I got the original good ending in Metro 2033, but I didn't know there were multiple endings back then so I was confused when the second game started off different, becuase the good ending means you don't nuke the dark ones. So colour me surprised when the start of the second game talks about how you nuke the dark ones...

For the ME stuff, there are a total of 32 named and listed crew/team members that have to die across 3 games for this to actually happen. You'd legitimately have to map out almost every single move you need to make across all 3 games in order to pull it off. It's virtually impossible to do by accident.

Ayyy love seeing someone talking about Fallen London. I'm actually a Seeker, I followed that quest to it's devastating end, and took a year and a half to do it. There's 3 endings, and I picked the "What is due" one. From an actual gameplay standpoint it wasn't worth it. I grinded for top tier items only to immediately sacrifice them, messed up my character enough that she got permanent debuffs, and none of that mattered because you loose your character Permanently. But from a story perspective? Absolutely worth it. I'll be thinking about the story and characters for the rest of my life, and will always be proud of being one of the few who made it all the way through.
Also everyone who's a Seeker tend to be very protective of the whole thing, but like to drop hints like crazy about the storyline. And try to convince others to do it while simultaneously warning them.

Heyyyy, fellow Hater! I do have a great appreciation for this quest, I don't think I've ever encountered anything remotely similar. The irony is that because people probably Google “how to get the best ending” for sekiro, the shura ending, which is the “easiest” has a smaller percentage of people who have completed it, at least on PS I think it’s like 17% return and 15% shura

    • @scuppo

Sekiro has 4 different endings. Why everyone would go for Shura (unknowingly) is because of that father son aspect where the game pushes you to follow your master. I thought the sekiro ending was pretty easy to get, It's one of the very few games that i actually completed more than once to get the multiple endings, Yeah it does require a guide but the things you do for the ending actually make sense once you stop to think about it, I think on my original playthrough i only missed like 1-2 steps. I appreciate there being good endings like that where the devs silently applaud you for actually paying attention to the story and what's going on around you. I think a lot of games just hand it over on a silver platter with obvious moral choices and easy to manipulate moral systems which kind of ruins the idea of trying to make the right choices in the first place.

The point Falcon is trying to make is you wouldn’t get that ending without a guide. And he’s right. That was my first ending. I only got it because I used Fighting Cowboys guide. Tbh. Dont think it's super rare but the ending in Dark Souls 3 where you summon the firekeeper , there is a moment in the cutscene when you can attack her and get a different ending. Its pretty brutal because the firekeeper is so kind & nice throughout the game and the cutscene then shows your character killing her. There is no achievement for this ending and it's pretty easy to do.

The Sekiro Purification ending is much more obscure and difficult to get than the Dragon Homecoming ending. For the Dragon Homecoming ending you will have it available at the end of the game by simply exploring areas and completing quests.
The Purification ending first requires that you eavesdrop on Kuro (which is something most players probably do not realize is possible) after defeating Owl and before going to the Dragonspring. Then you need to talk to Emma in 3 locations, eavesdrop on her and the Sculptor, and confront them with what you know. Then you will get a bell chime which alters the Memory of Hirata Estate and adds a new boss, respawns Juzou and gives him an ally, and then you have to fight and defeat Owl in his prime, which is easily the 2nd hardest fight in the game, all to obtain the ONLY ending where Kuro survives.

    - An ending where you do something during every fight that transpires in a mission (the bad ending)
    - An ending where you do that same thing but only on the last mission (the true ending)
    - And an ending where you never do that thing during a mission fight (the good ending)
By the way if I ever build up enough confidence to suggest the pitch, and if the pitch goes well, keep an eye out for a game called 'ANDROID' with a trailer that has Steven Yeun fighting a bunch of robots (don't ask)
P.S. I'm still working on the script.

I got the good ending for Steel Battalion Heavy Armor which requires you to beat the game without losing a single member of your platoon, and you need to finish the game at least once before that as that gives you the option to restart a mission after finishing it in case one of your platoon died(except for the last mission, which I learned the hard way, for that one either make a back-up save ahead of time or make sure to turn the console off before the credits finish rolling.

The Metro games are my favorite games to date, I really get in to them. I never really paid attention to the morality system though and just played through how I wanted. I got the bad ending on my first playthrough of Exodus and the good one on my second. I honestly cried for both, I still get a little choked up when thinking about them and it's the only game I've ever played that's made me cry. I'm assuming Exodus was end for the Metro games, which makes me more sad lol but all of them are more than worthy of future playthroughs from me. I only played through 2033 once and got the bad ending, not sure which one I got on Last Light, so I've definitely got some reasons to revisit them

I got the Purification ending in Sekiro- the only one where the child survives and one that's apparently even harder to get than Dragon Homecoming- entirely by chance! Once I heard there may be a way to save him I knew I had to try, and exhausted dialogue options at every step to see how I could make that happen

Fun Fact: for Star Wars Revenge of the Sith (for those who played it back in the day) if you beat the game, and then went back to the final chapter and skip the cutscene between Anakin and Obiwan before their final fight, Anakin actually beats obiwan and he stays as himself instead of turning Into Vader.

That sekiro ending is hard because part of it is glitching and doesn't work for some people, it's when the "child" locks her door and you need her to open it, for some people "me included" no matter what you do she doesn't open it, I got all trophies but didn't get the platinum cuz this ending never worked for me

I deleted PT but still had it in my library and it can still download on my PS4, and I have done this before and played it through several times. I’ve heard of this happening before but it seems to be rare, possibly tied to having the earliest versions of the PS4 hardware (I got mine like three months after release). If anybody else has a PS4 that can download PT, put it in this comment thread and we’ll see if we can figure it out.

I got the secret ending in Kingmaker. Probably (possibly?) would have gotten it without using a guide, but the game was so incredibly buggy I had to look at a general guide just to see if there was a way to get through certain areas before it crashed. That guide mentioned a secret ending, connected with stuff I was already doing.
Seriously, that game is terribly designed, and the console port is literally unbeatable without patches.

Probably because i have played a lot of games like this.
But when i look back, it is absolutely so complex and very convoluted, and i am shocked i got it at all.
I didn't even realise it was a rare ending until i went online and found out everyone else was struggling

There is one game I want to talk about, related to alternate endings. Prince of Persia: Warrior Within. Even though its a pretty old game now, but to talk about the life upgrades mechanics it had. If you manage to collect all 10 life upgrades hidden throughout the game in secret pathways, then return to Hourglass chamber, you would receive the water sword, and your final boss battle is with Dahaka. But if you don't collect all life upgrades, you would fight the Red Queen only as final boss, and not Dahaka. That's a lot of thought given by Ubisoft at the time when internet was only available mostly from net cafes, for alternative endings.

One day, I saw a comment on TH-cam that said to stare at the telephone for like a minute (which I already tried) but this time play a TH-cam video of screaming goats into your microphone. This triggered the ending…

What about Max Payne 2 where you can have Mona Sax live if you play the game on dead on arrival mode I didn't even know that was a thing and until years later also that mode is a beast!
There is also Eternal Darkness's secret/true ending where you have to beat the game three times with the different rune aliments with the same save file and then on the fourth playthrough you have the real ending.

The reason why star dew valley added the summet, is because the summet has always been in the game, however it was impossible to get to. if you modded to clip through walls you could find a way in, and it was a buggy mess since the beginning. the new ending is a nod to the community that has been theorizing this whole time

Either of the La Mulana games because lmao. Also I want to know if the guy talking actually knows what the Nethack reference he made means because that was incredibly brutal without save scumming. Even with all of the right gear, one single bad roll could end a week's worth of effort.
