I skate and I wouldnt recognize them. But it just needs 2 persons to recognize them without disguise, and word will spread like fire... enough to melt the ice .. hahaha c”,)

Teddy the disguises looked cheap. Aka they could have spent more time and money to make the skaters less recognizable. :) hope that helps
If you want irony, my friend is a special creature effects expert who not only could have done the makeup about 10 times better, but he recently married former figure skater Joanna Ng, who while she missed going to the Olympics by a few points, would have given GMA a two for one.

There are actually a lot of people who would recognize these world class skaters. Don't assume that just because you wouldn't means that no one else would.

To everyone saying they don't need disguises, keep in mind they were at an ice skating ring, the more avid ice skaters there may actually follow the sport and recognize them
It was hilarious the other week... I'm a paramedic and I walked past a guy having a heart attack. i pretended I didn't know CPR. How we laughed!

We can pack our own chutes as that is what we have to all through training. But once we leave and get to our ambulance stations we have civilians paid to pack them for us.

Well hence the title (Six Olympians Trick local ice Skaters) Oh and there was the fact the entire story revolved around them being Olympians pretending. But glad you pointed it out. I had no idea they were Olympians until now............................. lol :p. But yes here and there I watch the Olympics, Sometimes NASCAR, sometimes Soccer. Point being I am not going to know the entire roster of any team or anyone. Now if I am a hardcore fan sure. But as a casual id bet most would have zero clue that was the same person they saw some few years back.
So the camera crew wasn't a give away 😑

I knew every one of them even with the disguises. They look like they were having a blast being undercover. All the hours and hours of joy they've given to all of us who follow and watch the Olympics is incredible. Its sad there are so many comments from people who didn't have a clue as to who these fantastic talents are. What a terrible shame. I've seen what all of these Olympic skaters invested into earning their medals and watched them be awarded each of them. Kudos to the GREAT JOB these amazing athletes did in fooling the onlookers.
I know how the real students felt. In grammar school the parents of one of my classmates were professional roller skaters and on an occasional Saturday they would show up at the roller rink and partner skate with each of us. It was great fun and they made us feel so good about ourselves!
i love when professional athletes do this no matter what sport the price is nothing and the peoples expressions priceless...my only wish is quite simple i wish professional athletes would do these undercover pranks more often...

I always get a kick out of these professional sports stars going undercover videos, regardless of the sport. It's always funny to see the reactions of the people when they realize they've been pranked.
The real prank is GMA needing so many presenters.
What a sweet thrill for those watching who knew the sport. My best girl ever and I used to go to Sea World and watch Scott Hamilton. I knew it was special for her and that made me happy. So miss you girl and all the small things we did.

That's so cool. 😁 I remember seeing them skate (except Kristi and that pairs couple) in Jacksonville FL back in November 2013 at Pandora's Unforgettable Moments on Ice. Kristi was there, but only MC'd the event. It filmed at Veteran's Memorial Arena on my bday, and what made that day more incredible was getting to MEET Brian, Todd, and Kimmie (along with Ilia Kulik and Michael Weiss) after the show!!
No-one knew them even without undercover. And they couldn't even fake it right 😂

My wife and I are reasonably good ballroom dancers. When we went to the Arthur Murray studio where my younger son and his fiancé were taking lessons for their wedding dance and his dance with his mother. I thought we might pass as new students, but I looked at their website, and there was a video of my wife and I dancing. We take lessons at a different Arthur Murray studio, but they are owned by the same people.
They needn't have bothered with the disguises LOL

Aaron B I definitely recognised Kristi, sure they’re no Torvill and Dean but these people are known in our sport. I mean I couldn’t name most if any famous football players, doesn’t mean there aren’t any.
