    Just another tip to add Is to read and read before taking any steps. Endmyopia.org
    + Keep in mind Active focus is the ability to clear up a small amount of blur not a big amount of blur and that can be done using normalised glasses for distance and differential for close up :)

      Really great tips! So true!
      You are so right about the reading! You want to understand what you are doing before messing about with it. I did a lot of reading before I started, felt like I understood, and then I keep finding new things and thinking, 'Oh. Well that would have been handy to know...'. With so much info, it's hard to know when you have got your head around everything, because there is always more. XD
      And yes! AF! I will be making a video about this soon. Your description is spot on.

    • @GemilyMez

      The best I can recommend is take your time. Go slow with each reduction, don't rush it. And also, don't think too much about equalising. If you end up with perfect vision in one eye and -0.5 in the other, you will still be fine and enjoy great natural vision.

    • @GemilyMez
      @GemilyMez  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello Kezia!
      When it comes to equalising - getting your eyes more equal - that is not something to worry about at first. Before you start equalising, you are meant to make 2 "binocular" drops. So, just reducing both eyes by the same amount each time. Once you have done this twice, then you will know for sure that you have the method working correctly. Then you start equalising after that. If you need a recep, check out 1:47 of this video again.

      th-cam.com/video/cAyobmi1AvQ/w-d-xo.html (Jump to 1:41).
      I don't mention ADD in that video. ADD is only used if you have bifocals. The EndMyopia method recommends having 2 separate pairs of glasses rather than bifocals. So there should be no ADD value.

    Hey if i use now reading glass and distance glass how long can i change it 6 weeks or year?

    • @GemilyMez
      @GemilyMez  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You change one pair of glasses every 6 weeks maximum. 6 weeks is the quickest you should be changing glasses. You can leave them without changing as long as you want to /need to though.
      So you have close up glasses and distance glasses, which you swap depending on what you are doing.
      Get close up glasses and start wearing them for close up ---> 6 weeks passes --> replace your full prescription with new pair of glasses for distance ---> 6 weeks passes --> change your close up glasses to a slightly weaker pair of close up glasses --> 6 weeks passes --> change your distance glasses to a slightly weaker pair of distance glasses ---> 6 weeks passes ---> change you close up glasses... etc.
      Again, 6 is the quickest you should go. You can take as long as you like between changes - just pay attention to your vision and see what your eyes are telling you - are they ready yet?
      You only drop by 0.25 diopters each time, and you will manage to decrease by about 1 diopter over all each year.

    Hi gemiley, I am high myopic, I am bit confused here because my current prescription are too high as compared to my own calculation using your method, am I over prescribed or am I doing in wrong way. It's a difference of -4 diopters...

    • @GemilyMez
      @GemilyMez  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      When you have high myopia, accuracy gets more important. For low myopia, getting 1 cm wrong won't make much of a different, whereas for high myopia getting one cm wrong could have you out by multiple diopters. A trick I learnt from @NottNott's channel is that if you have high myopia, it might help to measure while wearing differential glasses (glasses that have a lower correction for close up work). What he has done is worn his differential glasses, and then measured the CMS to blur. Say he gets 54cms for example, that would be -1.75 diopters. He adds that result to the correction in the glasses he is wearing, so if he were wearing -4 diopters glasses, for example, that would be -4 + -1.75 = -5.75. So, if you want to do it that way, a good first step would be to get differential glasses if you don't already have some. EndMyopia recommends differential glasses before normalised anyway. Perhaps just get some differentials based off your current correction rather than your cms since you have high myopia. The first pair of differentials are always a bit of a guess anyway. If they end up being too strong for differentials, you will at least be able to wear them as future normalised at some point - unless you really are 4 diopters overprescribed. A good starting point for differentials is some where around 1.5 diopters lower than your full correction.

    • @GemilyMez
      @GemilyMez  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's okay to keep using them. If your myopia is low enough, you may not need differentials. The reason you are recommended to get differentials first is to help release ciliary spasm. Releasing ciliary spasm may mean you need a lower normalsied. Close up is also likes the testing ground for distance in this method. But I started with normalised too. Keep enjoying your norms. :) No need to switch back.

    Hi Gemily,
    . I am a student who has started the endmyopia journey with my differentials for close up activites and prescribed glasses(As I have not started normalised and is with my first differentials) for non-close up activites . But while I am attending lectures where teachers use a board which is at a quite far distance and I have to take notes at the same time, which glasses should I use ? Is it my differentials or prescribed glasses?
    I am -5 and -4.25 myopic with not too low astigmatism and I sit quite far from the board . Constantly switching between diff and my prescribed (as I am on first diff and not started norm) is not a practical option for me. Pls help me Gemily with a good suggestion. Thanks in advance dear.

    • @GemilyMez
      @GemilyMez  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In that situation, normalised would be my choice - as you have the benefit of frequently looking up and into the distance (at the board) as well, so you hopefully won't get ciliary spasm from the close up. One EM student used to sit his glasses slightly sideways and up on his nose so he could look under them to write. My glasses never stay up there though. 😆 If you can take notes without any glasses there may be a way you could just push them up a little to write - easier than swapping glasses.

      Diopters are the numbers that indicate how strong lenses are. So, if you have glasses or contact lenses, their strength will be indicated by a certain number. So, my glasses (when I stated EndMyopia) were -3.00 for my right eye, and -2.50 for my left eye. These numbers are diopters.
      They are worked out by measuring how many centimetres into the distance you can see before it starts getting blurry (so, for me now, it is about 50cm), and then dividing 100cm (1 metre) by that number. (1 metre / centimetres to blur). So for me, that is currently 50cm, so to work out my diopters, it is 100/50, which equals -2. And -2 diopters is what I am currently at in my glasses.

      No, I am not in the paid programme. I am doing this the free DIY way. A couple of months ago I did pay for "Le Rough Guide + Pro Video" access, because I wanted to see the pro videos, but I haven't read through Le Rough Guide yet, just watched some of the videos.

      I have paid a little bit for access to Le Rough Guide and the Pro videos (I think about $200 US or something. Maybe less), but that was only recently and mainly because I wanted to support Jake for all he has given. I haven't even really looked at them yet. I have worked out everything from doing the 7 day free email guide, watching Jake's free videos on TH-cam, reading the EndMyopia.org blog, and reading/participating in the facebook group and Le Meow forum. While there are structured and mentored courses you can pay for if you want, youu don't need to pay any money to do EndMyopia. Jake has made all the information available for free. But to do it for free, you just have to be willing to use the resources Jake has created to teach yourself.

      XD A little. I have monetised my channel, yes. But a QUICK video takes me a whole day to write, record and edit. A video I want to make a bit better quality can take 3 days. When I am making 4 videos a month, let's say for arguments sake that is 3 quick ones and one good one, let's say that is 5 days of work (easily 8 hours in a day) = 40 hours of work a month for this channel. I am currently accumulatinig ad revenue of about $40 a month. That is $1 an hour. XD So, I am definitely still doing this for love, not money. And this is year and a half of work on this channel.
