I wish someone would give Kate Moennig her own show, or just make this show be a spin- off about Shane. She is a phenomenal actress and just has such a screen presence. I love The L Word, but I can already tell that she won’t get enough screen time with such a large ensemble cast.
I love that the entire cast just kept quoting Jennifer. it just shows how intelligent and well spoken she is.
Despite being outdated now, the original show was hugely influential back when I was discovering my sexuality in 2011. I heard all these people on the internet mention "the L word" and I remember I binge watched it all online and my parents were concerned why I was on the computer so much that summer. It was the first show to really show me that you could be gay, and have that be a part of your identity, but that didn't necessarily change anything about the rest of your life, you could still have the same career, a family, find an amazing community, and find people who relate to you in a new way. I discovered the L word back when I didn't know what label to give myself, all I knew was I wasn't straight and at the time I couldn't legally marry whoever I wanted. A lot has changed since then, in both my life and in the country, but I'm still so excited to see more representation!
The original L word was so well written and acted and I'm insanely excited to see what generation Q has to offer. It's great to see more racial diversity and see a trans person played by a trans person. I can't wait for December 8th! Also I can't wait to take fashion inspiration from their wardrobes, lol.
We now have a lot more representation on tv than there was in 2005, but as we saw from the insane number of "bury your gay" tropes a few years ago, we need all the representation we can get. If we're 10% of the population then shouldn't we be 10% of the characters on tv? I can't wait for the first episode!

Definition of outdated: No longer in use or fashionable; out of date; outmoded; antiquated. The original L word is very relevant, I am sure there are people who are still watching it, Jennifer Beals will never be outmoded, It's a part of our history, it will always be relevant. It was historical and you wouldn't even be talking about this on You tube if it hadn't been. Your just coming into things. Choose your words carefully, you may be Insulting the people who made it possible for you to be enjoying how your life is.

I think that creating The L Word, keeping it to the original story, was something they felt compelled to do as writers, but I believe, without a shadow of a doubt, that being a part of the execution, transformed them forever as writers, and I think we will see that growth in Generation Q.

I’m so excited for the show to come back it’s been too long and it’s lovely to see some of the original cast there and some new faces and I’m really excited to see the storyline and everything that that holds
I AM CRYING I MISSED SHANE SO MUCH I WANNA CRY ALSO WHY IS BETTE SO BEAUTIFUL I DIE
I was about 16 and pretty much out as a bisexual to all my friends. One day i was hanging out with a friend (straight) , and a close friend (who identified as lesbian at the time, but very few people knew).
Our straight friend during a conversation said 'the L word' but she meant Love, and she did not know the show. In that moment my lesbian friend and I looked at eachother and in a second we both recognized that we both knew the show even if we had actually never talked about it. It was hilarious and I think that strengthened our friendship, and from that day we fangirled very hard together about the L word, and more specifically, about Shane 😂.
So glad my girl Bette is back. My first L crush. Jennifer is great in this role. And yeah, where is Tina?? Loved them together.

This show helped me realize that when I was a young girl, I wasn't abnormal just bisexual and now as an adult I need to say that I personally thank the L Word for that 100% because all those years ago, there was no class to take to learn about these things, I learned and related to this show.

As far as the race issue goes.... L word don’t forget that representation is important the show is good at giving bi racial roles but from what I’m seeing from the previews not very many dark skinned black girls. I’m still excited for the new show!
sylar no I see a brown skin perhaps biracial girl, in the past they said they messed up by how they portrayed trans people and killing off the girl with cancer may I add diversity too.
Dana's death in L word still hurts my feelings.... Fairbanks was one of the funniest characters on L word after Alice and to add salt to injury they allowed her to die in Season3, , , , you could imagine the pains and misses.

This show with all its flaws helped me so much in understanding myself and my sexuality. I still have such intense crushes on Bette and Shane. Especially our sexy Shane. Who can resist her? SO looking forward to this! The original made me realize my orientation and I am forever grateful for it's existence. Forever grateful for it's boldness and attempts at inclusion along the spectrum of orientation/gender expression/race/etc. To see someone like Bette who is of mixed heritage be so proud and unforgiving of her true authentic self resonated, and continues to resonate, with me in so many ways.

This show is for everyone. That’s the beauty of the L word, then and now. I remember watching this when I lived in a small town and had no idea about true diversity. I knew it existed, but it was more like a star or solar system, u know it but don’t understand it. War Bj by it helped open me up to the world. That’s so important for all kinds of people!!!
