@@paoloreitz1169 Ya, an odd piece of tech that people are confidently backseating how they assume the spell works. For a target to be chosen deflecting swat HAS to resolve, therefore it can't be countered, only the thing that can be countered is the spell deflecting swat is using. Also you're not supposed to be able to change your mind and 'curve' the swat's target when you announce any target for the first time but it's a friendly game so it's whatever. In short: You don't have to announce to the table what swat is targeting until after it's resolved, so don't. That way the only way to stop it is to counter the thing targeting your stuff, making swat into 'just' a free counterspell that also removes a counterspell from an opponent.

Ben calling out the missed Rhystic triggers all game was hilarious.
Thank you for having wheeler it's great to have him
It's great to be him 😅
I love how at 27:18, Wheeler essentially asked 3 times for any rhystic triggers and got nothing.
Shouldn't Eliot's Fierce Guardianship have countered Crim's Deflecting Swat which would've killed his Winota??
No I think the deflecting swat resolved, redirecting the pyrokenesis. Then the pyrokenesis was countered and not the swat

Jerry: the Premier Godo pilot of the format
Wheeler’s sass in cEDH is somehow sassier than in other formats, except of course CanLander.
Thank you spike feeders for this gift.

Great game! Love cEDH and always a blast when Crim and Wheeler are on the show! Loved it
Did no one in the comments see that Winota was supposed to die?
I wondered what was countered. Did he counter the Pyrokinesis?
9:17 Fierce Guardianship countered the Deflecting Swat right? So wouldn't Pyrokinesis still resolve and kill the Winota?
it countered the pyro
Was also curious about how this resolved
@@nicolasleyton4330so he targets pyro on the stack and swat fizzles since it has no legal target?
Feels wrong to not counter the Swat though.

You guys play the most fun to watch CEDH, it's on the stack but I like the vibe a lot more than usual. Keep up the good work! Funny episode
I'm only happy when godo wins. I've never been happy before today
Aw yis more Wheeler!
Never enough Wheeler and Crim.
I see you editors at 1:54 at 0.25x speed AND i had to go frame by frame.
*👏*
lol underrated comment
if deflecting swat was countered, does that mean that winota should be dead because that was not redirected anymore?
I'm pretty sure I could never see Godo again and I'd be fine with it
Do you guys play cedh all the time? If so, you guys do a great job recording a video. There are some channels that just fly through it. You guys are great!
Thanks! I'd say we do cEDH about half the time.
Fierce on deflecting swat means Winota should have died due to pyrokenesis?
they countered pyro I think
I un-ironically enjoyed this stax crawl!
Shame my boi crim didn't take out Godo for more content. :) would have liked to see where it goes from there.
28:50 I didn't know you guys were playing a game of old school 😂
I love the funny comments below the commander when they talk about their decks. Peak my kinda humour 😂

Everyone write that down, Jerry is wearing socks
Please correct me if I am wrong (I am a beginner): Jerry had the kill and Crim didn't eliminate him? Is that true?

wait wait wait...Godo, Bongrip Warlord?????

I desperately want to see an Urabrask the great work cEDH deck. Hopefully you guys do 1 some day
Love this pod of Commanders and their Pilots. Really interesting to see a balance in two creature/Aggro decks with two combo/ad naus decks.
So why doesn’t Crim double block Godo and stop the chain?
I hope we get to see a Slicer deck at some point, it feels like a neater faster mono-red deck to me.
I'm a tad confused, did the deflecting swat get countered or was it the damage dealing spell?
The damage dealing spell. You choose the new targets from deflecting swat upon resolution rather than on cast.
holy shit really?! that is new and good info to have, thanks very much@@matthewtompkins4338

You can hear Elliot say "Deflecting Swat is good" at one point, so he already let it resolve.

A Fire Emblem 4 reference in my commander game? Its more likely than you think.
All Jerry, no Tom 😞
Should Wheeler have Flusterstormed the Wheel of Fortune? Jerry was tapped out and I think no one else could have responded with Trinisphere.
I can't believe that madlad just, casually cast Godo, got the helm out, then waiting an entire turn rotation, equiped it, and won.
ah, the classic game of the hatebears deck just playing hatebears which means the combo deck doesn't have to do anything but play their combo
This was great
Jerry should've intro'd the deck as "We're going to do one thing and one thing only, I'm going to count to 11 really fast!"
This was the best cedh game I have ever watched in the last few minutes.
Also, Ben saying he's the one that knows the actual board state 😂
I've been the Ben in so many multiplayer Magic games with those triggers
GODOOOOO
Would make Trinisphere + Thalia make some of the spells cost 4 mana? (Like the Sol Ring)
Thalia increases sol-ring to 2, and then 3-ball sees that 2

Eliot's Sol Ring should have cost 4 mana, right? Trinisphere plus Thalia.
nope, trinisphere checks basically after all other cost in-/decrease effects and then puts it to 3 if below
