Exceptional Blue Jay Calls

  • The classic Blue Jay call up close and very loud with my external microphone. This is the call the jays up here in the Mountains use to announce to all who are interested that they are coming in for a load of sunflower seeds and all should clear the area - sort of an approach announcement. Hearing it from somewhere else will really rile them up.

The same thing happens in my backyard! My mom sets out peanuts and various squirrelfeed for the squirrels, but those blue jays always snag up most of the unshelled ones.

While playing this in my backyard it brought in a lot of bluejay answering back. They love peanuts and black seeds. I use this to call them in for food.

Life is such a mystery. It's so beautiful yet you can't help but to feel a hint of sinister occurrences. A bird, so small and fragile, yet filled with an extraordinary gift of consciousness that we did not create yet it's here.
