I think it would be interesting to see Silver become an antagonist in the sense that as he continuously kept trying to change time he realized more and more how impossible it felt, loosing the hope he usually carries with him. Until he finds out about the Time Stones and attempts to change everything from the very beginning, essentially wiping the slate clean and it'll be up to Sonic and a younger/more hopeful Silver to put a stop to him before he causes too much damage to the time stream. Just a little idea but honestly amazing video and thanks for giving this lettuce head kid some much needed love. 😁👍👍
Thanks! Silver becoming a villain is something I've played around with a bunch, kinda hinted at it at 14:39 too. Him becoming super obsessed with fixing the past/future and playing god with the power he has. But Silver fighting a jaded, older version of himself from another timeline is an incredible angle as well, super intriguing to think about, very nice!
@@ALtheBoi agreed but I do feel like it would make more sense if it was Shadow and a younger Silver because they seem to have a closer bond than Sonic and Silver due to the whole mentor/student relationship between them as seen in 06, that and Shadow's immortal (he can't die of natural causes like age or disease) so I feel like that would be a good dynamic as well.
It should be Silver with his concept design that hails from alternative dimension where he is more serious won’t hesitate to hurt you if you stand in his way.
Ugh yes I love Shadow and Sliver working together. Their personality’s are so alike deep down, but different on the surface. I think they have a good balance for one another.
I like the idea of Silver creating a better future, living in it for a while... and then realising that he wants to make an EVEN BETTER future. He wants to give his new friends and family the best damn future imaginable, and with his previous "Sacrifice Everything For A Better Future" mentality, he doesn't realise that they don't have the same mentality. That'd be a good reason for a Future Shadow to come back and stop him, too - he doesn't think it's worth erasing the current Good Future and everyone in it, in favor of a Best Future.
I would argue that silver's "never give up " attitude is more than just "hope" but also comes from a sort of anger and frustration desiring to change the world with a tenacious defiance rather than just bright eyed hopeful optimism .
It’s definitely not as surface level as “He’s just Hopeful”, you’re right. What I was trying to get at was that, in essence, Silver’s persistence to make a good difference in the world and not giving up at any corner comes from the fact that he never lets go of hope.
I would argue that silver's "never give up " attitude is more than just "hope" but also comes from a sort of anger and frustration desiring to change the world with a tenacious defiance "never give up" infantine futures infonaut possibilities in one future there could easily be one reality that is a constant rick roll you can never escape and haunts his dreams at night. everything else is fine and normal though, it's just that dreaded song he will escape at any cost, he makes the whole sonic team go through hell and back just to rewrite the future back to that "pretty desert" from before, er.. after? whatever, you get what im saying though don't you?
I always thought the best way to deal with Silver as a character is to trap him in the past. He time travels one to many times, changes the future one too many times and creates a future without him. He's displaced beyond time itself, lost to a future he'll never be able to experience and trapped in the past where he, hopefully believes, he can make a difference and form a new life. Instead of bouncing him around, leave him stuck in the past, where the future he's from no longer exists and he can't go back to said future either.
I totally agree! I like to think that Silver being stuck in the past could symbolise the idea that you can't worry about what the future holds and you need to simply live in the present. Only with Silver, it's literal!
I like this idea, a lot, though i've definitely thought of it in a slightly different way, lol My idea of keeping Silver in the past is that, at some point (a 'playable' event, yknow, plot was *could* be turned into a game just by the fact that it's important), he realizes that him constantly returning to his future is what's *causing* his future to be a disaster. So the only way for him to save the future is to remain in the past, help around, be of assistance where he can. I also just find it sad that, in this case, Silver could never see a safe future because leaving is what causes the future's doom- it would be a learning opportunity for him too. That he's not enjoying his life, going back and forth, watching the demise of his future repeatedly. And i can see it being a point of struggle, he *wants* to go make sure the future is okay, but he shouldn't, he should worry about the present and enjoy himself a bit. This is definitely more hurt/comfort territory than what i initially thought it was going to be but Mentor Shadow softened me up. Besides, i want Silver to be happy, but his optimism is being put to the test with this- lol Anyways- i was just rambling..
That’s also a great idea, maybe he’s tackling the problem from another angle. “Maybe the reason i keep coming back is because I’m supposed to be here in the first place, so i’m gonna stay here for while”
Maybe he's afraid of going back to the future just to see it destroyed. After all he has nothing left, blaze is dead and nature is destroyed. He could go through his own arc and face his fear and have hope again for the future. It would humanize him a lot. Can you imagine being born in a hellish earth and be able to go go back in time would you really want to go back to the future again?
The idea of Silver coming back to the past over and over because every time he returns to the future its just as bad as before is extremely tragic, but also extremely compelling! It would also explain why he would be more willing to stick around for the spin-off games, since the present day is so much better than his cursed future, of course he'd keep coming back.
I freaking love Silver’s character. He has so much unused potential it’s saddening. He’s probably my absolute favorite Sonic character period, especially in the comics because they portrayed his story very well. 💜
About Silver's mentor being an immortal being from the past he travels to like Shadow, something like that was done in Archie. Mammoth Mogul was an immortal villain in the comic, but in Silver's future he was Silver's father figure and mentor that helped him figure out how to save the future. We don't know if this was an elaborate plan or he actually turned over a new leaf, but we wanted to see what would happen when Silver sees the past version of his mentor.
@@ALtheBoi archie had some of the best renditions of most characters. No shame in inadvertently doing the same thing! I loved this video btw. The timing and music were great and I enjoyed the content.
@@wannabehistorian371 No. They might've made a plot twist or something after Silver returned to the future when he was done with the Secret Freedom fighters, but sadly reboot.
@Ryun Chan In Archie canon, both Shadow and Mogul were established characters (Mogul actually came BEFORE Shadow but that's irrelevant) so I guess the writers just thought that role would fit the immortal god who's been around for millennia than the immortal teenage artificial hedgehog. And imo I agree, since that was able to revitalize the (relatively) unknown character, while Shadow has his own shit going on in the comics.
"Yall remember the time stones?" *Jamming intensifies* Also; YES, HOW DID SEGA FORGET THAT THEY LITERALLY HAVE MAGICAL GEMS FOR TIME TRAVEL EVEN THOUGH TIME TRAVEL IS AN IMPORTANT ELEMENT IN MULTIPLE OF THEY'RE GAMES
Less serious, but I just wish we could see his charming, adorable naivete in casual circumstances more often. It's like how Sonic tried to trash talk with him in TSR, but it went over Silver's head because he's just a genuine, endearing 14-year-old kid who's been too busy saving the world to learn how to talk to people. If he gets to be a main character more often (and he should), moments like that should pop up more often either before a game like that or sprinkled in a healthy amount during said game. He works much better as a character if the audience finds him endearing. It's a good way of reinforcing Blaze's repeated description of him as "naive." More showing to enhance the telling, you know? Sorry, I just love this kid. I really do.
Sonic is a character who takes almost nothing seriously, Shadow is a character who takes almost everything seriously. It makes sense for Silver to be in the middle, he's super serious in a serious situation, but if there are no stakes he shows his true dorky self.
HC: after silver tried gardening (from the sonic the hedgehog IDW 2019 anniversary short) he got really into it and has a little garden in the future in the only place that can grow plants
I didn't even think Silver needed much fixing, but this video definitely opened my eyes a bit. I hope and pray that at some point down the line, Sonic Team learns from the literal DECADE of cosntant mistakes and find a way to use the side characters they have for proper roles. Silver has SO much potential, and I don't think we'll ever have a character like him in the franchise ever again at this point, he's too good of a plot magnet to pass up! This does make me VERY interested in what you plan on doing for Blaze, Cream and Amy down the line. It's super sad how most of the girls in the franchise have been so underutalized in the games. Well, Cream's a exception at least, she's literally a kid with little adventuring experience.
@@TornaitSuperBird Honestly I completely forgot about Marine at the time, but she's only been in one game so I doubt Al here would make a video on her any time soon 😅
It's kinda weird how everyone complains about his character in 2006 yet in the other games He's way worse. Great video man, I was waiting for this for so long
Yeah. He was introduced from a very terrible game, but showed a lot about him. He’s just a place holder nowadays. But no matter what people is just gonna say “06 bad”. But you’re right he’s even worse now.
So, uh Shadow and Silver’s relationship is basically an introvert and the extrovert he accidentally attached himself to (That’s kinda hilarious when I think about it and I love it so much)
What if Silver was a guardian of multiple futures or something... like Silver's constant unexplained returns could be like Silver joined a DBZ Xenoverse style Time Patrol, and every time a possible future where the world is screwed shows up, Silver's job is to help Sonic prevent it... it would give Silver a reason to keep coming back, give his character purpose, and with the alternate timeline things that a Sonic Time Patrol could bring... could explain the existence of The Modern and Mania timelines... maybe relate it to Generations and Eggman's Time Eater stunt causing lots of timelines to result in the creation of a Time Patrol. Hmmm.... I mean Sega compared him to Trunks anyway..m might as well use it to enhance Silver as a character, but keep his personality different than Trunks because Silver is his own Hedgehog damn it!
See if I understand correctly, so silver can spot at which point of time the future gets ruined if he Wouldn’t have showed up. So his futures are automatically saved because the past (future) version of him already took care of it? Scientifically speaking, That actually makes more sense than my “Doomed Future” concept.
How about if Silver is always stuck a solid amount of time away from a world calamity event, that's always enough time to prevent it, be it by Iblis or by whatever destiny that caused Iblis. He could be born from a classic time paradox, where he teleported his body with psychic powers into the year +200, but that actually happened the moment he warped back in time and foresaw the future using those psychic powers. Now he's locked permanently in enough time to prevent the calamity, and if he slacks off he gets pushed back further in time, and because that makes him disappear we know all he was able to do in the past was get back to his original creation event. But if he gains power, he can prevent the calamity faster and doesn't get time slipped. If sonic prevents calamity for him, he doesn't get time slipped. But the calamity is always only stalled enough so that it's that same solid amount of time away, not prevented. This would bring constant tension to Silver's existence, and grounds him as really from this time but also from the future. If he gains the time emeralds but uses them wrong, is he blowing his chance to prevent the calamity? If he spends up his normal psychic powers? If he's holding the time stones and is able to whoop solaris in 5 minutes, is the calamity creeping to happen only 5 minutes from now and risking the life of Sonic et al in the process? Silver's existence becomes defined as trusting himself and trusting his friends to always go forwards and be ready to fight the calamity whenever it comes. And if he's just spending time with his friends and not getting slipped back in time, he knows they are working together to create a world were the calamity isn't happening soon. That's a bit of a combination I compromized from both of your ideas. Funnily enough one where the multiverse is crucially relevant, because the calamity is from whichever future timeline makes it possible when other lines fail it, it's that kind of pervasive evil that creates the past that causes it to happen so it can erase the past and glue both ends of time together at the point of its own victory. Blaze could have a similar origin story but one that goes between dimensions instead of time. That's why both were there at Iblis event, and why Silver is from only a single moment in time but Blaze is from a whole separate universe. That could also be why a flame is such a universal symbol of world creation and destruction.
That’s also pretty great, well done! An idea sparked in my head while reading your concept, it’s basically an amalgamation of all of our ideas, at a much smaller scale. what if at some point, silver tries to get creative with his time travel, but his experiment backfires, And he gets stuck in a short time loop (1 to 10 hours maybe) that always ends up with him dying if some Very specific routes and actions are not took. Every time he dies he gets weaker tho, so he has to break the loop before he DIES dies. We could take his psychokinesis away too, the time loop messed up his powers or something. make him more vulnerable. It’s nothing original but i think it would be fun to explore in a short film/game or something idk.
Definitely, imagine shadow still working for gun in 200 years and having the highest rank possible. And not only shadow, shouldn’t sonic be a legend in his time? What happens that causes silver not to recognize him? These would be really fun to explore.
AL The Boi yeah I agree, Sonic is the definitive hero of the world, and it’s not a secret or anything. In adventure 2, they literally say the world renowned hero, Sonic the Hedgehog.
@@ALtheBoi I could see Shadow as a sort of Gohan to Silver's Trunks, being a mentor figure who has been there, done that, and has to consistently cope with the fact that this god damn hedgehog he met once in the past, er, present, keeps showing up over and over.
I was a big fan of "Ghosts of The Future" and I think that would be a good template for a potential Silver spinoff. It would be an older version of Shadow training a rookie version of Silver to be a hero of his era. that could be tweaked for your "Doomed Future" concept. Silver returns to the future but doesn't recognize it so Shadow has to fill him in on what went wrong.
Thank you Thank you THANK YOU! HO-ly shit! thank you all so much for subscribing! the last video I uploaded there were 40 of you, now there's almost 500! I know it doesn't seem "that big" on this website, but when 500 PEOPLE stopped and said, "hm..you know what I want to see more of this guy" that honestly means the world to me and it's what keeps me going! AGAIN, thank y'all so much for all the love and support these past few months. Stay safe, Wash your hands, Keep writing, see ya next time.
Finally! A new video! I was really looking forward to this video! And now I really think my prediction from earlier this year will come true! Did you ever think about writing a list with your original subscribers on it? Would be fun to take a look at it some day... And it's my first time being an original subscriber of a channel that I'm sure will be big one day so I'm pretty excited😅
I'm honoured you mentioned one of my previous comments in the intro about Team Sonic. Thank you. Onto Silver himself, I always found him to be this sweet and naive cinnamon roll I just want to hug and help improve his situation by being a friend. And I never noticed that difference with him and Knuckles or similarity with him and Sonic before: Knuckles being introverted but Silver being extroverted, and Silver and Sonic expressing it in different ways. Now I think about it, it would be cool if Silver, Sonic, Shadow and Knuckles all interact together: two extroverts (Sonic and Silver) and two introverts (Knuckles and Shadow), especially with the respect angle for Sonic/Shadow, rival angle for Shadow/Knuckles, and mentor student angle for Shadow/Silver. And the whole thing with Shadow being a mentor to Silver is very poetic considering that Silver was close to going down the same path Shadow did. They just click and I love that. And sidenote about the tier list, I'm really interested in developing a few of those B and C characters further: Rouge and Cream specifically. The stuff you said about Rouge in the Shadow video really hit close to my heart, and I've always loved the soft spoken and bubbly Cream. Maybe she could be an apprentice to Tikal and Knuckles in learning how to take care of the Chao.
As a massive Silver fan, lemme say that this is definitely the best Silver video I’ve seen by far !! You broke down his character So well and understand his personality to a tee !! I’ve been saying the mentor/student dynamic with Shadow for a Lo n g time so to see it in this vid?? I just about squealed !!! SO many great thoughts and ideas in such an amazing video, I shed TEARS !!! Bless your soul omg ;;꒳ ;; 🙌🏽🙌🏽💙💚✨ Keep it up dude ‼︎‼︎
@@ALtheBoi Of COURSE oml, I literally have to come back every now and then just to hear how much you popped off oml (definitely didn't just do that right now lololol o//w//o) !
14:35 That transition gave me goose bumps! You're not only good at editing, you're also really damn good at scripting videos and putting value and excitement into the words you say!
What if the time eater was his villains or at least one of them. Everytime silver saves his future, the dystopian timeline he just fixed feeds the time eater and it makes another dystopia for him to fix thus making it an endless cycle. At least until silver brings the fight to the time eater itself
You know, I kinda like the idea of Silver being a more optimistic (or at least, a stepford smiler) version of Homura Akemi. A character that, no matter how many times he travels to the past to fix the future, he always comes back to find that it's still fucked. Just in a different way from the last time. Yet still he presses on and continues to travel into the past in the desperate hope that one day, he'll finally fix it and get the future he wants. I can get behind something like that.
The Time Stone collecting idea is brilliant - it could also double as a way for us to see each unique bad future through gameplay. Like, the first half of any Silver campaign takes place in that bad future with each level culminating in a Time Stone acquisition. Then he gets back to the past and the second half is him working with Sonic and the others to fix it.
Man, I really like this, both for what it means for Silver *and especially* what it means for Shadow. After 06, he didn't have much to *do* besides working with Team Dark, so him becoming a mentor to Silver would help him find some more purpose in his life.
Finnally someone else who thinks the timestones should be part of silvers story. I mean the macguffins that are a time travel use and the time travler from the future, how more obvious can you get.
The transition in 14:34 is phenomenal the pacing, music beats, and timed recording is..... phenomenal also this is my 4th time watching this video again YOU ARE UNDERATTED and why don't you at least have 10k subs man like wow you are amazing!!!!!!
That keep moving forwards part, at the end, also connects back to sonic's character in a very funny but extremely cool way. For as chopped up as ever charcter's story is their is an enormous amount of potential from them all they need to do is put that in a single game or story or something self contained
My best guess as to why silver's future suddenly becomes bad in forces is that maybe the phantom ruby showing up from mania messed things up since it wasn't supposed to be in the modern dimension. Maybe it was what caused to timeline to suddenly derail?
I think that's the canon explanation. The Phantom Ruby showed up out of nowhere in the Classic timeline, then it teleported to the modern timeline and was found by Eggman. Since the ruby just randomly inserted itself itself into a timeline, the future was changed. The question is, how does Silver even realize the future changed? Has he time travelled so much that his memories are never affected?
A pretty neat and creative video that explores sides of Silver I rarely see come to light. I particularly like the extra attention you give towards handling the timey wimey ball regarding why Silver continues to come back even after things get "fixed" and how he's able to do so. My personal head canon has always been something close to what you propose. But instead of constantly being in ruin, the future gets to experience these nice "calms before the storm". After helping in the latest game, the future gets decent again and then immediately goes to crap again not long after. It's this constant struggle to go back and constantly fix new calamities preluded by past events that keeps him coming back (and would allow ideas like that prequel comic to work). And I think the Time Stones are a splendid tool for him to use to keep going back to the present. I imagine SEGA now sees how convuluted the story can get when they allow the Chaos Emeralds to do too much things conveniently with time travel being the peak of it and thus have shyed away from the crazier applications of the emeralds and Chaos Control. So the Time Stones would make for a nice alternate MacGiffin that's more centralized on time, is something only Silver these days really has access to (we could say after CD the Time Stones tumbled into the future or some crap). and is something more limited in application so that it doesn't constantly poke the plot full of holes. It would just be nice to see Sega elaborate on how Silver deals with this future business post-06 but it sadly seems like they just can't be bothered to write around that and just want to keep it as simple and convenient as possible. Shame cause Silver definitely has a lot of potential if given the attention he deserves.
Thank you! Yea that whole “Silver coming back after another disaster” raises the problem of Silver coming back *immediately* after previous disaster, because that’s how time travel works. Silver collecting the time stones each time he uses them was kinda my solution for this, he has his own sub-adventures between the mainline adventures, but that “Impending Doom” idea of yours works equally as well.
Hot take: If ST had made Silver the protagonist of Generations, his character would have had a character arc which would have made a lot of sense and also had a new enemy to fight, having to join both classic and modern timelines to fight the final boss, only being able to play with also Sonic when you get to Modern era, but fighting the time boss with both of them.
I would actually love a game with many alternate futures. Like we keep coming back to Crisis City and it's always very fundamentally different, but you can tell it's the same city. Key locations are always in the same place, even if you have to take a different path to get there. You can tell what's wrong with the place each time because you've been there so much it's familiar. Crisis City actually feels like home, just a home that's deeply, deeply in trouble. And over various timelines you start to get a picture of what it's actually SUPPOSED to look like. The "true" form of Crisis City. And as you go back and forth, finding clues in the future and solutions in the past, figuring out what to change and what to leave alone, it always feels closer and closer to that ideal. Sure it's always messed up in new and exciting ways, but there's little things that let you know it's getting close. Shadow being a major character that alternates between friend and foe would also be very fun, but he needs to be an anchoring presence. Like no matter how much Silver screwed up, even if Shadow feels he needs to stop Silver at all costs, Shadow will always have his head in the game, always respect his student, and always want the best for Silver, even if he can't agree with his actions. Ultimately Shadow as an enemy would still be a friend, just not an ally. It would hurt Shadow to have to stop Silver, but he would do what he has to. There may even be a version that wants to destroy the future in order to save Silver, just as there would likely be one that's the reverse. I feel like such a game would have to end with a partial victory. Sure Crisis City is fixed, at least for the most part, but there's still more and more time and future for Silver to fix. He continually expands his horizons, building off of his past successes. This way he can still win AND have more that he needs to do for future games. Like he comes back and Crisis City is fine, but now he's worried about an entirely different problem.
It could work like a Metroidvania but you switch between timelines whenever one is more convenient Like say there’s a water-gate blocking the way, so you swap to the timeline where the whole place is a desert same location and all, just with different circumstances
Can we just appreciate how smooth these transitions are like i rewatched some of them nearly 4 times just Bc the editing, music and timing was perfect!! My personal favorite was when you said “y’all remember the time stones?” I honestly love the aesthetic of your videos!!
Amazing work! I already mentioned a little bit of my thinking for Shadow and Silver on your Shadow video, but this is awesome. I love the idea of the huggable cinnamon roll teaming up and learning with and from the stoic bad ass. It's a new take, it's interesting, and as you said, it could result in some amazing stories. Especially since Shadow is immortal, as long as he survives, he can always mentor Silver in the future. In fact, if Silver goes to his time again and finds Shadow dead, after being mentored by him post 06, that might distress Silver enough to go back and try again. Even if the future seems... okay-ish other than missing Shadow. He is the kind of guy that just might risk that to save his mentor.
Maybe the time stone can each represent something Red- Time of Rage L.Blue- Time of Hope D.Blue- Time of Sorrow Purple: Time of Past Yellow-Time of Future Orange- Time of Present White- Time of Creation Black- Time of Destruction Black being the extra Stone that causes Silver's ability to travel at will than usual time stones being set path but lets Silver travel to a lose time.
I actually really like that! Maybe Silver's feelings at the moments while using the time stones has an affect on its effects. Maybe it misfires and sends him too far back, or not far enough, or straight up shoot him into another timeline.
Bro how are you this sick? I love the music synced edits and all the complicated keyframe cropping you do it's just incredible. So unbelievably under rated!
While I mostly agree with what you said here, there is one problem I have that IMO is being overlooked. That by having Silver's future always be some type of doomed regardless of what happens it renders Sonic's actions moot. However, your villain idea actually can fix this problem and there is one character that is perfectly suited for the task, Dr. Nega/Eggman Nega. While at first Nega was Eggman's counterpart to Blaze, it was retconed later that Dr. Nega is a time traveler much like Silver, who hates his ancestor for ruining their family's reputation. So my idea is that while Silver is able to fix the future, only for Dr. Nega to try or succeed in screwing everything up again.
See I've actually thought about that 🤔 I believe that whatever sonic does in his own lifetime is everything he would've wanted and wouldn't take away from his legendary status if the world happens to be destroyed a couple of decades after his death from an unrelated source Now obviously we're dealing with different timelines here so everything is fair game, including your very valid thought proccess!
@@ALtheBoi Thanks! You're right Silver's future could indeed be more far into the future then I thought. It brings a sad irony into the situation, hes traveling too far into the past.
I liked how the comics explained why he was still in the past. Basically because he changed the future he technically no longer exists, but instead of disappearing he was just put into a stable time loop/alternate reality type thing. Bad future Silver->Past->fixing past=Good Silver Future but Good Silver future would never have a reason to go back, so bad future Silver needs to exist, but Bad future Silver fixing the future makes him not exist. So Bad future goes to past, and get's stuck in it to make that time loop. So technically in the Sonic Universe we have two Silvers. A variation from his fixed timeline we will never see, and the one that we know that has no home to go back too. (Okay that was not basic, but I do think it's a neat way to explain why he exists past 06)
Wow, you're videos really are giving me new perspectives of the character set from the whole franchise! I never realized how much thought Sega/Sonic Team have put in their writing between the lines. It's like an enlightenment!
I honestly do think that Shadow would most likely understand Silver the most out of anyone else for the same reasons you explained they’re a lot more similar than ppl realize
Didn't expect to find such a godlike video in the youtube boonies. Good jokes and interesting takes combined with amazing editing and only 2k views? Hidden gem, great work.
i think it could be a neat idea to tie the strength of silver's psychokinesis to his mental state. whenever silver is at his best, when he's confident, really hopeful, concentrated, inspired, or just feeling good about himself, he is able to use his psychokinesis to his fullest ability and with ease. However what if he loses that confidence, focus, determination, self positivity? It doesn't even have to be something big to cause it, he could just have a series of unlucky occurrences in a day. like stubbing your toe when you get out of bed, then finding out the shirt you wanted to wear today isnt dry yet so you have to wear a shirt you don't like, then finding out the milk you just poured into your bowl of cereal is expired, and it just sets a bad mood for the day. It could also be something bigger or threatening, but i think ya get the idea. I like to think silver is pretty confident in his psychokinesis abilities, and so therefore he has an easy time controlling them even if he gets a little down once in a while. But what if someone or something planted a seed of doubt in his abilities, even if unintentional? Maybe he starts to worry that his psychokinesis abilities will just dissapear one day, even though he has had no trouble with it at all? Those worries of course, would start coming true, not because of some outside malevolent force or anything of that sort, but because he doesn't trust his abilities like he used to. The next time he has a not ideal day and tries to use his psychokinesis under that stress AND reduced confidence, it doesn't work and he goes into a spiral of depression and it feels like the world is crumbling around him as he knows it. Or something similar to that :0 I just think that theres some untapped writing potential in silver's psychokinesis abilities. Even the most confident, kind, and hopeful people have a breaking point, and when they fall, they fall the hardest and the fastest, because they don't know how to handle the stress because they usually don't need to handle that stress. But they can get up, and they will get up, they just need some time and room for self care, and love from their friends and families. And when they are standing on two feet again, they are standing taller and prouder than they ever have.
Sonic 06 was my first Sonic game as a kid, and of course it was a bad first impression. But since I was a kid, I didn’t see it that way. Glitches or not I was invested and through all that, the one thing that stuck out and isn’t utilized is Silver himself. He felt so different from the other characters and I was upset he was essentially a one-and-done character
19:14 *m a n* also thanks for using the JP version, I'm Japanese + love Shadow's Japanese VA so I get really happy when English speakers use JP game clips in their videos :) His tone also really adds to the mood of the scene. In general, everything in this video is so well made. Amazing job!!!
Holy crap I can't believe I just found this channel. I remember rewriting 06 in my head a while back and I loved the concept of Shadow taking Silver under his wing as a mentor after seeing his potential. Silver is really powerful, and Shadow sees the potential for him to be a better version of himself.
Bro! Can you imagine how good a Sonic game could be if real care and consideration were taken with each character. If you take a step back Silver is so sick as a character and the way you formatted your explanation was incredible. I noticed the 'leaf' motif on his front cover, nice touch ;)
The whole Silver's shadow portion would almost create a Shadow the Hedgehog 2 where Silver gets to be playable again. And we can explore Mephiles' line of Shadow becoming enemy number 1 in the future.
Such a freaking good video my man! I love Silver so much, hes just a Good Boy(TM) and i hate that he gets little to no proper development in the games. I adore his character in the recent comics tho, but i wish there was more. Videos like yours might help get the attention of SEGA at some point! Carry on, my good man!💕💕
Firstly, I just wanna say, I LOVE the ideas you brought up here, bringing back the time stones is an amazing way to keep a lock on the time travel abilities while still keeping it familiar to fans who know about them and the idea for the different types of futures being able to mess with Silver in different ways and Shadow also getting involved is just amazing too God, you just deserve every amount of praise you get given Anyway, I have a few little ideas for stuffs so I’ll mention them here Ideas: Amy: I think you mentioned this before but Amy should be more of a leader, someone who is good at leading others while still liking Sonic but not to an extreme extent. Maybe make her leadership and drive to help others a way for her to try to impress her hero After all, Sonic saved her from Little Planet, so it would make sense for her to want to be like him, so to impress him and to show him that she’s worth his attention she tries to be a good hero but tension could rise if Sonic ignores her efforts possibly leading her to take things into her own hands. She could try to stop the villain on her own. The Chaotix: For Espio, Vector and Charmey, I’d honestly like to see them as people that look into what Eggman is doing to see if they can catch him planning something, they would be paid by the government since after the stuff Eggman has pulled off they’d probably want him to be checked on to make sure shit doesn’t happen. Professor Pickle: He is our lord and saviour and he is perfection *Change nothing about him* Eggman: Just make him like the Sonic Unleashed intro Or THAT scene in SA2... you know the one Those scenes got so much right Just make him an big threat, give him some presence, no more of this powerful sidekick stuff or god betrayal and no more of the stupid jokes that paint him out to not be a threat He’s the main villain, so make him like one Blaze: While Shadow is Silver’s mentor, Blaze could be his closest friend, after all, she is the one that’s suffered through the shit Silver’s dealt with alongside him so she would have a grasp on how he feels and would be able to help him when he gets mentally bad Now... I know Blaze did die at the end of 06 so... Perhaps they could center something around Silver trying to bring Blaze back to life with his time travelling, he has to collect the time stones from his time, go back and do everything he can to prevent Blaze from dying while still trying to save his future, now more knowledgeable about the truth ....y’know, now that I think about it this centers more on Silver but that’s because Blaze could make his character work better Big and Froggy: Now, I know these two have some... history surrounding them, so I have to be really careful with what I say here so... Here goes... Lets make Big the Cat An assassin He wears a suit and shades, he carries around guns in both hands and smokes weed while shooting fuckers Froggy is the one that tells Big who he’s supposed to eliminate and Big goes and does it Like the badass he is The game he’s in revolves around the struggling relationship between Big and Froggy, where Big wants to quit the line of work they’re in to go back to fishing but Froggy ain’t having any of that shit, so Froggy sends assassins to go kill Big, but Big fights through them to speak face to face with Froggy... How did I come up with this XD
Yuti good ideas also big the assassin...😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 also I don’t think big idea will work as well as intended considering sonic is target towards older and younger audiences but it’s still not a bad idea.
Thank you so much! alright, let's see... Amy: that is the exact direction i'm taking Amy. growing out of her fan-girl phase while still having her crush on sonic. that'll make her less annoying And sonic doesn't get sexually assaulted every other day, win-win. i think they've been doing that ever since Lost World. but then she's left with nothing. The Chaotix: the problem with these guys stems from the fact that they're usually involved, but not involved enough, they're just there. definitely need to amp up the detective agency situation. Professor Pickle: you can't fix God, next. Eggman: yeah pretty much, i think Mike Pollock carries Eggman too well for him to be a bad character, the only problem is what you just said, he's not evil enough Blaze: i didn't say anything about her in this video, because i think TSR handled their relationship pretty well, it just need a little more polish to be perfect. and i don't think we need to worry about blaze in '06, they kinda swept her under the rug and continued on with her Rush canon. Big: aaaaand you turned big into florida man, great.
@@ALtheBoi Forgive me my bad english, but Amy is one of my favorite characters. I want to say my opinion on her here, because I like this idea in comment and there is no video about her on this channel (yet ) . I love her and I know, that she has her crazy moments and she can be veeeeeery anoying. But I think she has a personality besides just loving guy and stuff around him. Sega just don´t show it, cause Sonic treating Amy like a garbage when she harass him is supposed to be „funny“ or something.... I hate it. It´s kinda Knuckles situation. But still I love her. She is extreamly releateble to young girls. The most of girls in her age are like that. They love romance, are instantly talking and thinking about boys, planing and dreaming about marriege, they are in love with boy idols. On top of that, she is optimistic extrovert... and i don´t know, just starting puberty or something. This all is ... all right in some point. I mean she is pink and girlish, we know, we get it, she is A GIRL among the main characters... so mainly kids can releate. She do not represents Sonic´s raw and rude teenage energy. She was a little innocent girl. But now? Now... she just fills holes in story. Like you need someone to take charge in background, because the story has complicated environment and Sonic needs to be hero - Amy. Don´t get me wrong, I like this idea. I want her to be more independent and useful. But not like sidekick character who just solves problems and helps behind the scenes! Amy is good character. Very honest, helpful, social, energetic and open-minded. She is so adorabl, cute and so good with people! Even when she´s not doing hero stuff, she helps heroes, she remainds them why they are fighting. It´s saying a lot- you don´t have to be strong and special to help, just be kind to people and listen to them. And when she starts fighting, oh god, she has a BIG hammer! Come on! She is a hedgehog, this little girl is a heavy hitter and very strong, she can keep up (at least a little) with sonic, she is very smart and clever, has great sense of justice. And I love how playfull and teasing she can be sometimes. Amy has the bigest determination of all the characters. She always gets what she wants, it´s in her mindset (but not in mean way). So... this girl grew up over time. And I want her to grow even more. I love idea of having own boss fights... or at least decent women rival! It could be also great example for young girls. Just look at Amy and iconic Sonic-Shadow-Silver trio. We see that hedgehogs get all special teratment, but she doesn´t get a shit :D Only her thing are tarot cards and her „intuision“ (and i like it, but no game really use this propertly ). She´s not so strong yet, but can be. Even Sonic is afraid of her temper sometimes. And her fighting is very reckless but can get better like another improvement. Also Amy is already faster then she was in classic games. This hedgehog just has so many underated and forgoten abilities, plus she is pushing herself so far beyond her limits. Like no one in games. Mainly because of Sonic. So imagine what can Amy do for world as another hero like Sonic, Shadow and Silver are. However... She can't even go super or at least fight like my 3 hedgy boys. It's so sad compare her to them. And you know, it´s very good example, not only for girls, but for everyone - it doesn´t metter if you weren´t born with talent or special abilities, when you have more determination than people around you. You can work hard and succeed. Be better person. It´s so real. I realy want her to drop that crush or just hide it. But show her unconditional love more to friends instead and to the world like a real hero! That´s all. I hope you uderstand that :D Thanks for reading my opinion. I hope you will make a video about her, cause I love your content!
Lucy Willow This is Great! some of the things you said really struck a chord with me and gave me some ideas, it'll definitely make it into the video, if that's alright with you of course.
I loved and still love Silver one of my favorite characters like his design is nice, and a hedgehog with telekinesis love it. Plus that Mary Jane Leaf head is wonderful.
Silver is one of my favourite characters in the series and he still has so much untapped potential story and gameplay wise. The comics have really made me hopeful for Ian Flynn doing character writing for Frontiers. I love your idea of Silver having his own Shadow, be it an alternate timeline or our Shadow who lost his way or snapped over hundreds of years. I'm not 100% sure if he even is immortal but if they introduced that I'd buy it. I'd love to see you do a How to Fix for Cream. The comics made me fall in love with her again but I can't see her being used in the games as playable or having a major role again because she's been reduced to scared child. Have her as a caretaker in a chao garden within the games or a spin off. The comics have a section where Sonic says she's the bravest person they have because of her desire to cheer everyone and that she's "going to grow up into someone amazing". That bit really stood out to me for showing how highly sonic thinks of her but also her potential going forward. Age her up just a bit so she still has the adorable cute factor but is also more believable capable on her own without Cheese and Emerl
I’m making a comic about Silver being the protagonist and I love your idea that every time Silver comes back to the future after changing the past it’s still ruined in a different way also in my comic he has the Time Stone since birth for reasons I’ll explain later, thank you for the ideas!
It should have the abilities that Silver had in 06 and even maybe give him new powers also instead of using the boost gameplay, he can teleport, also he can have a new feature that he can dodge enemies attacks by pressing Y or freeze enemies for 10 seconds, also maybe have Blaze as like a second playable character that appears here and there during the game and you can do team up attacks that could do major damage against bosses and wipe out groups of Badniks also the story should have something to do with maybe Eggman nega but than after you “defeat” eggman nega, the future changes to an alternate version of the ending of Sonic Heroes or IDW sonic and in this alternate future, Metal Sonic won and took over the world and then he and Blaze have to team up to take down Neo Metal and the roboticized versions of the whole sonic cast (except silver and Blaze since well, they weren’t around in sonic heroes)
An idea for Silver that could work would be to play on the "man outside time" concept, and say that since the future has been changed so much by his intervention that he can't return without a paradox occurring that would wipe him from the timeline and just reset everything. So he becomes sort-of a hero, popping up in times when he thinks he can help. Who knows, maybe have a bit of backstory where sonic was inspired to be a hero thanks to a mysterious white hedgehog he'd read about in history books, and have the characters connect the dots over the course of a game. Maybe Silver, because he's outside of time, doesn't age either, and is perpetually at the age he was when he first time traveled. I always pictured Silver as kind-of a tragic character
maybe it's been mentioned before but funnily enough the archie comics did use the time stone's (i think) as silver's mode of time travel, using a technique called "chronos control".
This guy unitententionally summed up the entire Archie Silver, Future that always remains messed up one way or another, Immortal mentor, time stones being used by Silver to time travel
My boy is too pure for his time. He just wants to be a hero and a friend to all. He's my favorite character so SEGA better give him his own game and I swear if they do and it's bad but the story is good then I WILL play it!
Silver and Shadow both having alternate timelines where they turned evil and the other had to take them out, and then going back in time to try to create a scenario where they both survive as heroes, might be the closest anyone ever comes to explaining the story of Shadow the Hedgehog The Game The Atrocity. Edit: Or he could keep coming back to find a wasteland, or either Shadow or Blaze dead, and keep coming back to try to find a solution where they both survive, but give them lame excuses about theme parks because he doesn't know how to say, "I came back in time because you died, and my optimism has a dark side in toxic perfectionism."
IDW actually does this exact thing, silver's future is constantly changing between fixed and ruined (from different things) from spontaneous developments in the current time, giving him an actual reason to keep coming back
I kind of like Silver as a less serious comedic character. Idk, with Blaze seemingly a lot more grounded and serious, Silver being this innocent, hopeful, naïve idiot feels like it'd be fun. Blaze can be serious and perhaps more of a realist and less hopeful, but she goes along with Silver and his extravagant ideas for a better outcome because she doesn't want him to lose that innocence. Other things, Sonic is being competitive, cocky, and snarky, Shadow is being competitive, serious, and a hard-ass, Silver is just happy to be there. Amy and Silver just hanging out enjoying themselves, maybe being as naïve as you can get, but they have such a child spirit glow in their eyes. I can see Amy taking Silver to go shopping for no other reason than just cause. Silver is one of my favorite characters, my most favorite being eggman, and it's sad he's shat on because 06 was a travesty of cataclysmic proportions, but I'd really wish Sega would give him a better chance and also just better writing in general, make him the most innocent of the hedgehogs, I think we need someone more happy-go-lucky and sweet to bounce off of uh...what ever the fuck Shadow is these days, and Sonic who's more laid back but also incredibly cocky, just a nice breath of fresh air for a character. This adorably innocent, hopeful, naïve nincompoop who gets wide eyed at childish things from the past and is best friends with Amy cause they can connect somewhat on that level, all while Blaze is just there happy that Silver is happy and has a childish spirit despite of the terrible things they've been through and seen together in the future. A fun character, and a beautiful friendship with someone who'd otherwise see them as a child not worth their time. Idk I just kind of want more innocent and sweet characters since a lot of the sonic games these days feel overly serious, and sonic's personality kind of gets old for me at times, more so eye-rolling, and shadow is...well kind of shitty, ruined to all hell after Adventure 2, the only one who seems to never get old and stay loveable and fun to see everywhere is Eggman, Tails was ruined and turned into a bitch after his development in adventure 1, Amy while I like her as Silver's friend, is all over the place with obsession of sonic to...Boom..., Knuckles is great but boom turned him into a dipshit, and all the games seem to just...forget he's this bad ass who is meant to be protecting a VERY IMPORTANT artifact that HOUSES A FUCKING CHAOTIC GOD.
What I would give for a fully fleshed out video essay about the good parts of Sonic '06 from you bro 😭😭😭 the way you explain things and make the visuals so emotional is insane
A SILVER AND SHADOW GAME WOULD BE SOOO COOL like maybe segas chance to make something like 06 SHOULD HAVE BEEN and give everyone a new and better impression of silver. cute naive hedgie on the surface, brave persistent hero on the inside. both of the characters have so much room to learn from eachother, shadow keeps emotions to himself while silver spills his heart out. they work SO well as a team, almost like blaze and silver, though theres a bit more edge to shadow that would really be fun to see play out
I loved this video and the ideas you came up with here, similar to you I also thought it made sense to have Silver use the time stones to time travel. We also had a similar idea for the character to where Silver would come back to a different ruined future since it makes no sense for him to go back and the future is fine when we know he comes back in other games to say his future has been ruined, unless it all just happened suddenly which would go against how time travel works (also Forces should be retconned because it implies that time travel causes separate timelines to occur which would go against Silver's whole existence as well as CD if going back into the past didn't directly affect the future). I could honestly see a villain arc with Silver because as he constantly goes back to fix the future and realizes that it seems to be a futile effort unless he gets rid of the problem, Eggman. I would love to see Silver sorta revert back to his character in 06 where his goal is to kill the "trigger" that causes these events to take place. He may brush off the idea as a nasty thought at first but as he continues to go back to ruined futures, he becomes jaded, and that nagging question of "Is it right to kill someone to save the world" stops weighing on his conscious as much until he's made up his mind. But I like to think at some point, this is where he meets with a certain immortal hedgehog and tells him that killing Eggman won't do anything. Eggman has been crucial to saving the world before (SA2, Chronicles, Sonic Advance 3) and while those technically did start because of him, his genius could still help in a time of need. There's nothing to say that after you kill Eggman, a crueler genius won't emerge to take his place (alluding to Eggman Nega who is another super underutilized character). This could lead to Silver losing his Hope but I think this also could leave to Silver deciding to stay in the present, that way he can for sure stop whatever harm comes to the future for good. I'm not sure what you could do with his character after that but I'm sure someone better at storytelling could come up with something, maybe he occasionally visits the future to check on Shadow or smth idk lol. tl;dr there's a lot more you could do with this character!
silver is one of my favorite characters mostly beacuse of his lost potential, i see so much i can do to him to make him a better character and the way you went was just so perfect, really liked your video and immediately fell in love with your channel :D
@@ALtheBoi oh, didnt excpected for you to notice me so quickly, thanks :), im wacthing all of your "fixing characters" videos and im really liking it, your editing is really good and your views in the sonic franchise are also really good, not even in an opinion factor(cant really describe what i was trying to say so just know that i think youre cool), ive just ended the tails video and as you've said in this video, im going to collect as much info as i can on this videos to make my own sonic universe im planning on, its gonna have fangames and a "anime", and some other cool stuff that i cant think of it rn, but im planning to do way too many things so its gonna take a while(not to say i dont even have the resources to go into the execution phase yet so i'll get as much use of the planning stage as i can), hope you find it cool, im putting a lot of effort into this project, and if you want you can even help me out on it eh? uhh, wait where was i again? oh yea, your videos are cool and you deserve 1k subs :3
Thank you for the kind words. Keep working on your art man, make sure to take it one at a time to not overwhelm yourself. I don’t exactly know what you mean with “helping”...? But i’ll do what i can, just ask. Maybe i’ll make a discord server if there’s demand for it, that’s a good place to talk things out, we can all hang out too, idk.
@@ALtheBoi oh, uh, by "helping" i was just joking around, but what i meant was just some ideas suggestions, and dont worry about i being overwhelm'd by it, im having lots of fun getting more ideas about the world and story and not even considering my other projects, so dont worry, and also making a discord server is good overall for more community interaction, but if you dont feel like doing it then you dont need it, as i said, do it if you want it, im not forcing you or anything
I absolutely adore this, silver is probably one of my favorite sonic characters and all of these ideas (minus the time stone stuff but that a personal thing) are absolutely fantastic!
My idea is to have silver’s backstory altered, which can be explained with time travel altering the future so that he is in a similar roll to knuckles, except guarding the time stones, with him staying at some sort of temple in the future, that would have easy access to the past.
I like the idea of him just traveling back in time to visit his friends because... I mean he's actually got some in the past. Then every time he comes back someone tries to take over the world. And it gets to the point where he's like Gandalf in Lord of the Rings. Everyone likes him well enough but every time he shows up everyone's like "oh man, not this guy again. Welp better get ready to stop an appocolypse event again..."
I've never thought of having Shadow be a mentor to Silver, but it actually makes a lot of sense, especially since shadow is in a place where he's kinda gone through his major arc, it might give him a role to further develop
This sounds like I really cool idea! If SEGA hired a competent writer this would be an amazing story.
It should be Silver with his concept design that hails from alternative dimension where he is more serious won’t hesitate to hurt you if you stand in his way.
sounds like erens story
Agreed
It seems idw had to make shadow contrast to silver. And have shadow be too hard and edgy while silver is too soft and dorky.
@@crimsonzone8984not really, at heart they’re similar
@@ultracommander8368 how are they similar?
Put him in a GOOD game, for a start.
or you know...just Games in general.
He was in Generations.
I think he meant put him in And have him be involved in the story.
So Colors DS is out of the picture too then
He was good in 06 story wise
I would argue that silver's "never give up " attitude is more than just "hope" but also comes from a sort of anger and frustration desiring to change the world with a tenacious defiance rather than just bright eyed hopeful optimism .
It’s definitely not as surface level as “He’s just Hopeful”, you’re right.
What I was trying to get at was that, in essence, Silver’s persistence to make a good difference in the world and not giving up at any corner comes from the fact that he never lets go of hope.
I would argue that silver's "never give up " attitude is more than just "hope" but also comes from a sort of anger and frustration desiring to change the world with a tenacious defiance
"never give up"
infantine futures
infonaut possibilities
in one future there could easily be one reality that is a constant rick roll you can never escape and haunts his dreams at night. everything else is fine and normal though, it's just that dreaded song he will escape at any cost, he makes the whole sonic team go through hell and back just to rewrite the future back to that "pretty desert" from before, er.. after? whatever, you get what im saying though don't you?
I like this idea, a lot, though i've definitely thought of it in a slightly different way, lol
My idea of keeping Silver in the past is that, at some point (a 'playable' event, yknow, plot was *could* be turned into a game just by the fact that it's important), he realizes that him constantly returning to his future is what's *causing* his future to be a disaster.
So the only way for him to save the future is to remain in the past, help around, be of assistance where he can.
I also just find it sad that, in this case, Silver could never see a safe future because leaving is what causes the future's doom-
it would be a learning opportunity for him too.
Besides, i want Silver to be happy, but his optimism is being put to the test with this- lol
Anyways- i was just rambling..
So give him the Eobard Thawne treatment and make him a Paradox. Cool
What if silver permanently stayed in the past to protect the people of the future until he can find a way to permanently keep the future safe
@@HeyMomonia brilliant
@@michaelmenna9039 Thanks man
@@HeyMomonia i don’t wanna ruin the moment but 06 isn’t canon meaning blaze is still in another time
The idea of Silver coming back to the past over and over because every time he returns to the future its just as bad as before is extremely tragic, but also extremely compelling!
I actually noticed that after someone pointed it out, didn’t realize I inadvertently just made Archie Silver but in game canon 💀
@@ALtheBoi archie had some of the best renditions of most characters. No shame in inadvertently doing the same thing! I loved this video btw. The timing and music were great and I enjoyed the content.
Did they ever explain why Mammoth Mogul turned good?
"Yall remember the time stones?"
*Jamming intensifies*
Also; YES, HOW DID SEGA FORGET THAT THEY LITERALLY HAVE MAGICAL GEMS FOR TIME TRAVEL EVEN THOUGH TIME TRAVEL IS AN IMPORTANT ELEMENT IN MULTIPLE OF THEY'RE GAMES
“I like sand, it’s not course, not rough, irritating, and it gets everywhere...”
“What?”
Silver's arch enemy: Dr Facilier.
Guess he's got friends on the other side
HC: after silver tried gardening (from the sonic the hedgehog IDW 2019 anniversary short) he got really into it and has a little garden in the future in the only place that can grow plants
I love that, definitely something he’d do
I didn't even think Silver needed much fixing, but this video definitely opened my eyes a bit.
Marine basically doesn't exist.
@@TornaitSuperBird Honestly I completely forgot about Marine at the time, but she's only been in one game so I doubt Al here would make a video on her any time soon 😅
Maybe its because we never got to see much of him, except in one game that... is really infamous

Shadow and Silver’s relationship is basically an introvert and the extrovert he accidentally attached himself to

That “Y’all remember the Time Stones?” was WAY smoother than it had to be I love it
What if Silver was a guardian of multiple futures or something... like Silver's constant unexplained returns could be like Silver joined a DBZ Xenoverse style Time Patrol, and every time a possible future where the world is screwed shows up, Silver's job is to help Sonic prevent it... it would give Silver a reason to keep coming back, give his character purpose, and with the alternate timeline things that a Sonic Time Patrol could bring... could explain the existence of The Modern and Mania timelines... maybe relate it to Generations and Eggman's Time Eater stunt causing lots of timelines to result in the creation of a Time Patrol.
@@ALtheBoi Pretty much. With Silver in a Time Patrol type role, Silver could constantly track where things go wrong without his intervention.
Kinda reminds me of a line from the archie comics where it's mentioned he's training to be a " knight of kronos ".
I really wish he knew some of the characters in the future, especially with Shadow being immortal, would love to see a future shadow.
@@sonicrulez6916 I wonder how powerful Shadow could be in that length of time.
@@chi-wind8593 Honestly, it's kind of surprising that 06 DIDN'T have a future version of Shadow.
Oooooo!!! I loved that comic series!
Shadow doesn't age though so he wouldn't look older

You're video's are absolutely hilarious, they make perfect sense and you definitely deserve these subscribers and more.
This editing is so good
I'm honoured you mentioned one of my previous comments in the intro about Team Sonic.
Nah, fuck that redditor wholesome 100 Keanu chungus bullshit, keep'em like in 06 and build on that.

14:35 That transition gave me goose bumps! You're not only good at editing, you're also really damn good at scripting videos and putting value and excitement into the words you say!
That is really flattering man, thank you!
Np!
4:35 could’ve sworn that would say “cha cha real smooth”
The Time Stone collecting idea is brilliant - it could also double as a way for us to see each unique bad future through gameplay. Like, the first half of any Silver campaign takes place in that bad future with each level culminating in a Time Stone acquisition. Then he gets back to the past and the second half is him working with Sonic and the others to fix it.
I love that!
@@ALtheBoi Thanks! Just found your videos man, they're awesome. Also your editing is intense lol.
Silver is a character that needs so much exploration in the games, I mean give him his own game!!
My best guess as to why silver's future suddenly becomes bad in forces is that maybe the phantom ruby showing up from mania messed things up since it wasn't supposed to be in the modern dimension.
Maybe it was what caused to timeline to suddenly derail?
That’s actually a great headcanon to explain that away, nice job!
Silver collecting the time stones each time he uses them was kinda my solution for this, he has his own sub-adventures between the mainline adventures, but that “Impending Doom” idea of yours works equally as well.
i like how this guy says what he thinks in the coolest way possible and just banger music just drops.
I got hecking goosebumps twice just from the story possibilities presented in this video.
He is so underutilized, it's incredibly frustrating!
TWICE wow, *That’s* a compliment
Okay so for the whole "Shadow being Silver's immortal mentor" is an idea that I absolutely LOVE!!!!
It could work like a Metroidvania but you switch between timelines whenever one is more convenient
Like say there’s a water-gate blocking the way, so you swap to the timeline where the whole place is a desert
same location and all, just with different circumstances
Maybe the time stone can each represent something
Red- Time of Rage
L.Blue- Time of Hope
D.Blue- Time of Sorrow
Purple: Time of Past
Yellow-Time of Future
Orange- Time of Present
White- Time of Creation
Black- Time of Destruction
Black being the extra Stone that causes Silver's ability to travel at will than usual time stones being set path but lets Silver travel to a lose time.
I actually really like that!
Maybe Silver's feelings at the moments while using the time stones has an affect on its effects. Maybe it misfires and sends him too far back, or not far enough, or straight up shoot him into another timeline.
This man just casually dropped better sonic lore than team sonic and the games ever could.
Bro how are you this sick? I love the music synced edits and all the complicated keyframe cropping you do it's just incredible. So unbelievably under rated!
Okay, I finished all of your 'fixing Sonic characters' you released so far, and you have earned my sub. These are amazing, I hope you make more. 😊
I appreciate you, thanks!
I've never hated silver and I NEVER will, I always thought he was awesome and I'll always be a fan.
Yes silver should had a a lot of respect and should be in a lot of attention!!!
See I've actually thought about that 🤔
I believe that whatever sonic does in his own lifetime is everything he would've wanted and wouldn't take away from his legendary status if the world happens to be destroyed a couple of decades after his death from an unrelated source
Now obviously we're dealing with different timelines here so everything is fair game, including your very valid thought proccess!
@@ALtheBoi
Thanks!
Bad future Silver->Past->fixing past=Good Silver Future
but Good Silver future would never have a reason to go back, so bad future Silver needs to exist, but Bad future Silver fixing the future makes him not exist.
I’m faltered, thank you so much!
11:25 BRUH SO FUNNY AND INFORMATIVE IN CHARACTER ARCS AT THE SAME TIME!
i think it could be a neat idea to tie the strength of silver's psychokinesis to his mental state. whenever silver is at his best, when he's confident, really hopeful, concentrated, inspired, or just feeling good about himself, he is able to use his psychokinesis to his fullest ability and with ease.
Or something similar to that :0
I just think that theres some untapped writing potential in silver's psychokinesis abilities.
I love that actually, it’s a great nerf for his powers that falls in line with his character!
I want to see Silver act like he does in Tails Gets Trolled.
19:14 *m a n*
also thanks for using the JP version, I'm Japanese + love Shadow's Japanese VA so I get really happy when English speakers use JP game clips in their videos :)
His tone also really adds to the mood of the scene. In general, everything in this video is so well made. Amazing job!!!
Thanks you!
And yes, Kouji Yusa is brilliant.
"Silvers Shadow" is just perfect
Thank you I was proud of that one
Holy crap I can't believe I just found this channel. I remember rewriting 06 in my head a while back and I loved the concept of Shadow taking Silver under his wing as a mentor after seeing his potential. Silver is really powerful, and Shadow sees the potential for him to be a better version of himself.
Bro! Can you imagine how good a Sonic game could be if real care and consideration were taken with each character. If you take a step back Silver is so sick as a character and the way you formatted your explanation was incredible. I noticed the 'leaf' motif on his front cover, nice touch ;)
Not going to lie, I was thinking about the time stones as part of my own vision of sonic 06.
This channel is CRIMINALLY underrated
Appreciate ya!
Same for you!
Love Silver’s design. And his backstory is a bit confusing but interesting
I always looved silver as a kid I hope they do him so justice in future games soon
Carry on, my good man!💕💕
ok im not gonna lie that transition to the topic of time stones was slick
This is actually some great advice for Silver’s potential stories. The time stones being brought into play again in particular I find Very interesting
Firstly, I just wanna say,
I LOVE the ideas you brought up here, bringing back the time stones is an amazing way to keep a lock on the time travel abilities while still keeping it familiar to fans who know about them and the idea for the different types of futures being able to mess with Silver in different ways and Shadow also getting involved is just amazing too
God, you just deserve every amount of praise you get given
Anyway, I have a few little ideas for stuffs so I’ll mention them here
Ideas:
Amy: I think you mentioned this before but Amy should be more of a leader, someone who is good at leading others while still liking Sonic but not to an extreme extent.
Maybe make her leadership and drive to help others a way for her to try to impress her hero
After all, Sonic saved her from Little Planet, so it would make sense for her to want to be like him, so to impress him and to show him that she’s worth his attention she tries to be a good hero but tension could rise if Sonic ignores her efforts possibly leading her to take things into her own hands.
Professor Pickle: He is our lord and saviour and he is perfection
*Change nothing about him*
Eggman: Just make him like the Sonic Unleashed intro
Or THAT scene in SA2... you know the one
Those scenes got so much right
Just make him an big threat, give him some presence, no more of this powerful sidekick stuff or god betrayal and no more of the stupid jokes that paint him out to not be a threat
He’s the main villain, so make him like one
Blaze: While Shadow is Silver’s mentor, Blaze could be his closest friend, after all, she is the one that’s suffered through the shit Silver’s dealt with alongside him so she would have a grasp on how he feels and would be able to help him when he gets mentally bad
Now... I know Blaze did die at the end of 06 so...
Perhaps they could center something around Silver trying to bring Blaze back to life with his time travelling, he has to collect the time stones from his time, go back and do everything he can to prevent Blaze from dying while still trying to save his future, now more knowledgeable about the truth
....y’know, now that I think about it this centers more on Silver but that’s because Blaze could make his character work better
Big and Froggy: Now, I know these two have some... history surrounding them, so I have to be really careful with what I say here so...
Here goes...
Lets make Big the Cat
An assassin
He wears a suit and shades, he carries around guns in both hands and smokes weed while shooting fuckers
Froggy is the one that tells Big who he’s supposed to eliminate and Big goes and does it
Like the badass he is
The game he’s in revolves around the struggling relationship between Big and Froggy, where Big wants to quit the line of work they’re in to go back to fishing but Froggy ain’t having any of that shit, so Froggy sends assassins to go kill Big, but Big fights through them to speak face to face with Froggy...
Eggman: yeah pretty much, i think Mike Pollock carries Eggman too well for him to be a bad character, the only problem is what you just said, he's not evil enough
Blaze: i didn't say anything about her in this video, because i think TSR handled their relationship pretty well, it just need a little more polish to be perfect.
and i don't think we need to worry about blaze in '06, they kinda swept her under the rug and continued on with her Rush canon.
Big: aaaaand you turned big into florida man, great.
[AL The Boi]
Yeah, you’re right with all of that
I can’t really disagree

This is Great! some of the things you said really struck a chord with me and gave me some ideas, it'll definitely make it into the video, if that's alright with you of course.
Thank you so much for making this video, seeing this level of understanding and respect for my favorite character means a lot to me.
This video made me incredibly happy as Silver is one of my favorite characters:) The editing is so good too!!! Thank you for making this
Thank _You_ for watching!
IDW actually does this exact thing, silver's future is constantly changing between fixed and ruined (from different things) from spontaneous developments in the current time, giving him an actual reason to keep coming back
I'd usually see silver as someone who just wants to help in any way he can, he's sorta like shuichi or kiibo
How do you only have 500 subs? Your editing is professional level and you kept my attention the whole time
Really means a lot, thank you so much man!
A SILVER AND SHADOW GAME WOULD BE SOOO COOL like maybe segas chance to make something like 06 SHOULD HAVE BEEN and give everyone a new and better impression of silver. cute naive hedgie on the surface, brave persistent hero on the inside. both of the characters have so much room to learn from eachother, shadow keeps emotions to himself while silver spills his heart out. they work SO well as a team, almost like blaze and silver, though theres a bit more edge to shadow that would really be fun to see play out
Duuuude... Your videos have not only got super interesting ideas within them but also so much production value that it gives me chills. 👍✌
Thank you dude, appreciate it!
@@ALtheBoi oh, didnt excpected for you to notice me so quickly, thanks :), im wacthing all of your "fixing characters" videos and im really liking it, your editing is really good and your views in the sonic franchise are also really good, not even in an opinion factor(cant really describe what i was trying to say so just know that i think youre cool), ive just ended the tails video and as you've said in this video, im going to collect as much info as i can on this videos to make my own sonic universe im planning on, its gonna have fangames and a "anime", and some other cool stuff that i cant think of it rn, but im planning to do way too many things so its gonna take a while(not to say i dont even have the resources to go into the execution phase yet so i'll get as much use of the planning stage as i can), hope you find it cool, im putting a lot of effort into this project, and if you want you can even help me out on it eh? uhh, wait where was i again? oh yea, your videos are cool and you deserve 1k subs :3
also sorry for the archie comics lore i just writed to you, got a little carried away
I'm a little late watching this but I always love your content keep up the good work.I hope you're doing okay in quarantine!
Thanks man, you too.
I absolutely adore this, silver is probably one of my favorite sonic characters and all of these ideas (minus the time stone stuff but that a personal thing) are absolutely fantastic!
I like silver
He's Slower on foot then with his Psychic Powers which puts him in a good position for a Platformer or Puzzle or Mystery Game
That's a funny thought lol
Wherever Silver goes destruction follows soon after, he's like Absol
“How many times is Silver willing to play god before Shadow steps in.”
god that is SO cool
Silver does deserve more love but in some of the comics i think IDW he does get his future restored.
I've never thought of having Shadow be a mentor to Silver, but it actually makes a lot of sense, especially since shadow is in a place where he's kinda gone through his major arc, it might give him a role to further develop
Dude, that was good. Almost good enough to make me think about start playing Sonic 06 again.
Love your editing too, top notch stuff!
