Weird that so many other people associate this bird call with their childhood. I thought I was the only one. I used to hear these in my old neighborhood while walking to elementary school. Very peaceful sound. I used to wonder if it was an owl.

It immediately takes me back to childhood summers. My mom would take me and sister on bike rides around the neighborhood. As the sun would set, and the crickets chirped, I’d always hear this sound. I miss those days.

That little hoot at 7:38 is so absurdly cute. You'd almost think they were owls.
I actually get really grumpy at birds in general, because I so often hear their loud squeaky chirping just stupidly early in the morning outside my window (seriously, like 3AM, I kid you not). The one exception is the Mourning Dove. I always heard that soothing, gentle call and loved it every time. They're truly adorable.

      @Fi6ment 4 ปีที่แล้ว +90

      > The Sky is a light, foggy blue-grey with the occasional wispy, tufted cirrus clouds.
      > Blinding sunlight is seemingly scattered throughout the sky, bouncing through the atmosphere, causing you to squint a bit until the clouds pass and the early light of the golden honey-colored sun is crystal clear and comes out for the day, framed by the barren delicate branches of deciduous oak trees.
      > The ground is damp and morning mist looms, rolling gracefully through the air, creating rainbows as the sun bounces off of it, playing tricks with your eyes.
      > You flare up your nostrils and take a deep breath of the chilly air in, feeling the microscopic droplets of water tickle the inside your nose.
      > The air smells sweet like autumn rain and wet leaves.
      > You take a sip of your warm hot chocolate, coating your tongue in it’s rich, milky taste.
      > You smile again, for today is going to be a good day.
      (Too much? 😬 I’m sorry).

The colorful special seed with vitamins and minerals for finches and canaries that drives songbirds wild its at Amazon at: amzn.to/2LgbcJE another more affordable option is amzn.to/2PjMMyY which also drives finches, doves and songbirds wild. Imagine having your eyes on each side of your head, you will have two points of sight and have to move and tilt your head around constantly to see all around and make sense of whats around you. Also if your tiny and could be a good meal for a cat or a snake, then your constantly doing the same thing all the time just to stay alive. A birds way of being a paranoid schizophrenic!
Another way to imagine them having each eye on one side of their head is to cross your eyes where you see two pictures of the same thing, then imagine them having to do that but two different images constantly moving about to make sense of whats around them, and are always on the lookout for predators. Hope that makes sense and helps you to understand better on why they might be doing that tilt the head thing. I dont know anything about birds but I try to understand why they are always tilting their heads and moving them constantly and fast too! Like I said it could be their version of a paranoid schizophrenic in bird form! Lol 🤣 just a little joke people who do suffer from being a paranoid schizophrenic is no laughing matter and I do hope each person does seek treatment and then has a better life, a normal life. I do pray for them and for everyone suffering any illness, any pain of its emotional or physical. We all need to pray for our fellow man and woman. Thanks

When I was a kid, my grandparents had a lake house in Michigan. The house had a walk out basement that led straight out to the lake, and my siblings and parents and I would always sleep down there on air mattresses when we visited. There were a bunch of windows in the basement, so we never really got to sleep in late because the sun rise was so bright. The light would pour in through the windows and even reflect off the lake water, making it even brighter. I didn't mind though. I loved getting up early and watching the sunlight glitter across the water and feeling the cool dewy grass between my toes as I walked barefoot down to the lake. The air was crisp and cool so that the water looked like it was steaming. And everything was so still and quiet. The only noise was the lapping of the water against the shore and the mourning doves. Every morning, without fail, mourning doves would sit on the roof of the house or in the trees and just sing out their cute little coo. I actually used to think they were called "morning" doves and not "mourning" doves because I always heard them when I woke up.
My grandma died of breast cancer when I was 11 years old and I haven't been back to that house since. My grandpa sold it soon after she passed. It's been nearly a decade now and every time I hear mourning doves, it reminds me of those mornings on the lake in Michigan and how absolutely at peace I felt. They bring back such good memories of a simpler time. That lake was one of my favorite parts of my childhood. It's now October 2020 and I just lost my grandpa last month to Covid-19. I still haven't quite grasped that he's gone. He was one of the last pieces of Michigan/that part of my childhood and now he's gone too. My family and I are still trying to understand his passing -- it's quite strange to lose someone to a pandemic, I hope none of you have to experience it -- but we plan to carry both my grandparents' memory forward. We would love to someday have a lake house of our own to create our own lake memories and share that joy with our kids and grandkids and family moving forward.
If you took the time to read this, thank you. I hope you are all staying safe, taking care of yourselves, and finding some peace in this world ♥

It's winter break. Its a cold, winter night. You're 10 years old. It seems you fell asleep and woke up at 5 A.M.
    You're exhausted.
Trying to fall back asleep, you focus on the noises outside.
All you can hear are robins and morning doves. You Live somewhat not that far from a highway. Its usually not that quiet with all of the cars.
    An hour passes.
You decide to look out your window. You see some birds on the window cill pecking up the bird seed you left them. You had a hard time keeping an eye on the birds. You were fascinated by the snow. It was perfect and smooth.
You couldn't decide which was more beautiful. The glittering snow reflecting off the bright orange glow coming from the street lights outside, or the pretty little birds.
After the birds fly away, you hop back into your bed and it seems like the coziest place on earth.
You wonder what tommorow will bring.
    You fall back asleep.

Good evening Ashley. The Holy Ghost is like a dove. Happy new year! The new covenant will not save you if you continue being rebellious and stubborn against the word of the Lord. It is a sin to steal and a sin to forget the sabbath (saturday). *1 Samuel **15:23** KJV - For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king.* Witchcraft, sorcery idolatry, witches, sorcerers, idolaters will be cast into hellfire. Only they that are washed in the blood of the Lord Jesus and keep his commandments shall be kings and priests. There is no such thing as a sunday rest or sunday sabbath in the Bible. Only the seventh day is blessed, sanctified and hallowed. Isaiah 66:22,23 says that from one new moon to another and from one sabbath to another shall all flesh worship before the Lord in the new earth. Matthew 7:21-23 proves that not everyone that says Jesus is Lord will enter the kingdom. We need to do the will of the Father which is to obey and honor our Lord Jesus Christ. He kept the sabbath, new moons and holy days while he walked the earth. Why do you keep sunday, Christmas, Easter and January 1st which he never kept? Repent.
