Love the guitar and rhythm section on this one. It's actually one of my favorites on the album, but it's one of my favorite albums so I rate almost everything pretty highly on it.
There’s simply not a wrong note on this brilliant album. One of the all-time great debuts in rock history. Speaking of brilliant: I’m going to keep plugging away on GUIDED BY VOICES. Undisputed champion of indie bands. Decades of great music. STILL going strong. Check out “Space Gun,” “Lizard On The Red Brick Wall,” and/or “Best Of Jill Hives” to start your journey. Cheers!
I like this song just fine, the increasing pace, the melody, the dark lyrics sweetly sung. A similar band I like is the spinoff band from Bauhaus is Love and Rockets.
Not a bad debut album but the production was a bit light. Saw them before they were big and it was a good night. Packed out venue. Great songs worked better live . Ian's voice not so good later on.
So this's what a 'senior moment' feels like. I like(d) the Roses, have this album, and hammered it when it came out. That said, hearing this now, i've no recollection of it at all. It seems ok, deffo not their best work, but ok. Maybe I just didn't like it much back then and would skip it... who knows!
The John Squire painting on the album cover is called Bye Bye Badman.
Glad you’ve returned to them. The rest of this album is great, even though you’ve hit Resurrection, there are still some bangers awaiting.

Back to The Roses, cool!
This astonishing album is over 35 years old .
And?
@ makes me feel old , 1989 seems recent, but it’s half a lifetime .
@@richardhowlett7398 Time 's a bitch. 😉

This album is the epitome of a word that gets bandied around far too often. Classic!! There, iv'e used it again.

Though pleasant enough, this is one of the more inessential songs on the album. All of the bite is in the lyrics.
I wanna be a door
Confluence between the song Bye Bye Birdie and the movie Birdman maybe? Nice indie tune you would have heard on college radio back then.
Nice song.Yes, decent.
Not my favourite song on the album...but it's a decent one. Agree with you, JP.
Mancunian country & western candidate with an Early Yes Coda. Slightly Underwhelming now but very Fresh at the time.

Have you done a reaction to the opening track I Wanna Be Adored on the The Stone Roses debut album? If you have I can not find it on your channel .
It might be on his predecessor channel that he did with... his brother? Cousin?
Its here, but I see that it got blocked in the UK :( th-cam.com/video/LKvlJhdJzx8/w-d-xo.html
Do everything by The Stone Roses. (And the Kitchens of Distinction). Btw, why are you wearing a baseball hat inside of a house?
People wear baseball hats inside sometimes? Because we like the way they feel and look? He's also on camera.
good question :)
Why not? ;) Also th-cam.com/video/Z0poI8rGNFc/w-d-xo.htmlsi=NIaVV-h9mm2uJQH-&t=30
