My name is Laurence, and this is my review of the Xiaomi desk lamp
Right out of the box, you get the lamp and a non-detachable power brick.
This is the connector that clicks right in; depending on your area, you may or may not need an adapter to plug in the brick.
The design of this lamp is minimal and simple; it is made from metal except for the base, which is made from hard plastic; it has only one physical button that controls the lamp, no touch controls. Not to mention this lamp has been awarded a reddot design award.
This lamp comes in only one color scheme, but I think the red wire will look great with any setup.
One bad thing about this lamp is you can only adjust the light up and down; you cannot turn the lamp. However, the lamp is very rigid, with no bending or the feeling of cheap materials been used,
Everything is controlled by one button. One press turns the lamp on and off. When the lamp is on, a double click turns on What Xiaomi calls “focus mode.”
A simple press and turn while holding the button down will adjust the color temperature of the lamp. This lamp can go from a color temperature of 2300k to 5000k.
Turning the button when the lamp is on will adjust the brightness. From my tests, with the lamp off and only my room light on, the shadow from my hand is very noticeable, and the pages are a bit dark. After turning on the lamp and using the lowest brightness, the shadow from my hand is noticeably weaker, and the book now brighter; with the brightness adjusted to the maximum, the shadow from my hand is barely noticeable, and the words are much clearer
I tried the lamp with some practice papers; with the lamp off, the shadow from my hand is very noticeable, and the paper quite dark, making it hard to concentrate. With the lamp turned to minimum brightness, the shadows weaken and the paper Much easier to read. Less strain on your eyes
If you have a laptop with a glossy screen, it can reflect the light, other than that the coverage of the lamp is huge, which I love. I did find using maximum brightness can make my work area too bright, making me squint my eyes. I normally keep it at around 20 to 30% brightness
You can adjust the color temperature to your preference; I like a more natural warm temperature, just a little orange.
The lamp can also be controlled by the mi home app by connecting the lamp to your home network. There is an on-off button, some pre-set modes made for certain occasions. By sliding up and down, you can adjust the brightness of the lamp; sliding left and right adjusts the color temperature of the light.
There are some pretty useful features found on the app; you can set a timer, so the lamp knows when to turn off; you can also schedule a time when the lamp turns on or when it turns off, which is great when you wake up in the morning, and it is still dark. There is a child mode that limits the maximum color temperature, which is a bonus.
Overall, I think it is a stunning lamp that does everything you expect from a lamp very well. I highly recommend it to anyone on the look for a new lamp.

Can i set this lamp with a dimming time function like everyday at 22:00 hours the lamp's brightness goes down to 10%? And throughout the day it stays at 100%?

Be noted that the Mi Home App does not work in a public wifi like a clinic or hospital public wifi

The colro of the lamp itself is a little bit different from the base. Is that normal? Or is the product that I received is fake?

Can it only be turned one way? Forwards and backwards it is not possible?
I'm not sure what your asking, the lamp can only be folded in one axis, up and down.

i got this one, then it started making this beeping noise and won't turn on. What could be the issue?
Have you tried resetting the lamp? There is a reset button underneath the lamp. Hope this helps

Hi Asif, the lamp is connected to mains power, so will need to be plugged into the wall. It does not support power bank as power source. Hope this answers your question.

may i know how many brightness level there is ?
Good question; from my testing, it looks like there are 12 levels of brightness.
I mostly use it at the lower brightness levels because I have my ceiling light as the main source of light.

I want to know it means that it is Continuous and not discrete like silverlight lamps that has just 3 level of color temprature?
I mean when we set to forexample 2800 kelvin it really gives us that kelvin or it is normally just have forexample 3000 -4500 -6000 kelvin ?
