers at the start of the Encore Step so you can't reorder it in any way - so the stuff I'm talking about in regards to ordering Encore is wrong for the Roboco. Sorry about that!

    This is really insightful video even if i have played only 4 games in total but i really liked to learn the proper resolution steps on how things should go, thank you so much ^^

    Thank you for this. Brand new player here because of hololive and I’m always asking my opponents if I can do what I’m about to do just for clarification 😂

    Good video, another common mistake I see is when players resolve an event that would refresh their deck they would immediately put the event in waiting room before the event resolves. Another mistake is resolving a free fresh ability and when they pick up their deck they look at the bottom card of the deck, revealing information of what's getting refreshed.

    Guilty as charged about paying the cost hahaha. Thanks for the reminder!

    D.E.B.T. puts you into resolution zone, one of my favorite statements.

      @@mafoozela7435 Damage, Events, Brainstorm, Triggers. These all go into the resolution zone, as opposed to being sent directly to stock/waiting room/clock. It's an easier way to remember.

    I have a question about encore step. Say its my opponents turn and I have a 0/0 miko drop search on the field that got reversed. Since you said the turn player does encore first, in this case my opponent, does that mean my miko is technically still on the field, meaning my opponent still has the option to pay 2 encore? Or is it when the encore step starts, both the turn player's and my revered cards are all sent to waiting room at the same time? Ty for the video!

    • @ChairmanTCG
      @ChairmanTCG  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes to your first question. Your Miko will still be on the field when your opponent (the turn player) is performing Encore, allowing them to pay (2) to Encore from Miko's effect.

    So when doing the universal 3 cost encore, would the technically correct order of operations be:
    Stage to waiting room -> Pay 3 cost -> Waiting room back to stage?
    Also for that clock encore scenario, the only way to encore would be that universal 3 cost, right?

    • @ChairmanTCG
      @ChairmanTCG  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Correct in both cases! With 1 card left in deck the only type of Encore you can't do is Clock encore, all other known Encore effects are legal.

    Is it ok if the position of my deck is at the lower side and my waiting room is at the upper side?
    (Just like the position of graveyard and main deck in yugioh)
    Gonna play tomorrow in springfest

    • @ChairmanTCG
      @ChairmanTCG  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah that's perfectly fine as long as it's clear to both players.
      However, if your match is being streamed the judges may ask you to put them in the standard locations for consistency.

    Hey, can you site your source on ruling 1?
    I'm not saying you're wrong in any way. I just want to verify because everyone I know pays cost first and then resolves the effect/plays the card.

    • @ChairmanTCG
      @ChairmanTCG  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No problem! If you've got your comprehensive rules handy, section 8.6 is where you want to look, in particular 8.6.2.3 and 8.6.2.4

  • @LilTylerPT

    My biggest pet peeve is when they take exact damage to bring them to 7 clock, but before they level up they take refresh damage as well. Either they’re just trying to save time or they’re being scummy and revealing what color will be in their clock. I’ll never know

    • @ChairmanTCG
      @ChairmanTCG  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Definitely unfair advantage being gained, it's something I'm always on the lookout for as a judge

    • @punk979
      @punk979 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ChairmanTCG I know this is an old comment but just wanted to verify..
      In the following scenario what is the correct order of operations:
      I have 5 cards in clock and 2 (non cx) in deck.
      My opponent swings for exactly 2 dmg.
      My thoughts were to refresh, take refresh dmg, THEN take the 2 and finally level. Is this wrong?

    • @Rickykun1
      @Rickykun1 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@punk979I'm pretty sure with the current refresh ruling it is top priority to take refresh before finishing all other steps and effects.

      Many Mushoku players will attempt to play the Pendant without blue in level/clock or without a Roxy on board.
