would like to see your comparison of the rayco 100 vs the high end skids. I ran the rayco 200 and it's a nice machine
Knowing you are a big fan of the samurai teeth the cimaf head is a hardwood eating machine. It is a little more maintenance intensive sharpening the teeth but the product it produces is unmatched. Thanks for all the insight into your business. It is helping me with my forestry business startup.
Aaron Gasque I'm also a fan of the cimaf style head. I like gyro tracks version almost the same head except for their patented tool placing design. the FH500 has impressed us a lot!!
Watching your videos and owning some of these machines I do agree with what ur saying. And wish I had found u before we were 500k deep wit so few machines
Following your videos with great interest. You probably already know this but : Skidsteers (in the long run) are simply not profitable in material over approximately 4 inch or high density bush. Steel tracks are a must for professional use. Dedicated machines are FAR more profitable in the long run. Rayco and Primetech are my favorites in this category. You might consider building a custom machine as well to fit your requirements. I required very high productivity and compact size (max 69 inches OA width) so built my own machines using Rayco C85FM chassis and modifying almost every aspect of the machines. Custom cooling, 200hp/600ft/lb Cummins industrial 5.9 . The results were well worth the expense. Get enough hydrostatic flow to keep pressure well below max rating on your pump and hyd motors. If the engine is still running at 2400 rpm and your pegged @ 5000 psi on your mulcher circuit it will run too hot and not last long. The machines I custom built have been remarkable profit generators over the years and devour 12 inch wood. Check out my prototype testing videos on here under the name Rohaymico.
Last video?
how long does it take to clear an acre of fairly dense brush with this machine?
I run a Fecon FTX100-L (actually made by Rayco. C-100). This is my first machine ever. I researched for over a year before buying and comparing all models seeing lots of Cat 299 and Asv/terex machines catching fire. I've been very happy so far and NEVER come close to running it hot.
With a DENIS CIMAF mulcher in front, it's one beast of a machine!
Prime tech pt-175 is really sweet!
What about a Fecon 128 with ether steel or rubber tracks really a sweet machine!
Definitely would look into Fecon visibility and power is insane on the 128
I have the option of getting a 128 with the same dealer, but about 50k more and they were telling me there is not enough of a difference to justify the price. But i personally don't know.
Oh ya I see that is a far bit more but check out this video it's kind of impressive!m.th-cam.com/video/UefBhZ2fQB0/w-d-xo.html
It is 28 hp more and 20gpm more then the rayco but if nothing else it is one of the best looking machines out there.
Garth Nightingale not trying to be a smart alec but if what the dealer is saying is true, it's definitely the most important consideration when you factor in the price difference. Even if the Rayco is ugly as sin, looks do not put food on the table.
If your looking to get away from the skid steer I would go all the way and jump into the C200 especially if your wanting power for the hard woods. If you think about it the extra power will cut down time on the job and on to the next. It would be just and all around more capable machine.
We have a pt110 with a fecon head. I could never imagine going down in power from that. Anther 25hp or so would actually be amazing. Def go with the Dennis head if your not in really rocky terrain. Our 110 has 950 hours but only half of that running a cutter.
Well i have had the PT110 and Terex R350 T which actually has more horse power than the Pt110 and that machine burnt to the ground, But this machine is calibrated very well and actually seems to have much more power than my Terex R350 T had. A lot of people just look at the HP number but you have to see how that equivocate's to the hydraulic horse power when matched with the pump. I know that they have done a way better job with this machine than Terex ever did matching that. And you can definitely feel it. It feels like it has 150 HP.
Extreme Under Brushing, LLC There is a guy with an underbrushing business in my area of Alabama who has a youtube channel and was a super Gung ho Terex guy for about 4-5 yrs. He had a close relationship with the local dealer and always kept the latest greatest thing that Terex had out until about a year or so ago when his fairly new Terex burnt to the ground like yours did. I'm not sure about the series of events that ensued but as far as I know, he cut ties with the dealer all together and bought CAT xhp forestry machines with cimaf heads. He speaks highly of them and acts like Terex never happened. That's interesting that you have a similar story.
Yea they are high but they last maybe you will be able to get one in time good Lord willing
see about a low hour demo 128, and purchase through your dealer that would bring the price down . Personally, I'd rather have the extra power and not need it instead of maxing out a smaller engine. It all comes down to duty cycle which a skid loader cannot match.
That's kind of what I was thinking.
I think Terex is really close to going bankrupt finally, they've been selling off all their earthmoving equipment divisions for the last few years. I also think you'd be really happy with the Rayco the steel tracks will stand up over time for sure. The Skid-steer based machines are largely made for moving dirt the high flow hydraulics are kinda an afterthought and that's why you don't get the long life out of those machines that you would with a purpose built machine. The only weaknesses in any of these machines will always be the emissions controls whether its EGR with DPF or the DEF with SCR. Those systems only function properly for the short term before they start giving up codes or they start a fire or start the machine on fire as I know that happens with some of the DPF systems (basically an afterburner built in to the exhaust system). So maybe after the warranty period is over get it deleted if you don't have any exhaust sniffers in your area.
Thank you very much for your input. I agree with everything you have stated. Im definitely wanting to move away from anything that could lead me to a fire, after the Terex. I don't feel that they should even be in business.
Ps we are doing hardwoods and rocks in Hana Hawaii
I'd step away from the 100hp machines and look at something 125-175 Hp, Steel tracks with loader style arms. Just me
You can't beat the primetech175 in that size
Yeah, unfortunately it just was not in our price range.
What do you think ab the ASV 120 w a Gyrotrac 500?
Definitely would check this video out before purchasing the rayco!m.th-cam.com/video/UefBhZ2fQB0/w-d-xo.html
Hey mark its alex I used to work for you do you have any work get back at me at my email
Terex is the worst machines on the market across the board. We run 6 TR 100 rock trucks and they are a complete train wreck
