Hi Jim, ive had the same issue in the past, i found it was the clutch bearing tube that extends too far, and is rubbing on the clutch disc, watch you vid again, you can see the marks buddy, take it off and remove about 10mm from the end, job done, hope this works for you, did for me
I put epoxy primer down first, seam sealed then went on with the raptor. The epoxy has adhered well as its not been affected but the raptor just hasn't
@@jimbuilds You need to overcoat epoxy within a certain time window. If you leave it beyond the overcoating period it is neccessary to scuff the epoxy with scotchbrite pads before overcoating with sealant.
That sounds terrible Jim almost the first motion shaft is pushing on the crankshaft .Start the engine without the gearbox and see what it's like to verify. Good luck.
That's a good call, I had a thought about the collar/seal that goes over that shaft but I'll do some measurements. The engine turns over fine without the gearbox. I also think the inlet/exhaust isn't sealed against the cylinder head.
The headline implies the car is a disaster? I drove one up and down the east coast of Australia and only disaster we had was a blown exhaust gasket on the way back from Bathurst races in 1973!! A really great car in its day ,and along with Escorts and Lotus engined versions Great in the day! shall
The work I had done recently had problems which all came together with 20 mins - I'd call that a disaster! That's a cool trip, Bathurst 1000 is on my list of races I want to see. I also need to visit Australia at some point.

Please share it so I can do it
My latest video has a solution 👌
Ok
Examine your first motion shaft and its bush to see if it is the right one. It may be the problem.
Did you put the sealant over epoxy paint?

@spencereagle1118 I didn't know that, it's the first time this has happened. I'll give it a light sanding before I go again. Thanks for the advice 👍
Is it me or is the bell housing damaged ? at 1.32
There are some marks where I've removed part of the bellhouse for the starter motor
Looks like a big chunk is missing to me.
I needed to for clearance
@@jimbuilds what? Knocked a big chunk out?
@@malcpaul996 Yes I cut it out when locating the starter motor, it's a similar tactic Rocketeer use on their Jag v6 to MX5 gearbox conversions.

Start it without the gearbox on!
I did quickly and that's ok which is a relief!
You are on the home straight now, I suspect the correct answer is already in the comments.
Thanks! I think the same too having had a look it again
