    Ticked off the Bucket list this year. Came from Australia rode from Vegas to Sturgis then Salt Lake City Chicago to Milwaukee. Got there for Bike night Thursday. Also did the motor plant. So loved America definitely coming back again. Spent 21 days in total.

    Nice bikes and good looking blond... what more could a guy want. Yes, the company is showing signs of abandoning its American roots now... but maybe we can change that with enough pressure. And it does not destroy the beautiful past of the company and the men who built and maintained it. I'll not buy another new Harley until they re-commit to being an American made only company. But there are enough cool bikes extant that new ones are not necessary anyway. ...you listening Harley? You care?

    • @justincool613
      @justincool613 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I have an xg750 and love it. It was made at the Kansas City plant. Any Harley sold in America is made in America. Any Harley sold overseas is made overseas. There trying to spread the global business and save the company.

    • @hoss6048
      @hoss6048 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      When it is all thought out, designed,researched and developed in some other country then it will be un-American. It is an American company that has plants all over the world. The ones made here are for here and that’s fine with me.

    Are WLA's worth anything these days?

    • @andrewward1887
      @andrewward1887 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've seen restored ones go for less than 20k think they are to complicated to ride for the average rider, tank shift , foot clutch, hand engine timing adjustment , kick start , zero suspension , and you have to know how to use tools today's Harley riders only know how to polish chrome and ride to the nearest dealer to buy a new t shirt along with everyone else.

    • @RookieRay
      @RookieRay 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Andrew Ward haha makes sense. There is a 20 step process in the army manual to just start the WLA. I’ve got one that has been painted black really poorly and had a bad electrical job done on it. I might just turn it into a chopper

    • @andrewward1887
      @andrewward1887 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RookieRay I would just take it apart and restore it back to original not army colors they are reliable it only has a head light and tail light and ignition and battery wiring and you can get a premade harness for probably $70 I would ride it around the country

    • @samb2773

      Harley has suffered years of declining sales and since the tarrifs on motorcycles in the EU. Plus Harley's are only assembled in the U.S. to think that they are 100% American is insane. In our failing market compared to potential growth in other markets, tarrifs and the fact that U.S. Harley's will continue to be assembled in the U.S. I understand the belief and fear of them moving some of there production to other countries but if you look at the facts it's clear they have been struggling for years and this is what they need to do to survive

  • @northerniltree
    @northerniltree 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Made in America is great, until your product gets suddenly heavily taxed in a main European market, due to retaliation on a new American trade policy. So, does it make sense to build the European-bound bikes in Europe to offset the profit eating tariff? Or, should the Motor Company abandon this option to soothe the angry enthusiasts here in the U.S.? After 115 years of making tough, but necessary business decisions- indeed, keeping the Motor Company alive as the only survivor from its founding (sorry, Indian) we shall see what path the company takes.
