It's finally here! One of my favorite things that I loved to do was creating a NG+ in GoW II just to wreck everything in my path with the Blade of Olympus. It was really satisfying
Fun fact: In Valhalla when Týr Talks about Kratos opening Pandora's Box and it shows how He Stabbed himself, if you listen carefully the first few seconds you can hear The Humming sound from the Blade of Olympus in as well as when he impales himself in God of War 3, during The lines... Týr: "When the evils from the box were purged what remained was hope, which you chose to release back to the world."
And people said that the Blade of Olympus moveset is only a copypaste of the Traveler even when the old game said otherwise. Those movesets had always been with Kratos since GoW 2 & 3. 😅

The newest Blade of Olympus in Valhalla is like taking all the good things from the Blade of Olympus from the old games and combining them into one weapon. A Rage mode only gimmick/prop weapon like GOW3. Able to wield it like a proper weapon instead of a gimmick/prop weapon in GOW2. Shooting laser from GOW2. Better moveset from GOW3 that lets you glide around the battlefield and has the closing in power. Stopping power from GOW3 (I tried fighting Travellers, Dragons, Dreki, Huntresses/Stalkers, Wulvers and all sorts of mini bosses with Blade of Olympus and it is the only weapon that is able to attack and stagger/break them out of their attack animations).
Yup. Even in Ps All Star Battle Royale where his Lv3 has him getting Bigger and Gaining God Armor with his regained Gow Powers and using the Blade there is No Electricity Coming out of the Blade of Olympus.

This was pretty good, even tho i had teeny tiny disagreements here and there i still enjoyed this because i got to learn a lot which is the mark of a good ranking/comparison video. A good comparison draws a contrast that fleshes out the details and nuances we couldn't see before let alone appreciate them. And i love the sense of humor and energy here. Although statistically GOW 2 Blade of olympus is on top 1 based on your five categories, but as you said it is a personal opinion. 47:45 It would be better if you added a sixth category named accessibility but since you tried to make familiar like the previous ones (Blades and Magics Comparaison) therefore it doesn't matter. Absolute banger of a video. Watching this in detail I noticed that the blade of Olympus in Valhalla combined the best qualities from its predecessors into the blade. It combined the move-sets from gow 2 and gow 3 and balanced them. The utility is perfect too; not as broken as gow3 but I can understand why; they don’t want you to cancel out of cyclone of chaos 😂😂
The only downside is that the laser is shit. Considering how much rage meter it depletes, it should either have a piercing (maybe + a little knockback) or a bigger damage.

The blade is probably electrified in 2 and parts of 3 because it still has some of zuces lightning within it. I have no proof of this but it is now cannon
One thing I mentioned in your last post about this video is thst the best way to use the BoO in Ragnarok is to pair it with the Ares armor (main chest piece), it occasionally drops health stones with every rage hit and they deal massive damage, have big stagger potential and refill your rage (when wearing the chest piece), just wanted to throw that out there in case someone was unaware and needed a new way to play the game
Thank you, but this is still kinda irrelevant to the video. Maybe it would've helped for the damage category, but even then, GoW2 would've come out on top. Most of what you describe has to do with the Rage factor rather than the Blade factor.

Ragnarok's sounds are not bad, they are just not loud enough. A lot of the times the audio balance is all over the place in Ragnarok for some reason. You barely can hear the chain sound when you slam the blades to the ground which was very satisfying in 2018 for example.
I am so glad I wasn't the only one who felt like God of war 3 did the blade of olympus dirty in terms of damage it was so insanely underwhelming damage that I bearly used it and it sucks because it's one of my favorite weapons
In my opinion Valhalla's feel pretty weak compared to the other rages (doesn't cleanse ststus....doest stagger enemies on activation.....you lose health instead of rage during it) Even though its my permanent rage choice, i wish when you hold the button atttacks it would do a range kinda attack like gow 2 when you max it out
Holding attack buttons (R1, R2, ∆) cleanse status since getting healed cleanses debuffs So yeah like Zesty said it is a strategic rage-like-weapon I also think the L2 attack should be stronger too because in GoW2 it shreds and it uses a lot of rage in Valhalla
Yeah, i also think the L2 attack is pretty weak in valhalla. I was trying to make the point that other rages in gowr are brainless (just activate it in the correct time, thats it). Legacy feels like if you are not focused so you are parrying/dodging all the attacks you can die really easily like with any other weapon.....doesn't feel as powerful/godly as the others. Also, because enemies are kind mobile its easy to miss a hold attack and it feels pretty sad, I think shooting lazers with hold attacks would fix that (talking about playing in the highest difficulty with the burden of breach)

GoW2 Blade of Olympus is my personal favorite for one single but very important reason. It’s a sub weapon. I wield it freely and that means the world to me.
Also the BoO in Valhalla restore your health with the charged attacks and it can be used in the main game so you can have a rage build to complement the BoO i dont like doing builds but i know how much variety it adds to every walkthrough for the game
The thing i love most about GoWRV Blade of Olympus is that in story mode you can make a build where you can use it infinitely (sort of), there's one armor piece that has a chance to drop rage stones, then combine that with another armor piece that increases the amount of rage and health restored from stones, i beat most Berserkers that way using just the BoO the whole time. My top 4 would be: 1:Valhalla 2:GoW 2 3:GoW 3 (i don't like to use it in 3, feels weak) 4:GoWGoS (never played the PSP games so idk how it feels)

In gow ragnarok ng+ i used a blade of olympus specific rage build I forget what the specifics were but what i remember is Cuirass of ares+ Fate breaker gauntlents+ Fate breaker belt+
I hate the gow 3 rage personal opinion, kratos just moves so fast that i miss most of my attacks, also in gow 3 the blade feels like it has no weight to it, in gow 4 the blade is a little bit too slow, in gow 2 it is the perfect speed showing that kratos is wielding a heavy sword but with good speed unlike gow 3 where he is flinging a cardboard sword randomly My ranking 1. Gow 2 2. Gow valhalla 3. Gow 3 4. Gow Gos (because you cant use it on main story)
Hi zesty really loved the comparison i have a note about the electric effect as i know i don't know if this info is true or not but the blade take the energy of the wielder so that electric effect comes from that zeus is god of thunder wich exeplain the electric effect and if you ask in the end of gow 2 when kratos is wielding it has elecricty beause he had just took it from zeus and in 3 it just takes extra power from the source it has been made of wich is the sky so when kratos finish some one he take extra power from the lightning i really love the attention to detail in this so yeah i hope that exeplain why the effect does not appear in later games so yeah all the love to your hard work and i hope you continue
Maybe the Blade of Olympus is powered by and scales off the number and power of the gods of Olympus, the more gods and more powerful gods there are alive the more powerful it is, would make sense then it's the least powerful in God of War 3 when there are only a few gods are left alive and why it's the most powerful when wielded by Zeus the god of the olympian gods and it's his own weapon so by God of War Ragnarok: Valhalla DLC it's in it's weakest form because the only gods of olympus left are Kratos and Athena but Kratos uses it with much more precision and strategy and a calmer more tactical mind since he cooled off in temper and rage.

I hate the gow 3 rage personal opinion, kratos just moves so fast that i miss most of my attacks, also in gow 3 the blade feels like it has no weight to it, in gow 4 the blade is a little bit too slow, in gow 2 it is the perfect speed showing that kratos is wielding a heavy sword but with good speed unlike gow 3 where he is flinging a cardboard sword randomly

Hi zesty really loved the comparison i have a note about the electric effect as i know i don't know if this info is true or not but the blade take the energy of the wielder so that electric effect comes from that zeus is god of thunder wich exeplain the electric effect and if you ask in the end of gow 2 when kratos is wielding it has elecricty beause he had just took it from zeus and in 3 it just takes extra power from the source it has been made of wich is the sky so when kratos finish some one he take extra power from the lightning i really love the attention to detail in this so yeah i hope that exeplain why the effect does not appear in later games so yeah all the love to your hard work and i hope you continue
I'm pretty sure the electricity is from zeus himself, and when kratos charges the blade, it shows that it also possess the power of zeus

Maybe the Blade of Olympus is powered by and scales off the number and power of the gods of Olympus, the more gods and more powerful gods there are alive the more powerful it is, would make sense then it's the least powerful in God of War 3 when there are only a few gods are left alive and why it's the most powerful when wielded by Zeus the god of the olympian gods and it's his own weapon so by God of War Ragnarok: Valhalla DLC it's in it's weakest form because the only gods of olympus left are Kratos and Athena but Kratos uses it with much more precision and strategy and a calmer more tactical mind since he cooled off in temper and rage.
Gow 2 Kratos and Ps All Stars Battle Royale Kratos also used it pretty well too
