  • Are you overlooking stock plug-ins? You may want to reconsider. Joe shows us how easily an underrated tool can add movement to your tracks and spark inspiration in Studio One.

    Here's a nice trick too : you can stack 2 with one in Tremolo mode and another more subtle in Pan mode, then play with the rate and experiment.

      Definitely. I do that a lot. Also try including the gate too. You can get some happy mistake rhythms.

    I wish the add insert can have something like a search bar or vendor filter

    why can't we map the LFO to an Automation? for example to a cutoff filter 🧐 - that would be nice!

    • @bobbylimesmusic
      @bobbylimesmusic ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes this. A couple changes can really boost this plugin. Filter settings in the X-trem itself would also be great

    I recently used for vocal shots on my new project and I liked it. Same shots seperated on 3 tracks and 3 X-Trems with different speeds. Bussed them and added some long verb, fantastic! 😊 It is so handy and effective. Thanks Presonus.

    Nice way to add width without some of the phase issues associated with widening plugins!

    Auto-pan is something I use all the time in Ableton, but have been missing in S1. Glad to find it's actually there!

    It would be good if x-trem could control any automation lane / device parameter in your effects string. Also would like to see a shape-able lfo envelope for use in ducking/ sidechaining.

    PLEASE! Add to Studio One a possibility to pitch bend down current audio clip parts!!! I can't find how to do this! I just want to apply slide effect to my bass pasrt with pitch curve, but Studio One doesn't have this basic functionality. In Cubase I can do this in just few clicks. In Studio One I have to apply insert with pitch shifter, then automate using write mode, and if I grag it away - it looses all I did. So, Add simple pitch bending to audio clip editing tools, so we could DRAW a PITCH CURVE and Apply to the current part of audio! I need this so often! Please!

    ...how did I not know this existed?? o.O User since 2010 v1 Pro... time to abuse this on synths, psytrance go!
    I didn't even have any 3rd party effects plugins until I think last year when I got Arturia's FX Collection. I've also tested a lot of DAWs and always felt like Studio One's were a cut above. But really, the "stock plugins" of pretty much every DAW are great; it's like people think devs didn't spend any time or effort on these things lol.
    Thanks Joe!

    I just tried adding subtle panning to my drums and the fills sound amazing in the mix. Thanks for showing me this Joe!

    If S1 had a tape saturation and plugin parameter linking, there probably wouldn't be a reason to go anywhere else.

    Can I use this to side chain basically??

    • @timetravelvictim
      @timetravelvictim ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes. I use it often to sidechain my bass to my kick when first starting a track, when I'm in a hurry just to get a good pump. Later in the session, I'll dig in and use the compressor instead so I can dial in my attack and release MS, but there is nothing stopping you from using it as a sidechain. I also use it on Mai Tai as well.

    First time using this. Haven't hooked up my presonus 24c yet to my pc but have installed studio 1. I want to mess about just testing things and cant get any audio out of it. Have loaded up the demo track and pressed play but the play button goes green but nothing happens. What am i doing wrong?

    I use this feature a lot in my electronic music production, especially with arpeggios. It's a nice feature and really adds life to the music. Good stuff, Joe!

    Interesting, actually I use X-Trem with Pan mode in almost every my track for many years. I don't like static panning and use it only when it make sense (like imitating real band on scene, where they are not flying around, you know :), so dynamic panning with different Speed and Depth is what I can achieve with this.
