Well I can say after a a lot of research this is how he plays it. However I think you might this video interesting th-cam.com/video/b7xyNXipP0M/w-d-xo.html This is my journey getting to this video and watching John playing live on youtube, i was surprised
It was a headache working it out and learning it :) Glad I did though as I love discovering these things and sharing it. Hopefully now you can learn it? I have done a whole playlist of Stone Roses songs here th-cam.com/play/PLRmdYbn2rqyWxl49sHHCiLsfu1V5UYQ3Q.html if you want to check this out too. Thanks for your support.
Did you know John spent about 300,000 of the geffen advance for second coming album on a 59 Les Paul.😂 It does sound amazing when he plays it, I heard it live at Roses reunion gig in Dublin, amazing player.
Wow! I didn’t know this! 😂 Did he then have to sell it to pay the fee back? I know he recently purchased at 58 with bigsby as he didn’t have his 59 which you are referring to.
Thanks man! This was a little find in Supermarket of Sainsburys in the UK. Didn't expect to see something like this in there but it's the Liam Gallagher vibe :)
Alot of people play this with the capo as from this video he plays it without. Check out my full run through th-cam.com/video/imW2x04TlnM/w-d-xo.html and let me know what you think. I have spent along time trying to get it note for note on the record. Be great to hear what you think? It certainly makes it harder though not having a capo! So not sure why John did this without. Thanks Kevin
@@RiffsRhythm I think he changed it for Ian Browns voice, to suit his lower key of voice, same with Where Angels Play in the rehearsal. Playing with a capo and all the pedals squire had in 89-90, along with the twin fender amp, drowned his vocals out. He always complained about Squire playing to loud. The way squire set up and played post 2012 completely different to Blackpool 89
@@kevinborland2090 this version is in the same key as the original just not played with capo. Yeah I did hear that he was always mega loud and I think this continued in The Seahorses too. John liked to be heard :)
@@coreyryan97 yeah it’s a bit of shame. The Seahorses split for the very reason and John over played quite a lot but the album “Do It Yourself” has got squires best guitar in that! Class
I love playing this track. I wouldn’t say it was hard. As soon as you’ve learnt it, muscle memory kicks in and away you go! But I do enjoy the slow process of working out the notes. Tabs?……..PAH! Use your own tabs(ears)to learn! It’s far more rewarding. Nicely done mate👊🏼
Totally agree! This was using my ear but TABBED out for anyone interested. For most people, TAB is a quick way of learning tunes but yes training your ear is super valuable
Probably one of the most underrated guitarists ever. Has it all.
5/1/24 get it in the diary LG and JS! SO looking forward to it. Hopefully he will reach more people
Who's been underrating John Squire? First I heard of this. We've been nothing but adoring fans of his guitar laying for more than 30 years now.
@@cinemar The industry and the general public.
John Squire is unbelievable. His fluid inventions are refreshing and original, like his visual art. Thanks Dean.
Couldn't agree more!
Cracking Job Dean, thanks again for your efforts on this one. More of the same please!
Thanks Craig, it was fun doing something different and hopefully showing the issues of becoming a perfectionist!
3:46 I practiced this years ago but eventually gave up on it from the tabs I found online. I might try it again now.

your playing is ethereal. transports me to another place. will have to give this a crack! never like playing with a capo so this is most welcome
very kind words! thank you. Yes please have a go and let me know how you get on
It's a really beautiful piece of music that solo nice work deciphering it. Caused me headaches as kid try to learn guitar.

That's what I would have done. 😂
Brilliant this. .👍
thank you!
Mani’s on record as saying they were never really happy with it live cos it’s so damm difficult
Thats interesting! I didn't know that. Thanks for the insight
It sounded great in 2012!
The tab book worked nicely for me
Does the Tab Book have a capo on 2nd Fret?
I no longer have it but as I recall, yes it did. You do a great job here.
@@EmbodiedNonDuality thanks Jon really appreciate it!
Yes fella lovley playing, hope you don’t mind me asking where your overhead jacket is from please🤣 nice one

01:22 Cool!
Ian sings like sh..!
Headless guitar player the best way to play it, exactly like the studio recording

1. In Charge
2. Loud

I can play it so easy on my pretend guitar.....
Fracture next!
Yes he’s great , to be fair he’s been doing that for 30 years, nothing new
But anyway bring on the new Liam and John album can’t wait
Bring on the 5th
sound epic from the clips I have heard!

Great job! Cracking band! Too bad Ian is tone-deaf otherwise can you imagine?
Okay King Crimson’s Fracture now!
yep, that's some picking mayhem there! haha
