Most folks are without knowledge when it comes to hats and the fur felt being used. Learn to trust in your hatter for guideance to a fur felt that will work for what you want/need it for. How often will you 'really' wear it? What do you 'need' your hat to do for you? Ericka is a Master Hatter with lots of experience, you can trust in her judgement for what will work for your needs - I've known her for many years.
Not to be offensive, but, It's easy to be an expert when ya may not know what you're talking about! Rabbit fur felt has it's place/use, as does beaver fur felt. Rabbit fur felt makes a damn good hat.
