Hey man, really appreciate your videos and how you just keep things transparent. I joined Upwork last year but decided to get serious with it just a month ago. I create and design presentations and PPTs. I still haven't got my first job on Upwork and I'm down to my last 10 connects. I don't want to spend any money on connects because I have not started earning through the platform.
I custom-write all of my cover letters, provide samples to clients and even send lower rates than specified in my proposals. It feels like a dead end, I really want to make this an income source for myself.
1. It's only been a month
2. Design presentations for who? Why? Why would people pay you for a PowerPoint?
3. Custom written cover letters mean nothing if you're not providing value
I uploaded a video where you can apply to jobs for free. You say you don't want to spend connects. Cool. Are you spending the entire day sending emails? Calls? Those are free. You say you decided to get serious. Prove it
@@ThomasIm I design presentations as per the requirements of people, but I specialise in creating Pitch decks, data plots and graphs, and creating learning modules in PPTs. As to why people would pay me for a PowerPoint, everyone uses PPT for quite literally everything - for giving presentations about a trend or data, for teaching students, for creating graphs, summarizing reports, etc - and I can create them, turn saving their time and bringing quality content on the table.
I'll definitely send emails and messages to these businesses/people.

Alot of the >100k subs channels are over produced and trying to sell something.
But TH-cam is originally about giving information. And those channels like to give information as a means for selling.

Being a beginner and having no reviews are separate things:
-Nobody wants to hire a complete beginner - maybe
-Nobody wants to hire someone without any reviews - not true
Offer value, don't be generic, and be consistent
