- At two years and eight months, they live in Cardiff, having moved with their father, Ibrahima Ndiaye, 50, from their birth place of Senegal.
It's been a journey of hardship, with the family swapping a prosperous existence for one of hostels and food banks.
The girls are now safe, but a shadow looms.
Marieme's heart is weak - so weak, she may die.
If this happens, her stronger sister Ndeye will die with her.

The updated news about the twins is that a new scan shows that their circulatory systems are far more interlinked than the doctors' first thought. They are dependent on each other for survival and a separation is impossible, but they are now 3 years old and are happy, healthy and starting nursery in September. God bless them and I pray and hope they have a long, happy life together.

Those little darlings are so adorable!! Such a hard decision that no parent should ever have to make. There is no right answer and any answer will be filled with guilt. He's right to just enjoy the time he has with them, cherish them in the moment while they're both still alive and let tomorrow be tomorrow's worry. My heart goes out to him 💜💜💜

What a fantastic father, full of unconditional love. The girls have learnt to be warriors from their father, and I hope that he stays strong, so the girls stay strong. In New Zealand this is called Kia Kaha, stand strong, stand true.
