    It is now much more convenient to travel to Don Mueang Airport with some luggage in tow. In the past, if only carrying only a carry on cabin bag, you can only travel easy with the Airport bus service, else you have to take the taxi.

    That airport used to be a nightmare to reach. I recall about 20 years ago going from Sukhumvit Rd to Don Muang . . . . before the subway, before the red line etc . . . . I got into a taxi, and the legendary Bangkok traffic was horrendous that day. I called the travel agent on my mobile, explained I was stuck in traffic, might miss my flight, and what should I do if I didn't make it on time. Her reply? "Tell the driver to drive faster." Getting around Bangkok is infinitely easier today.

    Didn't know that there is airport train too to Don Mueang. People keep telling me that there's no train to Don Mueang airport and need to use cab grab etc.. unless you use suvarnabhumi.

      Yes, its much more convenient to go around BKK by public transit now. I went home in late 2019 when the new line from Thonburi to Chinatown just opend. It was super convenient and easy smooh ride so I took it three times in a span of a week 😊 This new red line also runs near my house but i didnt take it when I came home in late 2021 and we were taking a trip and flew out of Don Muang because the long walk way was inconvenient for my mom.

    This is a great improvement and the train seems much more spacious than the airport rail link to Suvarnabhumi. The traffic jams to Don Mueang are usually horrible so this will save a lot of time. I hope I can travel there soon and test this connection but not until they get rid of those silly masks in Thailand.

    • @patrickkealy4387
      @patrickkealy4387 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The traffic jams only occur if you are a cheap Charlie and dont pay the toll way instead. Otherwise it's no more than twenty five minutes from the business district in Bangkok.

    Please also always leave a comparison comment for : from downtown same location by 1. taxi and 2. Grab ( ? 550 Baht, 1.5 to 2 hours) ..... So we can make judgments and decisions+ plans one against the other. For some with luggage, it may not be worth train exchange walks, etc. Just giving low cost of 1 mode of public transport isn't always enough
