We had 3 cinemas in Oldham all beginning with the letter T.Thaybeecee, Thodeon,Thempire. Keep up the great work Steven and hope to see the starlings soon.
Thank you so much you dear man, I have seen the city of my birth and I’ve seen it is magnificent it is wonderful it’s alive it’s a great place. Thank you mate. In me you have someone who really appreciates your work
Good Evening Steve. Incredible Narration as ever. Very Interesting about the area of places being changed. I did like the establishment with the Beatles Memrobilia. What has happened to our Good old fashioned Cinemas that you used to go with your Family and Friends. It is very sad, that our Nostalgia is dissapearing from our streets. It was a very Good way of Socialising and being with people. The Excitement of waiting to see the next new Movie. All the Best to you Steve. Jonathan. ☺👍👍
Myself and a friend visiting Blackpool a week today and we're staying till Sunday. We are coming from Stockport in Manchester. We had tramtown tour booked but sadly been cancelled. However we have lots booked. We are booked on both the ghost walk and the ghost tram. Hole In Wand crazy golf booked. illuminated tram ride booked. Also there for the last fireworks championships for this year. Maybe booking a heritage tram ride. Think we may try the victorian crazy golf.
Hi Stephen thank you for another great video as always so many changes happening in Blackpool they need to sort out the not so nice bits that bingo hall looked nice have a great day xx
We've had electric buses in Glasgow for a while now and all they did was break down in the really warm weather we had, maybe not as good as made out. Well done Stephen for another good video. Keep safe.
Maybe they brake down because how much use they have 24/7 all day. Must be hard. My opinion is never to get an electric public transport vehicle or even electric vehicles for everyday use for company’s because it will be a nightmare. I know because one of my family works at a company what uses electric vans and they brake down all the time.
We usually went to the pictures when on holiday in Blackpool. I remember seeing The Empire Strikes Back (I think at the ABC) and For Your Eyes Only at the original “Funny Girls” Odeon.
12:30 - I think that's where the Gas Club was. There's another similar Blackpool Transport building just at the end of Waterloo Rd, before the prom. It was offices but now quite tasteful Art Deco flats. Getting Pontin's customers on Saturdays from the site to the Coliseum was fraught for us cabbies. You couldn't use the prom as it was always jammed with traffic. So it was up Bond St then a mad start-stop-start up Bolton St which took you to the Colly, but we got there! So many memories - thanks Stephen.
I also remember the Railway club at the South end of Blackpool. The LMS Club. My Grandad had another name for it, Ell of a mess club. But he was happy to play the piano when they asked him to. A couple of jars and away he went.
I actually live on the street near the manchester where that building was knocked down, some kids robbed it after the police raided it then burned it its happened a few times on that street.
Hi Stephen thanks for another great video i use to stay in a hotel on tyldesley road years ago it was a great wee hotel, you could hear the trams coming out of the station early in the morning, i loved it but it sadly closed down😊
It would be worth a trip down kent road we have a tumble dryer, A sofa and the contents of at least 2 wheelie bins on the street. I will be sad to go home in a few days this has been the best blackpool experience of my life I just love the urban feel of the area.
Hi Stephen, Your “here in Blackpool” & we are here aboard Celebrity Constellation ready for sail away from Venice, East Med cruise. Wish you were here. 😜
Hello again Stephen. another part of Blackpool that I’ve not seen before. A lot of new houses. I remember the windmill that was there a long time ago. I’ve seen Cliff and the shadows in the 1960’s in Blackpool but I don’t remember where it was . Another interesting walk on the wild side. Thank you very much Stephen. 👍🥰❤️❤️❤️
There was a cinema on the north shore it was opposite the Metropole hotel I watched Moonraker there in 1979 , unfortunately it was turned into a nightclub. Don't know what it is now
Good video Stephen, my Dad run a few cinemas and I have one of his hats in my car, ABE Cinema cap. He also made beer at Basses, I was born in Burton but never liked Bass, but love John Smith’s. I have another gift for you to do with Basses. ❤
Went into a cinema, yesterday, and saw IMax advertised on one screen. I asked what it was, and very interesting. Curved sides. We have come far from the flea pit and the square screen and cine projector, with a man behind it. Do they still have ushers stand at the front, halfway through?

The houses on the right, just after the bridge on Rigby Road, that was a coach park latterly, Seasiders Coach Park iirc.

I remember the Gas works club. The Dog racing track was very close and coaches parked up opposite.
I also remember the Railway club at the South end of Blackpool. The LMS Club. My Grandad had another name for it, Ell of a mess club. But he was happy to play the piano when they asked him to. A couple of jars and away he went.

Hi Stephen, my wife and I ran the Pavilion for five years in the late eighties.
Great stuff. I remember watching The Black Hole there
@@AWalkontheWildSideBlackpoolCan’t remember showing that one. Top Gun, Rocky4, and Three men an a Baby are a few that come to mind.
Am I right in thinking that Rigby Road was also a large coach parking area in the 80's.?
Yes Roy. The Coliseum.
Yes there was, also a Small Coach Station which was used by the Companies not allowed to use the Coliseum.
Really enjoyed this movie Stephen, great work.
There was a cinema on the north shore it was opposite the Metropole hotel I watched Moonraker there in 1979 , unfortunately it was turned into a nightclub. Don't know what it is now
