Those close ups of the new A220 business class seat exposed Qantas’ cleanliness standards (or lack) in its premium product.
I’ve consistently found Qantas planes to be quite dirty across all classes. 😅 I always carry wet wipes in my bag to clean the tray table.

A pity that Virgin stopped wide bodied flights to Perth from Melbourne, a few years back. But that was understandable with the money concerrns in 2020, and trying to restructure.
Now qantas is cutting wide bodied flights too ( well, at least from Melbourne)....that takes it pretty much to a 737 duopoly ( with a few A320/321) thrown in.
The market is there.....but the costing is so high to have any kind of real comfort....most just end up having to choose being in the sardine cans, that make up economy on these flights.

I’m a bit sad that Qantas is suspending its QF9/QF10 service between Melbourne and Perth. It’s my favourite way to fly to the west.
Rex and Virgin are having a 48-hour sale right now. Melbourne/Adelaide to Perth for $99 each way is a bargain! 😂

I have a question what do you do with your bags in the lounge? Is there somewhere we're to store them or do you have to carry them around with you?
There’s no locker at the Qantas lounges, so I either carry it around or put it next to my seat. 😊
Great review as always Rory. Someone needs to sort out the cooking at the lounge and missing a course on the plane is just plane odd, pardon the pun.

How easy is it to get a seat on the Dreamliners to Perth. I'm imagining not easy?
I find it quite easy to request an upgrade to premium economy or business between Melbourne and Perth on this flight, but it’s the luck of a draw between Perth and London.
Once again expectations not met. Qantas should just get rid of the menus if they can’t be bothered. Slack when they have four hours to complete a service. Our SQ crew did a full breakfast service an hour and a half out of Singapore in J class due to bad weather.
Such good quality compared to Virgin.

I'm a little dense, but I don't understand why you have to go through customs and immigration if you never leave Australia.
Because the flight leaves from an international terminal you must go thru outbound customs the same as someone travelling all the way to London
So wait a sec! They built a new line around the Perth airport but forgot to build a station at the international terminals? How stupid!
QANTAS is so “ utilitarian”
Qantas Dreamliners have way better and modern seats compared to their A380s...
I believe Qantas has just finished refurbishing all its A380s. The business and premium economy are as modern as the 787, but the economy seats are still the old ones. 😅
@@RoryDing Well as a person who probably ain't gonna fly business or premium, that's quite unfortunate. I don't mind the economy seats too much, its just that the entertainment system is pretty outdated, maybe been there since the planes were first delivered to Qantas in late 00s.
I agree, flown QF1 from Sydney to Singapore once, didn’t quite like it, the legroom isn’t very good, especially if the person in front reclines.

This is what’s written on Qantas website about their Premium Economy product: “Look forward to a complimentary amenity kit, offered on selected flights to help you stay refreshed. The stylish pouch contains an eye mask, dental kit and socks.
Snuggle up with one of our large cotton pillows and a 100% wool blanket for optimum comfort.”
@@RoryDingNice trip report man:) Unfortunately Qf changed the blankets early this year. The old ones were so much nicer!! The 787 you were on was in much better shape than some of the older ones. My last flight had a footrest that looked well past its due date many seats had broken tablet holders. I find these seats really comfortable and like the recline. row 23 is always my pick as well:)
