I'd like to see an in depth tutorial for cut creases on hooded eyes. What colors/finishes/techniques work best. I always end up using the same shimmery color on my whole lid And just blend with a neutral.
Crystal Lindy has done some beautiful eye looks and she has hooded eyes. Her liner tips really helped me achieve the look I was going for! Highly suggest checking out her channel here on TH-cam.
I just love how you describe makeup techniques as “different,” rather than good and bad or right and wrong. I love dark eye makeup, and it’s not because I have particularly large or prominent eyes, I just like the end result.
The amount I learned in a mere 5 minutes was mind-blowing. Thank you for these detailed steps! Also, the David Attenborough voice in the description box was the best 😂
I can't believe how beautiful you're looking with TWO DRAMATICALLY DIFFERENT EYES in one frame. You are SO blessed to have this bone structure and these features! Hope you're able to maintain and enjoy them for decades and decades to come.
I have big prominent round eyes, rather generous lid space. Every single tutorial I have found for my eye shape is basically what you did on the left, because it is 'correcting' the eye shape. I did feel insecure about my 'bulging' eyes but I know they are my most striking feature. I love doing both. I like embracing how big they are and going bigger too. I love shimmer and bright colors, even if its a 'no-no' for my eye shape. Why? Why NOT? Makeup should be fun! I also love how sultry and defined a smokey eye or dark colors can be. For an eye shape with 'lots of real estate', I find the lack of looks that aren't corrective or smokey eyes for my eyes pretty disappointing. That's why I appreciate how creative you are with your looks 💕
We definitely should embrace the features we have that make us feel unique. Do different things and have fun with it! When I started to actually play with my makeup and just have fun with it I fell back in love with it. My mom had huge eyes and I always thought they made her look so pretty. ❤
I want a tutorial for an in-depth eye look that's gonna make your eyes as big as possible. Not just the principles like you did here, but a full-on eye look with colors and all
Ditto. Literally any eye look tutorial, especially ones that use smokey/dark colours can make our eyes look smaller. I’d imagine that the minority that have big eye problems are more or less concerned about shape rather than size.
Yes! Downturned eyes and/or a crease that extends all the way down to the lower lashline make it difficult to do liner and know where shadow should end.
My brain can't comprehend the two looks right beside.. I like both though! I think it is more about what you want your eyes to look like (big - romantic, small - sexy) and how it fits with your lip colour etc, not about what you got and how to change it :)
i think whats interesting is for my hooded eyes particularly. The one that makes your eyes look "smaller" is what makes mine bigger. Same with most eastern eyes. Doing the makeup that makes eyes look "bigger" actually just makes us very very very puffy
Your understanding of visual art and painting really shines through when you talk about light, dark, shadows, tones, use of space, and what they all do visually.
I would love to see you work on Asian eyes! Your tips are wonderful and I manage to tweak them to fit my Asian eyes. However I have no idea how to vary my eyeshadow looks because I'm always stuck with the same boring technique. I'm interested in your take on eyeshadow for Asian eyes ❤️
@@AlexandraAnele I have a fold and unfortunately anything I do on my eyelid just ✨disappears✨ the moment I open my eyes. I wish I had something normal like an even fold all throughout or just a monolid. But the front half is a monolid while it ends as a double eyelid at the end 😭
This was really helpful. I'd love to see a cut crease video for smaller/hooded eyes. My eyelids have weird uneven folds, so making eyeshadow look the same on both sides is a chore sometimes.
I love both looks. The eye on our right is simple and allows all your features to really stand out and it's more natural without being dull or minimal. The left looks sexy and dressed up. Your eyes are simply gorgeous either way and the color is so beautiful.
Id love to see how you’d do a wing on a small eye, sometimes when I do that the look overwhelming on my face because I have small eyes and a small face. PS it would be helpful if you mentioned what kind of base you’re starting on! Thank you!
I just used the Rare Beauty eye base this time. You basically want to get either small angled or straight liner brush and make the wing as small as possible. The bigger/thicker it gets, it's probably overpowering your other features
Ay yooo Alex I'd love to see your take on the reverse cat eye look! And maybe some tips if there is any differences in creating it if ya girl has hooded/slightly hooded eyes. Love your vids, gal, you're a treasure x
Wow! I have never known much about makeup and this proves it. I’ve been making my eyes smaller but my eyes aren’t big to start with. I’m going to switch this right away. The difference s amazing. Thank you.
I have big round eyes and I get told that all the time. So I love playing with making them look smaller or more elongated. One thing that I recently learned is to run my mascara wand horizontally along the roots of the lash line to make the lashes flare outwards and it works! Stayed so well to my surprise. Would love to see more in-depth looks for making big eyes look smaller, especially with shimmers.
This is the best tutorial! I realize I am wanting my eyes to look bigger, but actually doing everything that makes them look smaller!!! Thank you so much! This clarifies a lot! 😂
Same, this is the only one that doesn't make me feel shitty about not looking as good as the tutor, because Alex seems so neutral about beauty. It's truly unique.
this is actually very useful for people who wear glasses! i have pretty big eyes buy my glasses lens distort them into looking a lot smaller. following tips like yours helped me a lot in trying to make my eyes appear bigger, back to the size they would actually be without the lens distortions :-) i'm guessing it should work the other way around as well.
Thank you for so accurately showing the makeup to make eyes smaller. I have biggggg eyes with huge lid space. And i aways felt that putting a darker shadow in my crease made it look more bulging! And al the make up tutorials asked to do this thing. Thanks for differenting this!

The funny thing is, I feel like I have small eyes, so I do my eyeshadow darker in the crease, but I feel like black smudged eyeliner on the lower waterline with shadow underneath (not as far as you took it down) flatters my eye better. I’ve never liked the light on the waterline. Would love to see a couple tutorials!

Love these mini tutorials! Would love to see one about changing your eye shape as well as size. I have very round, close together eyes and would like to make them look more almond and lifted at the outer corners.
I have one eye that appears bigger, because I tend to raise the brow over that eye (making it look bigger/more open), whereas I don't have that kind of muscle control over the other eyebrow. I don't think I can do drastically different makeup on the two eyes like you did in this video, but I'm going to try incorporating some of these tips and see if I can make them look a little more symmetrical. I need to know exactly what brushes you're using and when, and which ones are good for hooded eyes. Thank you for your perfect videos. You are my favorite mua😩💕
Really, really great to find a tutorial for a natural look on big eyes. Mine are huge and deep-set and I've been using the small eyes makeup. Big mistake! Thank you for making it simple.
Thanks! To me you look better with the dark (small) eye. You can do this because you got beautiful big eyes. It is also is more dramatic and suits you well. Same here, with big eyes I also gravitate to deep dark, smoky eyes!
Amazing, I love your tutorials, they are immensely helpful to me as a mere mortal! I would love to see tutorials catered to eye shapes, so for example what is most flattering for hooded eyes vs almond vs whatever you call eyes with lots of lid space lol
Small eye hooded . My problem is the inner corner for that intense cat inner corner liner because the fold of the inner corner make it difficult to draw the line
