Ok, Thank You Mandi, for the recipe! I wrote that one down in my recipe book :) That'll be my next new thing I make. I do not do the Keto meals but this one sounds and looks delicious for sure. Kenny, I sure hope you convince Mandi to join you with a full video some day. I know she comes with some times, but would be fun to see you both doing the video. :) Thanks again for another great video. I've been going back and watching the oldest to newest videos, so that's why you're seeing my comments on all the older videos recently. It's been so fun.
It's taken a long time for Mandi to come around. In her last video, she made a few appearances. I think it was nice for people to finally see who Mandi is. Lol. I'm sure the bugs will settle down by then. These first hatches are always super hungry. I really like my old 6.0 gas. It was a thirsty engine but plenty of power. The big problem was when Mandi and I went out west 5 years ago. I was going through the Mountains with the truck camper, no problems, the truck didn't mind the sustained 4 to 5k RPM's, but Mandi did. The sound of the motor, the drone inside the cab from high RPM's gave Mandi the worst headache. After a few days she told me this would be her last trip out west with me. I agreed the sound was excessive. I bought the diesel and was surprised how much quieter it is. I convinced Mandi to go on another road trip in the current truck. It was night and day difference. She is back to traveling with me! Of course every truck is diffrent depending on aftermarket exhaust systems.
if the mosquitoes are as bad as they are here i feel your pain, it is so wet up here by LOW that everything is flooding, docks are floating, mosquitoes loving it haha
The other thing about you and your channel...you are genuine and I mean that ax a compliment. Thus you won't get rich. Kenny i love your vidoes. I full timed it back in 96 bdfore it was cool.i tbinkthe internet and cell pbones really enable info sharing on good rv and camping stuff. But i do wish for the old xays in some areas. For example I wish more camp ground management entities saved more sites for drive up registration instead of all online. Now folks paY for online nights they don't intend to use just to ensure site is available on a weekend.
💯 CORRECT! I hope things change. So many spots are online registration with little to no first come first served sites open. I see the same thing with people paying for spots and not showing up. Another issue is with people setting up tents on public lands during the week, only to save the spot for when they arrive on the weekends. I also see locals setup in rustic and dispersed campsites with their camper, they keep them in parked for 14 days, but only use it on the weekends. Then they swap spots with each other occupying the same sites all summer long. Hopefully things will change on day.
@@KennyOfAllTrades Roger that! I have seen the same things Kenny. As a career military guy who went from a high rise Truck cap to a slide in pop up to the ram 3500 class c truck camper I have camped extensively instate parks and national forests in the southeast to the northeast up to Maine. Hello Kenny! We have been enjoying your channel for awhile now and thought we would introduce ourselves. We love meeting fellow TH-camrs and explorers! We enjoy your videos because you do the kind of camping we also like to do. We are hoping to go full-time in a few months with our pop-up truck camper! We are from WI but are looking forward to exploring Minnesota! 💙Terry and Terri
That area was a beautiful location but man the bugs were thick. Glad that you found a quite spot to camp and thank God you had some OFF. Nice drone shots. Thank you, Mandi and Kenny. That really made our day. I will be going shopping and trying that recipe tomorrow. Fred says it looked delicious. We can't wait to try it. Mary💕Fred
It WAS you!! You missed the most beautiful spot though...the one straight across the road from the vault toilet! Beautiful except for the fact that people had left a bunch of trash there! Your channel just popped up on my TH-cam feed this morning...I guess my phone must have known we were in the same forest this weekend!
AWESOME! I have had my eye on that spot for some time now. I tried getting in there last year but my campers to tall. You guys must have been on the ATV'S? I was out fishing while you were passing by. That's to bad about the trash. I just don't understand people sometimes. I'm out every weekend somewhere north of Brainerd making these videos. If you see me again stop by and sayHI. Thanks for checking out the channel!
@@KennyOfAllTrades - no, we weren't on ATV's. We have a 16 foot mallard Pathfinder - it sits pretty tall too because it's an "off road" camper...but we just fit to get in there. We were very surprised to find the spot open when we arrived Friday...especially with all the people in the area! Town was crazy busy when we went in to get bait Saturday morning!
Yes, take a shower, get clean, Mandy, your wife will enjoy you clean and well fed. Lol. Looks good keto recipe, I would enjoy more.. Would enjoy seeing your wife but understand if she doesn’t want to be seen.
Mandi and I have been dating for almost 10 years now. One day I'll pop the question! (Mandi I know you will read this, don't worry, I'm not poposing to you over TH-cam). We both have kids to raise, (my kids are older, one out of school and one in High School) jobs to go too and houses to maintain. We live about 35 minutes apart. Unfortunately we work opposite shifts, that is why she don't travel along with me all the time. Before the TH-cam channel I was doing these adventures on my own. I would FaceTime Mandi to show her my camping spots. It was her idea to start the channel so she could follow along. We are both independent and enjoy our time together and apart. In fact Mandi is flying down to Florida with the kids tomorrow for a week. Tomorrow morning Im headed to a State Forest up north that I've never visited. I should try to stick to the keto diet, it's Mandi's thing, she is not sugar addicted like me. I noticed people have been enjoying the Keto recipes. I will ask Mandi to set me up with her favorite dishes.
Not really. I've had the Rad Mini 4 quite a while. It's been heavily modified. There's nothing stock on that bike. Everything has been upgraded. I did use a new bike in the video that drops tomorrow. It's called a Troxus. It's a full size non folding bike. It still fits in the back seat. I'll be making a review of that bike soon.
I assume once your off grid you have to use your generator to recharge the bike ( unless one had an amazing solar system with converter to 120 ) , how long does it take to recharge a depleted bike battery ?
Yes, the generator, or I have a 1100 watt inverter mounted in the back of the truck where I keep the bike. I charge the battery while I drive. I left it charge overnight before (by accident), the truck started fine the next morning. I can get about 35 miles per charge. It takes any where from 4 to 6 hours to recharge the battery.
@@KennyOfAllTrades That does come in really handy then to charge as you drive, similar but different idea to the house batteries as of course 12 volts in their case. Having said that, have you ran extra heavy wires from the alternator to your inverter and house batteries to allow it to carry more amps ( you may have an amp limiting device on the truck ) . As I have referred to my brothers ford/camper in the past, I don't know what the deal is with that alternator as it does not put out the voltage I am used to alternators putting out and therefore its a pathetic voltage that reaches the house batteries and as a result it takes a lot of engine running hours to recoup the house batteries, far from ideal in my mind for his setup just feeding off of factory truck wiring routed to the rear of the truck. With his unit I am assuming heavier wiring and one of those fancy magic boxes that increase the voltage at the house batteries to actually charge them properly would be very helpful .. and more solar then his small factory setup panel puts out.
I don't have one of those fancy DC to DC chargers. I have #2 wires running from my dual altornators to my 3000 watt inverter in the camper. It runs the AC nicely while the truck is running. I have #4 wire running from the altornators to a 1100 watt inverter in the rear of my truck. I use it to power a microwave, recharge the bikes batteries and power tools. I even use it to power a crockpot while on long road trips. The truck will smell like a potroast. In order for my altornators to produce full voltage the lights have to be on. ( the whole smart charging system) So I wired the inverters through a silinoid powered by my head light switch. Here is a video showing some of it. th-cam.com/video/VN5VKfpROHI/w-d-xo.html
@@KennyOfAllTrades I have not watched the video yet but I see from your wire sizes and two alternators and the ability to run the roof air, having two inverters, that is some setup and certainly not a common setup. I don't know at what point pickups came out with that silly smart alternator system but I gather its fooled techs that have had nothing to do with them and have thought alternators have gone bad that are working as intended.
My altornators output also drops down when the trucks batteries are not calling for power. I guess the truck is supposed to run more efficiently that way. In my manual it says the altornator output will vary, and it's controlled by the ECU. It also says the altornator will provide maximum output when the headlights are on. That's way I have the silinoid hooked up to my headlight switch. When I am running the truck my voltage to the house batteries is 14.1 to 14.7. I have never measured wattage input, that would be interesting to know how many amps the camper batteries are receiving from the truck.
The bike in this video is the Rad Mini 4. I absolutely love having a bike on my adventures. I'm able to explore so much farther than on foot. I only have the weekends, so it's important to cover ground quickly. I recently did a mini review on the Engwe Ep-2 pro. It's also an awesome bike. I'll put a link to that video below. th-cam.com/video/t0kpe6sQIhA/w-d-xo.html
Always great to see your videos! I saw you on hwy 6! I was in Remer recoating the roof on my 2006 AF811. How has your roof held up? Also, I am looking into a folding electric bike - which one do you have? Seems to handle most everything you throw at it and has good range? Again, love seeing your videos- gives me more ideas for exploring. Thanks!
I think I'm going to put a coating on the roof for the first time tgis summer. I have Eterna Bond tape on the edges, branches have scraped the folding edge one to many times. Other then that the roof is holding up fine. I really like my bike. It's a Rad Power Mini 2. The company name is Rad Power Bikes. The range and power is really good stock, however, I've upgraded most of the parts. I saw a Bike for sale in Brainerd on Market Place. It was an Lectric brand. They are very popular, I have seen a bunch of good reviews. I was thinking about buying it for Mandi, but my Drone broke this week. I have to replace that now. He was asking 900 bucks. It's been for sale for a few weeks. He might take 800, that would be a great deal. Thanks for following along!
Sorry about that....its in Minnesota. I still work a Monday through Friday job, not much time for big road trips. I've been making these videos every Tuesday for the last year, the channel hasn't grown a lot. So I forget that there are new viewers showing up that don't know situation. Thanks for watching!
To much! 36 gallon tank at $5.29 a gallon. 190 bucks ouch! The only good thing is I average 13 mpg with the camper. My old chevy with the 6.0L gas averaged 8 mpg with the camper. It all averages out the same in the end with the higher maintenance costs of the deisel.
It was bad. It must have been the first hacth of the year. Last week in the Chippewa Forest I didn't have any mosquitoes. At work today everyone was complaining about how bad the mosquitoes were.
Love trying new keto recipes. Please thank Mandy for us.

Do you carry a blood supply with you in case you need a transfusion? Those mosquitos are crazy😮.
That's is 💯 true!
How do you like your bike?
I am thinking about getting one?
What brand is it.?
The bike in this video is the Rad Mini 4. I absolutely love having a bike on my adventures. I'm able to explore so much farther than on foot. I only have the weekends, so it's important to cover ground quickly. I recently did a mini review on the Engwe Ep-2 pro. It's also an awesome bike. I'll put a link to that video below.

What state??
Sorry about that....its in Minnesota. I still work a Monday through Friday job, not much time for big road trips. I've been making these videos every Tuesday for the last year, the channel hasn't grown a lot. So I forget that there are new viewers showing up that don't know situation. Thanks for watching!
How much does it cost to fill up that Diesel ⛽️
$$$
Thanks Kenny for sharing your Holiday weekend adventure. Are you having issue's with your slide-out when it rains.
No, it was just for precautions. That, and to help keep out the mosquitoes.
Too many mosquitos.
It was bad. It must have been the first hacth of the year. Last week in the Chippewa Forest I didn't have any mosquitoes. At work today everyone was complaining about how bad the mosquitoes were.
