I have a 2007 2.0T 6 speed standard and a 2010 2.0T XWD 6 speed automatic. I love them both! The 2007 has 218,000 mi and almost everything is original! Very reliable. I replaced a few things, but it has been good overall.
Friend of my has this car (9-3 1.8 Turbo,GM/Opel engine) from 2003. Automatic. Drives very nicely, quit , good acceleration, road holding, comfortable. But he has a coolant issue; it uses a lot coolant. Maybe (i don't hope so) the head gasket, or/and waterpump. There is no white smoke from the exhaust, not yet at least.
I have the same car, amazingly easy to work on and seems to never die. Treat it well :) 12 years of ownership is amazing.

Hey these are known for the coolant container to crack/break, super common easy fix
Looks like the headlight lens application didn't hold up that much after a year. It already looks yellow again.
The headlights were restored on this car more than two years ago. The right side is holding up well, the left side is hazing for some reason.
I have a very low mileage 2008. Ignition failed twice. Very expensive.
