    Dear Josh,
As a Flight Attendant at Qatar Airways you are definitely right. There is something going on behind the scenes. We are underpaid, under fear, under rested, under arrest at my own accommodation most of the times. Before every flight I HAVE to stay at my house and come back before 4 in the morning anyhow. One mishap here and there, one tissue upside down and I'm scared I will be fired. I have been flying continuously for the last week, twice I did turnaround flights to Europe sectors. Twice. No rest whatsoever. The crew who flew you from Colombo wouldn't have had 24 hour layover and let's not get to the layover allowances. It's basically peanuts. I fly thrice to US sectors every month before which I do a turnaround flight to Indian sectors. The layover in the states is maximum 24 hours, even tho the time difference is insane. I do not get to see my friends and family for months at a stretch because I'm always scared if I'll even get the ticket and the ticket back to Doha is even more expensive. Plus I have to come back as soon as possible because of 'minimum' rest. I live here in constant fear from so many people, my passengers, my supervisors, my own colleagues, my own team at the office and even my own watchmen in my building. When i heard the bonus Emirates and Singapore Airlines or even low cost carriers was awarded I was very hopeful because my airline is the best and I expected a lot, yes. But I think a lot of commenters are right, we do buy those gimmicky awards. Because the best airline would never treat their employees like this. When you said that they send the worst aircrafts to South Asian countries. They also treat their employees from South Asians countries the same. We constitute the most of the company, from higher management to cleaners but you will never see one of me in their advertisements. Never. I don't even get my bids, neither do I get my offs and it's not just me it's most of us here, but we're here surviving here on such less money. Doha is so expensive for so many reasons. They keep hiring from my countries because it's cheap labor and they are aware of it. They believe in hire and fire instead of keeping the current lot happy. We have a speech ceremony here where the GCEO Mr. Akhbar Al Baker comes and has a word with us. He said "AT THE END OF THE DAY YOU ARE JUST A NUMBER TO ME, YOU ARE REPLACEAPLE". How can someone draw their motivation from this? In another speech ceremony when asked why are the allowances degrading day by day? He said, you don't need more money you eat my casseroles, how ironic it is that we us crew still don't eat on most of the flights since there is no food left. We are supposed to share 2 bananas and 2 apples among 14 people. Sometimes I feel I have no basic human rights. I feel like I'm being watched the whole time, monitored even. The crew are truly exhausted all of us. But there are still people who won't say anything because they get things their way and the ones who don't, well they don't.
Yet we smile, 'going places together'
I'm sending this to you from a burner email because i don't want to be tracked down. You can respond here whenever you like. I will also comment on the video please you can pin it or copy and paste using your account so that they dont remove it because everyone deserves to know what makes us the best airline in the world.
    We need your help, Josh.
    Please.

I'm not surprised. After all, this is a middle eastern country we are talking about. South Asian workers are treated like slaves and third class residents. Having spent 10 years in the middle east, I can speak from experience that we are nothing but a number to them. When they don't care about their employees, how can they care about their customers? Have you ever seen a Qatari national working as flight crew? No, because it's beneath them! Their treatment of those Australian women during the airport baby scandal shows that they have no regard for human rights.

I don't generally watch flight/hotel/travel experience reviews since they're generally sponsored and the content creators know not to be actually critical (for fear of burning bridges for potential sponsorship/revenue). Hearing about Qatar's treatment of you brought me to this video, and I just want to applaud you for standing behind your review and not being bullied by the airline. I'll be looking forward to watching your videos from now on and using them to make travel decisions.

since last year Aug after flying without being jabbed was allowed or opened up i have flown three times, Oct 22 / May 23 and now in Nov 23 Germany-South Africa, before covid i flew Oct 2015 on Lufthansa and found the food ok, July 2016 i flew on Swiss air and the food was excellent, then i flew Jan 2018 same route on Lufthansa and food was ok, then again Dec 2018 Swiss air and food was good, then again July 2019 Swiss air and food was good, then came Covid and because i refused to be jabbed could only fly again in Oct 2022 on Air France, food was good, then flew Swiss air May 23 and food was bad, the bun for breakfast was like a cricket ball, hard and dry, now in Nov 23 again Swiss air and food was terrible, ok all in economy class, but will only fly either Air France /Swiss /Lufthansa as it's a direct flight to South Africa and back, , and on Google Flights it easier to book ones own flight, i dont worry about the quality of food as i take my own food with when flying, i eat it just short before boarding and always have extra self-made food in my carry-on luggage for breakfast waiting for my connecting flight,i will only buy a coffee while waiting to board ,

Can we also talk about why the toilets are messy when grown adults are the ones flying. It is unfair for passengers to mess up toilets and expect another human being to clean up your filth after you. If you dont know how to use a toilet then maybe you shouldn't be flying in the first place. I personally would not enjoy my job if i had to constantly be cleaning toilets because people keep pissing on the floor. Also remember, the same people cleaning your piss off the floor are the same people serving you food. The crew are not slaves so please treat them with dignity.

I work as a receptionist at a hotel that accommodates Qatar crew near Heathrow. Poor people are exhausted, they get treated like sh*t by the company and and hence there is no motivation. Imagine, we have a flight that comes in the morning and they have to operate AGAIN the same evening with minimal rest. Their rosters get constantly changed and sometimes they don't even know where they are flying to next. This company is making them overwork themselves but they are too scared to speak up as the company is extremely strict. When I do my briefing upon their check in, they are either too tired to stand up or too tired to even keep their eyes open. I understand that passengers pay a lot of money to fly with them, which explains the high expectations, however, please be kind to people who work in customer service sector

Not 30 days had yet passed after he arrived and started working when they kicked him and everyone else they hired out of the apartment and told them to go fund their own place or get lost. Half returned to their country of origin jobless. My friend and 6 others were able to get a 3 bedroom apartment they’ve been crammed into since the start of the year. The common theme is they’re overworked and not getting paid enough to cover essentials never mind Leisure and remittances

As ex-crew for another gulf airline, here is my insight on these shortfalls:
-Bathroom cleanliness: crew are expected to keep the bathrooms replenished on flights, however it was never our duty to clean the floors as the plane does not even have any mops etc on board. Do you really want your crew cleaning urine off of the floor (even with gloves), and then handling your food? The toilets are only fully cleaned on ground by cleaning staff, and arguably the bigger issue here is that full grown adults are urinating on the floor.
-Unfriendly crew: I stopped flying before Covid, however even then airlines began to decrease the number of crew on each flight which made it extremely challenging to deliver the expected level of service. There is a ton to prepare on ground before take off especially for shorter flights so that the service can be started as quickly as possible, and with minimal crew it was near impossible to greet everyone. On shorter flights it is also fully impossible to deliver the service that the airlines sell and advertise. There is literally not enough time to have warm conversations with 300 people on a 3-4 hour flight so I remember it was often a situation of just handing out the trays and getting everything put away again before preparing for descent.
-Catering: the airlines cater nearly the exact amount of meals as there are passengers, and generally the meal choices are 50/50. It would be impossible for everyone to always get their meal choice, and really the only way to improve this would be to oversupply meals but then this would lead to a huge waste of food.
The only thing I don’t like about this video is that I feel like it attacked the crew a bit who I think people forget are human too. You don’t know how many hours they’ve flown that month, what they’re going through in their personal lives, or if maybe something happened on the way to the aircraft or the previous flight that brought their mood down. They are also the face of the airline that get the heat from all of the issues customers face, but literally almost every single thing is out of their control. Baggage problems, meal problems, connection problems, seat problems - literally none of this is in your cabin crews control.
Let’s give service workers some grace ❤

Of course the service is not the same between the two and I am OK with that. I had the best EVER business class experience on Qatar Airways. If I compare Qatar airways with any US carrier, the US carrier would lose by a mile. I think this is unfair to the airline and crew.

1:44 Just because a plane is over 15 years old doesn’t mean it is a dinosaur. As long as the cabin has been refurbished the plane will feel brand new and can fly for another 15 years. I’ve flown many older 777’s that have had nose-to-tail refurbs and they felt just as new as any 787!

A reason for the Qatar decline is probably that they have based their employee relations on fear! The employees have been hounded for years, in manners that would not be permissible at all in "the West"... After the pandemic, jobs in the airline industry are available everywhere, due poor pay and terrible hours, so not having nurtured a pride in their airline rather than fear of Qatar managers, they are now paying the price for not caring for their employees!

I worked as a cabin crew for QR for four years beetwen 2009-2012. Qatar Airways was a toxic work environment and still is.
I flown with them as a passanger recently and it is written in the crew forehead how miserable they are.
Some nationalities, keep doing it because they lack better options in their home countries. I once flew with a fellow crew and she told me she had properties back home as a QR crew. Haha imagine!
Regarding the crew "giving their back" to you during boarding, Id do the same if someones board with a camera on my face. Times have changed, I guess.
Toilets: crew should maintain toilets acceptable for use, sure. But, people should be mindful of others when using it as well. I always kept toilets in 'acceptable' state, never, never cleaned them.
My last days as a crew finished 6 years ago with Etihad Airways. Much more pleasant experience. I believe for the guests too.
As a former crew and fellow passenger, Id say Qatar Airways isn't the best at all.

They have always been first class in terms of food and service to us and this is probably why this has come as such a shock to me. I'm hoping it's just been a blip and you got them on a bad day - we all get them right?! I have noticed that they have really increased their airfares but put this down to current financial crisis around the world. Time will tell I guess, but I hope you choose to contact them personally to tell them your experience and at least give them the chance to respond. Live your videos Josh! I’ve been traveling on QR business class for almost 10 years now. Prior to this, I’ve always traveled with SQ, EK or CX. I switched to QR because their service was waaaay better than the other 3. I can’t say that about them now. Other than the Q suites being comfortable and food is good, the service is really subpar nowadays. I noticed this since early last year. I’ve flew twice more after just to give them a chance but, I’m very disappointed. Even the lavatories are not clean or well stocked as before. I’ve now since reverted back to EK and I’m happier with the new seats and, better service. When the staffs are demotivated, it always stems from the top. Big corporations always forget that it’s their people who makes the company… not the other way around. I hope the QR management will wake up soon. Oh and btw, their customer service suck big time too! One of the worse I would say

I used to be a crew and i have to comment on this video: i flew with QR for almost 6 years and i worked in both economy and business class. I agree with most of your comments:
1-After pandemic, QR fired a lot of crew and when the airline was about to pick things up , they hired thousands and the same time so it was (quantity over quality) and we can feel it even the behavior of the new crew is different. However i can say that 90% of the crew are extremely friendly and hard working
2- i have no idea why would they still operate the 330 or rent other aircrafts from other companies like oman air and cathay pacific. They should have stick to two or three aircraft types and make the passenger life and crew life easier.
3-the product itself deteriorated after pandemic , i remember the tray used to have much more stuff but it feels like the food has become different.
4-the meal choice issue i started to notice it after pandemic, when i got promoted to work in business class. We have the same issue in business class, and it's much more embarrassing to refuse a customer a meal choice simply becuase there is not enough. The catering count used to be more however the last couple of years it has become very less and that is embarrassing.
5- since i joined in 2017, we used to not clean washrooms after every passenger, however, we do try and maintain its cleanliness. However, sometikes it gets really busy and hectic that we don't even find time to drink water.
6-The crew are not well compensated and the scheduling has become more hectic. It's like there are no rules or humanity or no consideration of how the human body function.
7- i don't think qatar airways is the best airline, i can write a book about what they are doing wrong from my point of view, and i can assure you that at least 70% or even more of the employees whether crew or not are just working for money and they don't care about the company or its image and they are not even slightly proud of working for QR and that affect the business in so many levels

    To everyone watching this video
I would like to mention that there are lot of things that QATAR AIRWAYS passenger are not aware of
Qatar airways crew are suffering from a really bad management
    First of all
    Layover hours are short
Some crew do miami and San Francisco with only 19 or 24 h rest only
Secondly the salary and layover allowance has downgraded in order to save money (as per the company)
Thirdly regarding the motivation everyone in qatar airways are there due to money and also the responsibility is to provide well service to passengers but the opposite is all the airline received a 06 or 08 month basic salary as a bonus , qatar airways payed their crew only 01 month and they add only 50 usd on top of their salary
So to mr josh and everyone reads this comment befor you judge regarding the crew is better to ask who is behind this Situation it is their management and especially the cabin crew management which are incompetent and cannot provide a single leadership skill
Food choices it always the same probleme so don’t be surprised

It didn't seem like he was "judging" the crew, as much as stating facts. Qatar charges customers (business class, anyway) well over double what they did in 2019. Apparently, that's not making it to the crew. But part of flight attendants' work is customer service. If that's lacking, more customers will choose another airline with more cheerful service.

@@cargopilot747 QR price is double than 2019 is normal, taxes are higher on 2023. But if you compare it with another airlines at the current time, QR has cheaper price most of the times.
Regarding the lack of customer service.
You're correct, PART of flight attendant job is customer service. But you can not compare customer service style of flight attendants and other hospitality industry as apple to apple. Don't forget the OTHER PART of it is their fatigue, constant jetlag, irregular circadian rhythms and lifestyle, and lots of other reasons that you might not even think of as a regular flyer. And apparently, those "cheerful service" (as you prefer to use this term), are taking care of their crew properly and humanely. Because, in the end of the day, this is business, not a charity.
Quick question. Have you ever flown from minus UTC time zone to plus UTC as a passenger? (I hope you're knowledgeable about UTC). Were you tired? If ONLY as a passenger you were exhausted, imagine working for 14hours with different time zones back and forth plus only 18hours of rest day. Think deeper next time.

@@user-to6jr7nz1d I've been checking prices to SE Asia. China Airlines, ANA, JAL, and a number of other airlines are consistently cheaper than QR. You completely missed the point about flight attendants. On all airlines, the FAs and pilots face irregular schedules and jet lag. No one likes to be underpaid and overworked. I've had to do it at several jobs. If management doesn't improve, the employee needs to look at other options. Glassdoor and Indeed are among employment websites that allow employees to rate their employers and if the company has malignant management, they can leave reviews with specific information, to help other potential workers to avoid that company. You're trying to make excuses for cheerless service, when flight attendants at other airlines put smiles on their faces. Wow. Try thinking about it from the customers' viewpoint. You pretend they should keep spending their money on Qatar when they have choices and can receive better treatment. Obviously, you have a vested reason for trying to defend QR because your comment makes no sense. But customers have choices and as Josh pointed out, when a customer spends money, he or she should expect good service. This video is a great wake-up call for QR.

Mind you I was flying from new York to Doha. And we got an outdated plane. The Plane also had tremendous turbulence and the scenes felt like the movie top gun maverick. Didn’t really feel that safe.
What is even worse is that on the way back, Qatar sent us to the US on an American Airlines flight. The staff were horrible, rude and ignorant. They didn’t treat us with respect whatsoever.
So Qatar on my way from Doha to Dhaka Ban (Gave us their worst budget plane, Oman Air) and from Doha to New York gave us American Airlines (we didn’t pay for American Airlines we paid for Qatar)
I am never flying Qatar again and it pains me to say that since it used to be one of the best airlines in the world.
From now on I’m only flying Emirates or Etihad as I’ve never had this issue with them

Fight service was minimal, bathrooms were dirty and not stocked with paper supplies. Food was okay, but disagreed about the cream dessert. They were not offering internet access at all. Flew from Stockholm to Doha and to Singapore. The crew was better on the Doha Singapore leg.

Let me tell you why you think QatarAirways is declining. First of all the crew before Covid were much more high quality( more professional and caring during their jobs), now the good crew are leaving and they need to fill up the missing spots with anyone. Second the crew are very demotivated due to bad salary since they are cutting their meal allowances and they work harder type of flights. They are demotivated due to seeing Emirates or Singapore getting 6 to 8 MONTHS of basic salary, and Qatar getting only 1 month 1 week(5 week basic) which is nothing and keep in mind they are working for supposedly the Best airline in the world..
Their crew schedule is most of the time not giving enough time to rest outstation like Emirates which gives crew day off. In Qatar once you land you are already counting down on your 24 hours rest at the destination, which in this 24h includes eating sleeping getting up and reaching the airport. So crew are very tired after a few flights like this.
Second with the meal shortage is because 70% is (chicken which most people eat and is the best option), 20% of second choice (beef) and 10% of vegetarian. I do understand that people will not get their meal choice most of the time also for the high pay for the ticket, but there is a lot of food waste and they are trying not to throw away as much possible, which is a responsible thing to do with a side effect.
Also cleaning the toilet after every guest is only in business class, in economy is as much as possible but not after every single person since the crew are busy all the time with service or after service duties etc, so maybe they didn’t have time since they just finished the meal service and they are preparing for the clearance etc.

Something important to note. Routes to Colombo, like many in South Asia, primarily serve to haul working class labour from those places to the Gulf States. As such, rarely are the business and first class seats ever filled and service seemingly takes less priority given the demographics of the passengers onboard. Service seems to take less priority on routes like this because frankly, the way Gulf carriers, and the govts who own them, would see it - is they’re not the target demographic which would put them on the map anyways (like Europe or America would). Nothing official to prove this but I’ve seen this to be the case on Kuwait Airways, Gulf Air and Emirates - who all run these routes for that same reason.
What I can say for sure though is the Gulf in general don’t treat South Asia with as much emphasis or urgency as they do the West.

Yes, I'm sorry to say that the middle East does treat Southeast Asian expatriates badly! They have this mentality (even though it says in the Holy Quraan, that no Arab is superior to a non-Arab, except in piety) that they are superior to any other human being. Not everyone coming from South Asia to work in the ME, is working class labour & even if they were, shouldn't they be treated as HUMAN beings first? I have flown Qatar a few times. Flew First class & had good experiences, however I do think they work their employees to the hilt with no rest! I happen to know a South Asian pilot who had to fly twice in the same day! He said he comes from a long haul flight in the morning & has to fly somewhere else the same night. This was terrible, coz it did take a toll on his health. Of course, he was let go during the pandemic, which I think was for the better & has given him some respite & time for his family, as he has a lil girl who needs her dad now, more than ever!

Qatar airways has become like an arrogant rich cousin in the family that shows off how rich he is and deems everyone else inferior. The entire culture reflects the arrogance of the CEO himself. He thinks of himself as even bigger than Airbus and Boeing. As for the crew, when you get paid less, inhumane scrutiny on SOPs, constantly being monitored and are in constant fear of losing your job, this is inevitable.
Since Emirates performed comparatively well after the covid, all the listed employees (pilots, crew, engineers, counter operators, etc) received bonuses this year. Ask any QA employee, how long has it been since they received any bonus?
The royal family should seriously consider changing the CEO, otherwise they'll loose their market to Emirates and other Gulf carriers. Mind you, the new Riyadh Air can give a tough time also. You can bribe the authorities and rating consultancies, but you cant bride customers.

I heard and read from crews with the middle eastern airlines that they dislike flying to South Asia. They don’t like the quality of the passengers and that as you can see in the overall attitude, care and motivation is lacking. Obviously it’s not good but if your airlines relies on connecting a huge amount of those passengers to your hub and it’s a huge part of your company strategy you should care and try your best to maintain standards. These are often shorter flight times with 24hrs rest. The biggest problem here which speaks to the culture of the company is the attitude of the crew, that is hard to fix and Qatar management needs to take a serious look at that.

Even though this video saddens me, I am not surprised. As an ex-Qatar Airways crew myself I even feel this airline is falling down. Crew are not motivated at all, and without motivation its hard to give your best. Cabin crew in this company ARE NOT treated as regular human beings: they are slaves. They are controlled at all times, they dont have a personal life when in Doha. They have to follow a 4-7 AM curfew and also, they have be locked up in their accomodations 12 hours before flight duty. WHY? Because they absolutely love to make crew feel miserable and make them feel they belong to Qatar Airways at all times, even during days off. Mental health in this company gets deteriorated thanks to those conditions the crew live in. Its humiliating. Qatar Airways crew nickname amongst their fellow middle east airlines is GUANTANAMO, wonder why?
And well, they forbid crew to take pictures with the passengers or post pictures with the uniform on their personal social media accounts. They are control freaks at its best. They absolutely HATE and MISTREAT their cabin crew.

I mean in general Josh is just filming what he encounters on his 2 flights with Qatar Airways. But before jumping to conclusions about the crew etc one should consider what happens behind the scenes in such an environment. The conditions for QR Cabin Crew were already bad pre pandemic and after the pandemic QR is cutting a lot of costs so for sure the payment for Staff members is not an exception. Maintaning the status of world's best airline comes with a lot of sacrifices on the Crews side. Let me list what kind of rules you have to follow if you work for Qatar Airways as Cabin Crew:
    - Curfew : Being home 12Hours before pick up time. So if your flights departs at 11pm you will be picked up by the company at about 9pm so you have to stay at home from 9am. You get 90min to go grocery shopping or to do anything else outside of your appartment. They track you because you have to swipe your Card to leave/enter the accommodation.
    - Being at home from 4am - 7am
    - Not enough rest between flights, not enough rest during certain Ultra Long Haul/Long Haul flights
    - Social Media Ban: Not posting on Social Media while wearing Uniform. Other than that not using your mobile phone while wearing the uniform. It is also not allowed to use a private cab while wearing uniform only the official Taxis are allowed.
    - Reporting Culture: if you get reported to your manager they can fire you immediately , it doesnt matter if you are at fault or not still gonna happen
    - Exit Permit: You are only allowed to go home if they grant you the exit permit otherwise you cant leave the country while working for Qatar Airways.
    - not a fair paymemt: While other airlines gave their Cabin Crew a bonus Qatar didnt. Other than that how cant such a prestige airline pay higher salaries ?
So at a certain point you just loose the ability to keep on smiling while working as a modern slave. There will be people saying why wouldn't they leave but i guess some cant due to the contract or some cant afford to do so.
I feel like this review shows that Crew are way too overworked and that the company doesnt care for their Cabin Crews well being. Its normal to meet individual Crew that arent too motivated but a whole set of 15-20 people is just unlikely. You can feel the Cabin Supervisors Anxiety when she asked him not to film her at the door. At some point its difficult to hold it together so now the so 'perfect' image is starting to fall apart.
So another thing is there are just routes that dont require a new plane. Different Countries with different cultures come with different behaviors so they of course choose their planes according to that.

@hawkeyenz so that's your opinion but to me that is too insensitive. What Josh said on this video will mostly effect the crew on these flights, now the faces are blurred but when he uploaded the video the faces were visible. If you know Qatar as a country in general you know that they don't have any labour unions that protect employees rights . So if you decide to fly with such an airline from such a country you don't have a clue what could possibly happens behind the scenes? I posted my comment to raise awareness so you know now , hope you are more considerate of the Crew the next time. Besides that running out of meal choices or messy lavatories are either the companies problem or the passengers fault so putting the blame on the crew of being lazy etc is just unfair. From 200 people in economy it just needs 1 person to mess up tha lavatory so how often should they clean it on a 4hour flight between service and meal clearings.

Both times were very underwhelming, in terms of the service, the crew, and the meals. The ground experience in DOH was appalling as well, with staff being very unprofessional. There are some much better, lesser-flown airlines in the region such as EY, GF, or WY that do a far better job with connections. They also changed the rules for their Qmiles and Qpoints and whatever "rewarding" system that is. On board I noticed that yes, options run out quite quickly and if you have ordered a special meal, sometimes they just don't have it (and you see the poor attendant running around the cabin trying to find the missing special meal...). On these type of flights, usually we have one main meal after departure and one snack one hour before landing. It happened that we didn't have the snack at all, or it was these mini packets of crisps. (instead of their usual hot sandwich). I didn't see much a difference in the toilets: it really depends on the flight: sometimes people are cleaner then other times. But yes, overall quality is getting lower.

Qatar cut down a lot after the pandemic. I booked assistance for my aging father but nothing worked. Just as my complaints. Worries me for future flights for my dad.

Flew Qatar Airways to/from Sri Lanka over the past few weeks and it was the single worst flying experience of my life. Ironically, the most expensive flight I’ve ever taken. They had multiple “system errors” that removed me from the flight and put me on standby, all of my seat selections - made well in advance - were disregarded (which matters, as I am pregnant / in my third trimester). They gave me a 37 minute layover to get through passport control and baggage claim and told me I’d have to pay $760 to get on the later (1.5 hour flight) to my hometown. All of the system errors ended up with customer service telling me that “nothing can be done”and I’d end up having to talk to five people before one would even consider helping me. Crap plane, crap good, crap staff. World class, my ass! You’ve not lost much being banned.

I went on Qatar airways and i felt soo sick the crew was like very bad i hated them. The food had no options for me they just gave me random and i do not recommend it costs alot aswell. It's only good when you are flying to these types of countries.

Josh well done for reviewing their economy class. I think premium class focused airlines like Emirates, Qatar and Etihad think that most reviewers (and they are mostly correct in this assumption) will only bother reviewing their premium cabins. This means they get away with offering a decidedly average economy experience that rarely gets reviewed and they get away with it! Keep doing those economy class reviews, after all, its how most customers travel!

Yea I agree with you josh, I used to fly QR to my home city in Goa, India from DXB!! But not anymore as the fares are eye watering 😢and 3 times more than others! Also crew used to be very friendly and I agree that they send the old planes to mostly south east Asia to India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh etc!! Also as there was only beef or Veg options it’s difficult for many Hindu people as they eat chicken and it wasn’t available!! Maybe they pay money to skytrax to give a 5 star rating!! 😂

I flew with Qatar from LHR to CRK (Clark-Philippines) last April and the disparity on comfort and meals on the second leg was a turn off on the Doha-Clark-Doha legs. Flying with them again tomorrow from LGW (BA flight) to Doha, but have up-graded to business class for the Clark leg. I expect to be flying London to Clark 4 times a year, and miss the Cathay service which was top class.

was top class... Even Cathay have their own issues. I used them a lot in the past but one day, I was having a business trip with checked in some important professional instruments and they lost my luggage for a Hong Kong - HCMC flight. They never bothered to help me. Since then, I swore no more ever Cathay. That was before the pandemic. I used them after the pandemic and I found the staff to be unfriendly and the quality not that top notch... Same for flight inside Asia.

I was a crew for 11 years , got terminated because I went to eat at friends who live 10 seconds away ! Literally the front building . It was during the pandemic knowing that I have no family in Qatar and didn’t see my family for over a year..When I was called to the office they showed me pictures of me ( I was wearing pyjamas 😂) and holding a food container.. I wasn’t even out clubbing.. when I asked for resignation on the spot as I couldn’t take the stress anymore.. I was terminated on the SPOT.. YEs I got my end of service but Not my 10 years free tickets as I accomplished 10 years of service especially when I asked for resignation with good performance.. couldn’t be able to be added on friends and family tickets.
I was a hardworking crew and one of the best supervisor..
2 months later I moved to Miami and here I am happily living here for over 2 years..
    to all my ex colleagues:
Get out of your comfort zone and explore other opportunities.. life is too short to work for THIS airline
Do whatever you wanna do .. planet earth is HUGE.
PS: I will never fly QR again as a passenger

I took 4 flights with them in 2022 including during the World Cup and I was shocked as I was expecting similar level to Emirates and Etihad. No consistency from plane to to plane some had decent entertainment systems some had rubbish and the biggest that shocked me was how we landed in London and crew did not even do a check to see everyone has fastened their seat belts

Hi Josh, I flew Qatar airways for the first time between Entebbe and Frankfurt this month and boy oh boy, you have put my experience in words and motion, which I couldn't do myself. I had always looked forward to flying the best airline in the world, Qatar airways, and when I did, I asked myself why it was given that title in the first place.
The awful experience started with having a ticket that was so inflexible to change and the officers in Kampala office were not bothered to give me other options of changing or opening my ticket apart from abandoning it or sticking with the original booking.
Then came the plane, service and experience from Entebbe to Doha and same returning back to Entebbe. There was zero interest from the crew, poor food options and the planes are so dated compared to emirates and other contenders in the Middle East that fly to Entebbe.
The experience from Doha to Frankfurt was equally the same as the first leg with an equally old plane but even with a newer plane on the return journey, I never got why the crew seemed more like an old tired European airline crew than a young vibrant Middle Eastern one.
To be honest, I was so disappointed that flying them again will be so hard for me.

Thanks for the heads up 👍

I flew Qatar business class in first quarter of 2022 cos this was the only reliable airline out of Australia post covid. The crew from Sydney to doha was hit and miss, couple of them in kitchen area were absolutely grumpy and didn't even make eye contact. Doha to Lahore crew on both legs was actually quite good, however toilets were messy on return leg to Doha. Doha to Sydney leg some crew was good others did the minimal. It was a full cabin but still it was a premium, so better engagement is expected.
I don't fly middle eastern Airlines to Pakistan anyway cos Thai route serves me better - shorter. I am not sold on travelling with Qatar.
