Burns the orange part, which completes the tricolour meaning peace between Catholics and Protestants....because the orange part "isn't their culture".....has an ORANGE march every year, to celebrate their culture....I'm going for a lie down 😂

Orange and green were weird colors to chose tho. Catholics are normally represented with yellow or gold and Protestants as blue in the rest of the world.

That is because British culture and orange culture has been cleansed from Irish society. Throughout England, Scotland and even Northern Ireland you will see the Irish tricolour flying outside pubs, restaurants, etc., but British flags are not accepted down south. This is why unionists up north fear a United Ireland outside the U.K. will extinguish their culture.

    • @darrenrankin2486

I agree that some things must change, but every single thing like loyalist bonfires the 12th of July and many more are constantly being targeted negatively I'm the media, that's why loyalist people feel that there culture is trying too be removed. And regardless if ni stays in UK or there's a United Ireland the loyalist culture has too be part of that, look what happened in this country when Catholic people were treated as second class citizens we should learn from that, simply turning things around were loyalist people are second class citizens is certainly not the answer, I have friends on both sides of the community and have lived in both aswell, I blame the media for alot of the negative way they portray the loyalist culture I understand a large section of the community hate the likes of the 12th of July but just look at the crowds all over the country especially the belfast parade there's thousands of people from all over the world it's important too a massive section of the community here, I don't no the answer for moving forward but I do believe if the loyalist culture keeps being banned into submission I genuinely fear it would lead too another tragic outcome in this country.

Nobody is stopping Unionists from flying their flags, having marches or celebrating their culture but Ireland is a nation all 32 counties off it and the British state doesn't get to carve off 6 counties of it, plant them with settlers and claim them. It's a manufactured statelet, they didn't even take the whole province of Ulster because there were too many Catholics in the other 3 counties. Nor do people habitually burn effigies of the British Queen or Glasgow Rangers tops or any common loyalist symbols. Last time it happened historically was probably after Bloody Sunday in 1972, which was a very destabilising event on the island of Ireland.
Unlike July in NI where hundreds of thousands of loyalists engage in hateful behaviour. They behave themselves on the Orange marches in Rossnowlagh, though. Because they know what would happen if they didn't...

Nationalist bonfires don't burn the British flag that's the point. Even if they did it is a small minority, Loyalism is built on hatred of the ethnic Irish not naturally it is normal for them to burn nationalist and republican symbols.

NI is not a very multicultural place apart from Catholics and Protestants. So there is still a fear of the other, and this is reflected in Loyalist attacks on ethnic minorities. Also Unionists tend to have a traditionalist view of British identity as White and Protestant, despite Mainland Britain being increasingly secular and non White. 12% of the House of Commons is Catholic. www.theguardian.com/uk/2006/may/30/race.northernireland

I don't see what the big deal is. The Irish flag is a foreign flag. To the Protestant/Unionist community that these girls come from the flag has been used for 40+ years by all kinds of terrorist and political organisations to murder, bomb and attack the community. They quite rightly therefore see the flag as the enemy, and is it really surprise they burn it? Definitely not. Maybe in the future with a more peaceful island that enemy image can be decreased and removed in time. However for as long as these communities are attacked in a sectarian manner politically or otherwise because of who they are then I suspect the Irish flag will continue to be viewed as an enemy.

    • @stevenmcalister826
