  • Today we are doing the short or annual / 7,500km service on the 390 KTM Duke 125 250. This should be done either at 7,500 km or once a year, whichever happens first. Since my bike doesn't do a lot of miles, the annual service comes first. If you do less than 7,500km in a year then the annual is all you need to do.

      Thanks. I'm sort of assuming that anyone contemplating doing there own service is capable of checking the tyre pressures and if they can't then it's sort of self selecting that they won't be have the technical ability to do the service. There is more detail such as checking if the brake discs aren't warped that I've not included as it's the sort of thing you would notice if it was your own bike but would need to check if you were servicing someone else's bike and ought to notice on the test ride.... It's a good suggestion and now I'm visualising buying half a dozen different pressure gauges to show how to do it with each different one in a stand alone video! Skäl David

      @@AniketSen did u find the engine guard? I live in India, in Bangalore city, and on Amazon.in they have an engine guard that looks similar BUT it has those crash bobbins attached, one on either side.
      I believe our gentleman friend whose video we are commenting on (thank you again, Sir) recommended to me previously that I try to find the guards without the bobbins. I seem to think they make better sense too, cuz they will not lock onto any crevices on the road and put pressure on the chassis which they r attached to.
      Mr. Moto Mirius, it seems like even the powerparts catalogue is differently available from country to country. It has been hard for me to find your engine guard. I would buy the original KTM powerparts guard like yours without thinking twice if I could find it.

FYI, I’ve ordered the crash protectors, 14t front sprocket....already sorted decat and exhaust......let me know your thoughts on my 14t front plus Rok handlebars as a plan to make my wheelie journey easier. Thx mate

    • @MotoMirius
      @MotoMirius  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Barry, it's a great bike for wheelies - or so I"m told - my plans for wheelies was interrupted last year by high siding the bike and breaking my arm. Hopefully this year, now the bones are healed, I will make progress again and get around to fitting the wheelie bar. A lot of the stunt 390's I've seen have dirt bike bars like these, so yes, I would say it's going to be part of a stunt build that you will want to do. The bars didn't bend when I crashed the bike even though it ground the end a bit. 14 tooth will certainly help with control, and a bigger rear sprocket would then be the next upgrade. Skäl David

      Hi Jesus, I'm a big fan of adventure bikes since I bought a Honda Transalp when they first launched in 1987. I think for your use it will be a good choice. Adventure bikes always have a bit of a conflict of identity. For touring you need something big which is then too heavy to hit technical trails. This looks a good option for local riding, especially if you live somewhere reasonably dry - wet trails always really need a proper dirt bike. Skäl David

    Hi Mirius, Hey I have a question. Have you ever got the "Low Oil Pressure" warning error on one of your dukes? I get the "L O P" error on the dash after it warms up. But the oil levels are ok. I used the right oil as the KTM manual indicates. So I'm thinking it's the sensor right? Can you guide me how to fix this issue? May be make a little video how to work on it. Thanks. Please let me know. Marcello

    • @MotoMirius
      @MotoMirius  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Marcello. No, never had that. It could be the sensor, the problem is that if it isn't and the issue is the oil pump then you can very quickly damage the engine. As the engine revs increase so should the oil pressure and the error suggests that this may not be happening. Your dealer should have a meter to measure the oil pressure, so I would recommend that you get this checked first given that the seals on the oil pump are a known issue on some bikes. Skäl David

    • @MotoMirius

      None of them are available through KTM which locks its software. Most of them are available from third party retailers but I'm not aware of any made for the 390 so adaptation with add on modules would be required. Tyre pressure would probably be the most difficult to integrate. Skäl David

    • @MotoMirius
      @MotoMirius  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Can't say I've ever noticed an oil leak here on mine - this is where all the oil from the chain collects so it's not always obvious if you have an additional leak. Several possible causes here if you do, including a faulty seal - this is a bike with some low quality parts on it so I would look to rule that out first. Skäl David

    • @MotoMirius
      @MotoMirius  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The new first service is quite brief, it's mainly an oil and filter change with the screens cleaned and then a close inspection to make sure that everything was fitted properly in the factory and nothing is falling off. Previously they also checked the valve gaps, but KTM improved quality control on the engine builds so that is now just done as part of the main services. Make sure you talk to them about anything you have noticed that doesn't seem right and if it seems important then get their answer in writing so that there is no later warranty issue.

      Sometimes you need to buy online. My local KTM dealer is useless, so I buy all of my KTM parts online, even though my KTM dealer is less than one kilometre from my house! I would guess that you need part 43570624, but check before you order, and it might be hard to find in orange.

      In my opinion, yes, it’s a very good bike and I highly recommend it. That said, it doesn’t suit everybody so some people don’t like it. It does exactly what I want and I really like it. Skäl. David
